Canadian Western Agribition Charolais Sale

Page 1

elcome to the World Series of cattle shows in Canada! Since its inception some forty-nine years ago Canadian Western Agribition has been the setting for the top beef breeders in Canada to come together, bringing the best their program has to offer. Our industry is unique in the fact that this week is a time of competition and commerce, as well as a major social event where competitors come together as friends. It is this fellowship that bonds us together and as we all know, it is the people that make this business fun! We are extremely proud of this year’s offering, not large in numbers but huge in genetic opportunity. Whether you are looking for a bred female with donor potential or a heifer to show next season, the live lots in this catalogue are sure to impress. The flush opportunities give you the chance to introduce cows into your program that you would never be able to buy…at any price. Only in a sale such as this do you have the opportunity to purchase embryos ready for implantation out of not only a past Agribition champion but also a RBC Supreme Champion. We also have some exclusive semen which cannot be ordered out of any catalogue. As always, Agribition is a “do not miss” event that we highly recommend attending; however if this is not possible, contact any of the T Bar C team for more information. See you in Regina

Selling this female is a true sacrifice to our herd. 891F is a Palgrove Justice daughter out of a powerful Landmark daughter that comes from an outstanding cow family with perfect udders. Summer is as broody as they come, is thick and deep bodied and has perfect feet and legs, as well as a very good hair coat. Summer will have an extremely nice udder when she calves, her teat placement is perfect and her teats are small. Last year at CWA, 891F was the Reserve Junior Heifer Calf Champion and her 3/4 sister, another Justice daughter, was Junior Calf Champion. You can expect a great one out of her mating with Circle Cee Legend. This is the type of female that Legend crosses really well with. Bred to Circle Cee Legend 307A on May 23, 2019.

PICK OF THE BRED HEIFERS Lot 202

PICK OF THE BECK FARMS BRED HEIFERS

It is with great pleasure that we once again offer pick of our bred heifers in this year’s sale. With 60+ bred heifers to choose from, there truly is something for everyone. This group is highlighted by our ever sought after Braxtons, as well as the first group sired by Beck’s Citation 615D, which will be exciting. The majority of the heifers carry the service of DC/ KCM Marksman E1132 PET, who was our pick of the Debruycker bull sale two years ago. Marksman’s first set of calves are standouts. We welcome you to come for a tour and view the heifers during Agribition, as we are located only 30 minutes from Regina. This is one offering not to be missed. Selection to be made by April 1,2020. If heifer selected has a bull calf at side, Beck Farms retains 1/4 interest in the bull calf.

Roxy comes from the heart of our program and we are pleased to be offering her at CWA. She carries a ton of length, muscle and power. 995G comes from the top end of the heifer pen and is out of an absolutely beautiful Kingston female. Roxy has been a standout from day one with the added look and soundness. This breeding combination of Dirty Harry and Kingston has become a staple of ours and will be one that is repeated many times over. This cow family is no stranger to making the good ones, with a high selling heifer of $26,500 coming from the Roxy family last year. Roxy 995G has all the pieces to the puzzle to go so many ways. If it be building powerful bulls or creating front pasture females; she will be an elite addition to any herd.

The lock has been cut off the vault! For this years edition of the Agribition sale we are offering a female that would previously be considered an “untouchable”. Starstruck 938 is the heifer calf at side of Starstruck 712 who has been admired by breeders the world over as one of the most powerful females to come out of our program and the famed Starstruck females. The combo of Starstruck 712 & Starstruck 938 is possibly the most powerful, imposing pair we’ve had the fortune to grace our program. Her sire DR Revelation is known as one of the greatest cow makers in recent times and only adds to the value of this extremely exciting breeding piece. Gucci belongs on the runway. This heifer is a double threat; she is as deep as they come with a presence and style about her that makes it hard to pull your eye away. Gucci is a Commissioner that goes back to a long line of beautiful, power females that continue in our herd today. Of special note in Gucci’s blood line are two of the key cornerstone females at High Bluff, High Bluff Miss Jive 22J, one of the greatest value producing females on our operation and Natassia 120N, a Hank female whose stamp of structure and depth of quarter has earned her a legacy of her own; the Natassia cow family. Gucci’s own dam is a young Triumph and her udder and structure are excellent. We really love our Triumph cows and our bull buyers love the bulls shown by their continued topping of our bull sale. This fall we are selling four heifer calves off our operation, picking your favourite would be splitting hairs but if it’s style you are after you best take a long hard look at Gucci.

This heifer is exactly what her name and that of the cow family says‌Precious is that. She is stout made with plenty shape, correctness and eye appeal. Since birth she has been the first one to come and greet you in the pen or pasture. She stems from our largest cow family of hard working, good milking, large volume females. Precious will be one of the first heifer calves to sell out of SVY Fortress 703E. We are very excited about his first calf crop that look awesome on both sides of the fence. Fortress was our pick of the Starstruck 409B X Crowd Favourite bull calves that raised a stir at Agribition in 2017 and he went on to be Reserve Champion Bull. We are excited to see what Precious 36G will do in her life time and would like to retain the right to a flush at our expense and buyer’s convenience.

Cheerleader is a Justice daughter, just like the bred heifer we are offering in the Agribition sale. Last year at Agribition, two Palgrove Justice daughters were the Junior and Reserve Junior Champion Heifer Calves. Cheerleader 985G is the same quality! This is a deep bodied heifer that is very correct in her makeup and is very feminine. 985G’s mother is a heavy milking, Circle Cee Legend daughter with a great udder and small teat size.

I thought hell would freeze over before anyone would be able to pry a Hot Mess daughter out of my hands, but we are only offering our best from Hopewell. Lil Hottie has all the makings to be a top female in any herd while being backed by a rock solid pedigree! Her dam, SOS Hot Mess 50B, is our pride and joy, being shown successfully as a calf, bred heifer and as a pair. Not only did she show, she’s also worked her butt off for us, weaning off calves at the top of our pen every year while never missing an AI. A comment from Chris Poley when he was out this summer, “she looks so good you could show her this fall as a pair and probably win!” Her sire, SOS Gaucho 139D, has knocked it out of the park once again with his second calf crop. His calves have the perfect combination of hair, depth of body and great muscle expression. The combination of Hot Mess and Gaucho is one you don’t want to miss out on. Lil Hottie will turn some heads in the show ring and go on to be a hard working mama cow.

Empress has been a pasture favourite here all summer and it’s clear to see why! She’s smooth made through her front end and combines that with her impressive depth of body along with great muscle expression - everything her sire, MVY Eagle 54E, leaves in his calves. We had tossed around the idea of showing her alongside her dam, SOS Countess 34E, as 34E is a spitting image of her mother, SOS 116C, who showed successfully as a pair for Springside in 2017. 44G is the kind we strive for. With a maternal powered pedigree that includes Revelation, Chavez, Turton and Grid Maker, Empress is destined to do great things!

McTavish Jewel 60G goes back to one of our foundation females. She comes from a long line of productive females with McTavish Oasis 3X receiving a Gold Star of Distinction in 2017. TR CAG Carbon Copy is an outstanding Rhinestone son out of the great M&M Ms Carbine, the dam of Outsider and was the lead bull in the Thomas Ranch Pen of Three full brothers at the 2018 NWSS. A calving ease bull that will correct structure on his calves and loaded with maternal strength. The Carbine female has been one of the top producing females in our breed for the last number of years. The dam of Rhinestone has also raised the RBM Fargo bull that has been used successfully on both sides of the border. With this combination put together, I think you have one of the most suited bulls to sire front end females. We walked the Carbon Copy bull this spring for 40 days and were really impressed with how solid his structure is from front to back. He is so complete with his flawless design, hoof structure and clean lines. Carbon Copy is our only service sire in the Volume III Female Sale on December 16, 2019. To say we are excited to use a bull of this calibre is an understatement. Our partner, Doll Charolais, is extremely happy with how well he has calved heifers and really compliments him on the type of calves he is producing. Carbon Copy calves will be sought after in the next few years. Here is your chance to purchase semen on one of the most exciting breeding bulls available in 2020. These 100 straws will be the only semen available on Carbon Copy in Canada for the 2020 breeding season.
