2013 certainly has been one of notoriety and change with the Double Bar D Farms cattle program. Firstly, the purchase of the most talked about and sought after Black Simmental bull of all-time, SVS Captain Morgan 11Z has made a huge impact on our program already. We can’t say enough about the potential of the offspring as they are being born. Our anticipation is limitless. This year you will see our first offering of SimAngus bulls and females in volume. The Purebred Simmental division is the strongest ever, debuting the first progeny of Double Bar D True Grit 181Y owned with Hannah Simmentals. The purchase of the Wyecrest herd will diversify our Fleckvieh program. And we calved out our first set of June born Fleckvieh calves, all ET or AI calves for the 2015 sale. Another exciting change this year is the joining of the T Bar C sales crew working with the Double Bar D team to further add service, confidence, and value to your purchasing desires. Developing a comprehensive breeding program and executing it with the upmost integrity and determination to produce a product that is viable and profitable for the beef industry, ranks as one of the most challenging and rewarding parts of the seedstock business. We have sat down, had numerous discussions, cheated a bit on vision, and utilized our cowherd for your benefit. With fat cattle at all-time high prices and the heavy calves yielding a premium, our foresight pushed us to produce more performance bulls for the producer seeking added pounds at weaning. The genetic make-up of the bulls are jammed up with not only growth, but maternal strength that will inevitably be capitalized on within the cowherd through their daughters. It becomes even more obvious every year that cow families make all the difference. The blending of genetics to form a balance of traits is always a challenge, but very rewarding. We would like to extend a very warm thank you to all of our customers and friends. Without a doubt, the last couple of years have been an exciting time at our sales and this year will be no exception. This is the strongest set of bulls yet. The “Age Advantaged” bulls will play a bigger part in the sale offering. Selling fall born or coming twos, offers us a better opportunity to develop the bulls under less
pressure, but also evaluate them extremely thoroughly during maturity and growth. We have done the sorting, in turn giving you more confidence in your purchases. The yearling bulls are the cream of their crop. The same critical eye and pressure is upon the younger bulls. The greatest advantage to you, our customers, is the amount of cattle we have to select from, ensuring you the best will be on offer. • All Fleckvieh bulls and females will be dilution tested for those wanting to use them on black genetics. This information is available by request. • We offer many options for purchasing through our consultants. Terms & Conditions... TERMS:
The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance, unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds. BIDDING:
Each animal will sell to the highest bidder... no by-bidding will be permitted. Disputes – Bidding will be reopened between the parties involved in dispute. If no further bidding is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision on all disputes will be final. ANNOUNCEMENTS:
All announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay close attention to such disclosures. BREEDER’S GUARANTEE:
Should any bull fourteen (14) months of age or over fail to prove a breeder after being used on females known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six (6) months following the date of purchase

or six (6) months after the bull has reached fourteen (14) months of age. The seller will have the right and privilege of six (6) months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will freeze. EXCEPTION GUARANTEE:
In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void. CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION:
Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Simmental Associations. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made. LIABILITIES:
All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and sale manager assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur. It is understood that Sale Management is acting only as a medium between buyer and seller and is not responsible for any failure on, the part of either party to live up to his obligations. The Double Bar D “Best of Both Worlds” bull and female sale needs no introduction and is a definite choice to satisfy the most astute cattleman’s needs. This years offering is deeper then ever with more embryo transplant work and newly added bull power making this as exciting of an offering as they have produced. As you study this years sale book you will recognize the results of proven cow families stacked for multiple generations along with breed leading sires resulting in what has become one of the leading Simmental cowherds in North America. With close to 1000 cows, these numbers allow the Dimler family to be very selective in the product they offer there customer. As only the very top cut make the bull pen allowing allot of the guess work to be taken out of the equation. Rest assured that these bull groups have be culled out more then once as they have been developed resulting in a product that will excel in growth, longevity and high maternal traits. As you study the Fullblood Simmental bull offering you will find an excellent set of yearling herd sires on offer. This group come with generations of only the best and most proven genetics available. They are stout,hairy, structurally correct bulls ready to work. The extra age group are much like there younger brothers. This group of summer born bulls offer the same genetic lineage only with more age to cover more cows and maintain there shape while offering the customer years of value and service. These fullblood bulls with produce cattle that will add growth, performance and very high maternal value to you programs. Also a special feature will be the first son of Brenair Park Halfke to sell in North America, be sure to check him out for those of you looking for the freshest and newest genetics. The red and black division is the strongest set of red and black to date. These bulls are very similar in there type and kind. They are hairy, big topped, big bodied bulls that are sound and structurally correct. This powerful group is from some of the freshest and most sought after genetics available and are the result of proven cow families and an extensive embryo program. Weather a black or red herdbull is in on your wish list you will find it in this group. One of the most intriguing pens is this stellar set of SimAngus bulls. This powerful group of bulls who are all out of first calf fullblood heifers mated to Black Angus bulls are some of the nicest phenotypically correct cattle. These bulls are soft made, easy fleshing and very sound with loads of muscle and hair. They will excel in terms of calving ease, efficient growth with moderate frame, high maternal traits and carcass value. Being out of the top cut fullblood heifers is only an added bonus to this powerful pen of herd sires. The Red Angus bull pen have an excellent group of calving ease bulls. This group will offer calving ease type cattle which are very efficient and moderate in growth while maintaining very high maternal strength. While smaller in numbers yet still very high in quality and value. As always a very select group of open yearling heifers will be offered. As you have seen in the past these are top cut heifers and are very sought after. These heifers are very soggy, hairy, phenotypically correct backed by the very best genetics in the business. It’s been said a million times, but repetition is proven again here. Cow families make all the difference. In 2002, Richard and I visited Dale Murray in December, Whistler was an unknown and I wanted 2 females from Dale. One being Amanda 63L, dam of 191Z in this sale, and the other Unze 77F. I was obviously unsuccessful in purchasing these two as were Richard and I’s attempt at purchasing Whistler that day, but it’s funny how the world turns and now we get to work with both cows closely within our program. 200Z is an idealistic representation of the potency of Juggernaut back by the great Unze 77F cow and Helga 10Y. Houston didn’t hurt the equation either. Very interesting herdsire prospect.

Wyecrest Fleckvieh Bulls
We are constantly looking for genetics to complement our program and add a new and valuable sector to the Fleckvieh division. Our purchase of the Wyecrest Fleckvieh herd nucleus is a tremendous opportunity to infuse outcross Canadian genetics that have been bred and adapted to the harsh Canadian weather but also focused on the very important production traits of calving ease, moderated, maternal strengths, and concentrated cow families bred for consistency. The basis of the herd stems from mainly 5 cow families with the strongest being the original cows Pegner and Verdora, both born in 1998 and still in annual production. Ricky Batty meticulously bred these cattle and never offered females for sale for breeding purposes since 1998. If you notice, and I’m sure you will, the average birthweight on the following 9 bulls is 84 pounds. I will attest after calving their dams out in Saskatchewan this season, the birthweights are legit. Calves are vigorous at birth and cows are highly instinctive to get their calves up and going. Along with the cows, we also purchased 3 herdsires from the most productive cow families. We will be maintaining the integrity of the Wyecrest program in addition to incorporating other genetics. This set of bulls were born in Ontario and moved to SK in late May and developed slowly in pasture and supplement. Truly an opportunity to purchase unique genetics that are outcross to many of the current Fleckvieh lines in the mainstream.

Dam JF American Pride 0987X American Pride has most recently joined our Black herdsire battery. We spotted him nearly a year ago and it took some time to negotiate a deal to secure his ownership. He is unparalleled in body, fluidity, base width, neck extension, and is already proven to sire wonderful calving ease. When Pride’s dam came up for auction, we purchased her to join her son at Double Bar D for $20,000. A great sire has a great dam.
