It has been our pleasure to work with all of our bull customers new and old over the past 20 years, and we look forward to serving you in the future. Thanks again for your support! As always in the cattle industry, it has been another roller coaster year. From record calf prices in the spring, to one of the wettest years we have seen, an e coli scare, $7 corn and an early winter, there really is no time for complacency. We believe in the cattle industry, where it has taken us, and where we are headed in the future.

We are really excited about the direction our cowherd is taking us. We all know that breeding the right kind of cattle does not happen overnight, but we know the kind of cow that works under our conditions. After all these years, we have identified the type of cow that thrives at home, and the neat thing is, it is typically certain cow families that excel. We understand that your cow herd is the backbone of your operation, and we strive to improve the traits that make the Angus cow the ideal fit. You will notice that we talk a lot about the mothers of these bulls in the footnotes, simply because we believe in what they can do for our customer base.

The offering began with 105 bull calves, and will be culled down to the offering you will see sale day. We have been breeding Angus cattle for over 20 years now, and I can truly say that this is the deepest, most consistent group of bulls that we will be bringing to town. The Red pen is loaded with calving ease sires as well as bulls with a bit more punch. We are excited to show you calves off our new herdsire “Hooch,” as well as proven sires we have used in the past. The black pen is full of top end commercial bulls. I think you will agree that the 997 sons are truly the commercial man’s kind of bull, I know we really like them.

The bulls were weaned in early October and were started on screening pellets. In November, the bulls were switched to oats fed at 1% body weight, with silage being introduced in December. Bull development is not a race. They have their whole life ahead of them and we don’t believe in compromising their future for a few more bids on sale day. All bulls will be semen tested by sale day. As always, we back your purchase 100%, so if any issues arise, you can rest assured we will look after you.

You could say these calves are surpassing our expectations. We have never seen such consistency in a group like these 997 calves. The bulls exhibit a great pattern, with lots of natural muscle expression, length of spine, a great foot, abundant hair, added thickness and hip with above average growth. We originally used him on heifers, but the results on the cow herd have been impressive. The daughters have extra rib, are very angular and look to be dropping great udders. A true breeding bull, he covered 50 cows last summer and looked great coming off pasture. Help yourself to the best group of half brothers I think we have ever offered.

In the spring of 2011, we sought out to find a bull that would take our red program to the next level. Being one of the highest appraised Red Angus bulls in the spring of 2010, we are sure excited about what Hooch is doing for our program. His daughters really stick out in the pen. They have extra spring of rib, depth, femininity and style. The bull calves are walking tanks, possessing a tonne of top and hip in a moderate package. We feel so strongly about this bull, we are expecting about 65 calves off him this spring.

Possibly the best part about him, we have used him on both heifers and cows with great success. Hooch is AMF CAF NHF OSF MAF free. His MGS Red Crowfoot Ole’s Oscar 2042M OSF MAF free.

If we didn’t have so many Tyron daughters, he would stay at home. I would rank his dam as either #1 or #2 in the herd and she definitely deserves her elite dam award. At the ripe old age of 12, she still has an amazing udder, unreal spring of rib and an amazing foot. Under no circumstances shall the sellers be responsible for more than the purchase price for said animals.

HEALTH: All cattle can go anywhere in Canada immediately after the sale. All bulls are vet inspected and have passed a breeding soundness evaluation.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Any errors or changes in information contained in the catalogue will be announced from the auction block, and such announcements shall take precedence over information contained herein.

DELIVERY: Free delivery within 200 km radius. Will be delivered at seller’s convenience. All bulls returning to the farm must be insured. $50 discount for bulls picked up sale day! Bulls returning home will have a charge of $2.00 per day.

GUARANTEE: All bulls sell with a reasonable guarantee of satisfaction. In the event of a bull proving to be a non-breeder, the purchaser must notify the seller within 6 months of the purchase date. The seller may either replace the bull with another of equal quality or refund the purchase price if the seller also finds the bull to be a non-breeder. No further liability is assumed and the bulls must be properly cared for. All bulls have been semen tested and physically examined but if a problem arises, please let us know so we can help you.
