FROM THE DESK AT Welcome to the Canadian Collection Speckle Park Female Sale, September 9, 2021, at Champêtre County, St. Denis, Saskatchewan just 40 minutes east of Saskatoon. The past year or two has put a damper on happenings, due to the pandemic, but it has not dampened the spirit of the livestock industry as the consumer has found out the importance of food production. Five leading, progressive breeders come together to present an outstanding offering of Speckle Park seedstock for your evaluation. Colgan’s, Highmark, Green Hills, Ravenworth, and INC are household names in the breed and are known for prolific high quality breeding programs. This event is a production sale; offering bred heifers, 2021 heifer calves (some of a competitive nature), proven brood matrons, and flushes and embryos round up the lineup. With five individual programs, you will find diversity in genetics and phenotype enabling selection opportunities for your front pasture. As the base of the breed widens, more and more breeders need to expand their programs and never too soon, as beef cattle numbers in Canada’s cow herd are the lowest in a few decades. She was our choice of the heifer calves offered from what turned out to be a super flush from Codiak Putnum and Petula of par. She is definitely bred for success. 8G will be on display at the sale so you can see why we are so enthused about her for yourself.
