Gelbvieh is a continental breed that has very strong maternal traits such as docility and rich milk that is produced in tight, correct udders. Gelbvieh will add that extra muscle to give your calves the extra pounds you’re looking for at sale time. Gelbvieh calves are born with vigor, which is one of the reasons Gelbvieh influenced females wean more pounds of calf per cow exposed. Use Gelbvieh bulls in your cross breeding program to get early maturing, long lasting females, as well as sale topping steer calves. We continue to use a high fiber developer program. We wean the bulls off on oats then after 60 days they are pail fed a bull developer pellet along with barley silage and grass alfalfa hay. This diet develops a healthy rumen, while maintaining good long term health. We target a 3.5 lb. average gain to develop good footed, long lasting bulls that will last for their new owners. Please join us on March 29th in Yorkton to evaluate our bulls and we can talk about your bull needs. BLB 22G is a son of RWG Exact Combination and BLB 2A from the very productive Wilma cow family. He also happens to be a ¾ brother to the 2019 Futurity Champion Bull, BLB 16G. BLB 22G is moderate in stature, soft through his middle and carries his quarter deep down his twist. He patterns very much like 16G in a smaller package. He is smooth through his shoulder which should add to his value as being safe on heifers. BLB 46G is a smooth made, eye appealing, herd sire prospect. He is long spined with a big hip. We showed him this fall winning a Reserve Champion Junior Bull banner. His dam, BLB 4A, is as deep bodied of a cow as you will find in the breed. She is also the dam of our black herd bull, BLB Diplomat 112D, who we share with Fladeland Livestock. 46G is the youngest bull in our offering this year. Posting a WDA of 3.85 and index of 104. One of the smoothest, most eye appealing bulls in the pen. 37G was our feature bull at the pen show at Agribition this year. He has a BW EPD of -0.7 and a WDA of 3.65. 37G is a bull that will sire calves that are born with a moderate birth weight and grow with the best. His dam, 72C, is from our Maxine cow family who have produced breeder bulls that are scattered around western Canada. He won’t be hard to find sale day. Homo Polled.

We are so impressed with our group of black bulls this year. 2G is the first of the RWG Captain sons to feature.This bull has been leading the group all year in both weaning and yearling weights.The Captains exhibit a big rib shape, heavy muscle to go along with their extra long spine. His dam, BLB Wilma 1Y, raises calves that are at the top year after year. She is also from the Wilma family which is deep in maternal traits.This mating has proven to be a success. Homo Polled. If you would like a halter broke bull that is easy to work with these show bulls are the ones for you. He is a favorite of mine. Don’t let the scurs bother you, that doesn’t mean you will get horned calves. It’s a different gene. Homo Polled bulls can carry the scurred gene.

These BLB Eaton 35E sons are all born from first calvers. They were born easy but then took off and grew, weaning off like power bulls. This is a great trait. 11G is an eye appealing bull with a big hip and beautiful wavy hair. A little short in the ear department but brings a little extra everywhere else.
