From the Desk at T Bar…

Welcome to the “Best of the Breeds” Annual Bull Sale, Sunday March 27, 2022, at Heartland Livestock Services, Yorkton, Saskatchewan. This is their 18th anniversary … and “wow” these breeders are getting serious about producing breeder bulls! In the Gelbvieh division, Blair and Lorie have been the source of breeder bulls and ranchers alike for the past decade. Their lineup for 2022 is impressive… homo polled and homo good! Bulls with muscle and hair, and still come with calving ease and performance John at Black Ridge will tell you despite the hot weather and drought, this might be the best set of bull to date. They feature the sons of Lewis 389G and his son Riot. Strong maternally, they will add pounds at weaning while producing daughters that will fill your replacement needs. The boys, at Twin Heritage have become an official supplier of Red Angus for both the rancher and the purebred breeder. No doubt the sons of Detour will be a feature but check out the low-birth-weight opportunities available sale day. Charolais influence founded this event 18 years ago and in 2022 Dogpatch and Harcourt’s have outdone themselves. Many are homo polled, several breeder bull opportunities abound. Whether you are looking for an exciting yearling or a cover-the-cows two-year-old, selection is genetically diverse. Bulls with depth, muscle, hair… pounds of calf at weaning is commonplace using Charolais bulls. Lyle and Ken have come loaded with an outstanding consignment. With power and genetic opportunity, Forden Fairview Farm offers the largest lineup of homo polled fullbloods to sell in addition to the selected purebreds. Breeders pay attention to this powerful offering. Feel free to visit any of these progressive breeding operations prior to the sale or give them a call… they love to visit cattle. The bulls will be available for viewing at the sale barn the day prior. Plan to be with us at the “Best of the Breeds” for your breeding requirements whether it be with us in person, online or on the phone. We have graded the entire offering so feel free to give any of the T Bar C Team a call and we will be pleased to assist you in a professional and confidential manner with your selections. - Chris Poley

Harcourt Charolais Join us for the 18th Edition of the Best of the Breeds bull sale! We invite you to be with us in Yorkton, check out this tremendous lineup of bulls, and enjoy some great hospitality.

To say the past year has been challenging to cattle producers would be an understatement. Widespread drought leading to a 30% reduction in cow herd numbers has led to a beef shortage not seen in years. The decline in cattle numbers has provided an opportunity to cash in on high calf prices in the next five years, making bull buying decisions even more important. We are excited to share the new genetics in the bull pen this year. These herdsires are industry leaders that combine bull power with calving ease that we always strive to provide our customers. Our family is looking forward to seeing you in Yorkton on March 27th!

THE BEST OF THE BREEDS

LT Nationwide is a bull we used to shorten gestation and add calving ease without sacrificing performance. Boy did he deliver! He was widely used throughout the industry and the reports are that he didn’t disappoint. The sons are early maturing with large testicles. The muscle mass and shape are truly impressive. He consistently shortened gestation by a week to ten days calving like a dream. Unfortunately, no more semen is available so getting a top son for your operation is imperative.

Sire of Lots 79 - 83:

LT Nationwide 8455 PLD ET

HBC 108J is another in a pen full of top Nationwide sons. He combines calving ease with explosive growth while keeping sound free moving structure. He will add shape, length and pounds to any calf crop. His maternal sister HBC 930G is the mother of a top Carbon Copy son in this sale, HBC 109J. Strength and power in the cow family makes 108J a very predictable offering. Check him out sale day!

Double Polled. HBC 103J is a great young calving ease bull out of a top producing Braxton daughter that never misses. Last year’s SVY Wizard son was our second high seller to Poplar Bluff Charolais. Smooth, long and sound footed. He would be a great bull to drop in your heifer pen. He will calve very easily and stamp his calves with perfect structure and that look that draws in the buyers. He is one to watch!

Talk about longevity. 19X gets it done again at the age of 12. This cow never slows down. A consistent top end producer with great feet and udder. 113J is moderate and sound. He will calve easy and add pounds to those calves that top the market.

Sire of Lots 84 & 85 :

TR CAG Carbon Copy 7630E ET These two sons of the U.S. National Champion Carbon Copy are moderate framed, long bodied and built to last. They are definite calving ease bulls that will add style and growth to those calves that will top the market.

What a stylish, balanced and functional Carbon Copy with tons of rib shape. This is the kind of bull we were hoping for when we purchased semen on Carbon Copy. Long spined, extended front end that will calve like a dream on anything you cross him with. He’s the first calf out of a great Stetson female with tremendous udder quality. Definitely a sale feature!

This bull has been special since birth. Really correct, low birthweight, big footed and super gentle! HVA Fireball 662F We really like our Fireball calves. They have extra length, hair and performance and are super quiet. We all know about what Duty Free has done and we feel that Fireball is perhaps his best son. Those bulls will add pounds to your calf crop while maintaining calving ease. Some unique polled genetics here. Check them out!

101J follows the Fireball image to a tee. Long sided, correct and hairy with great feet. His Sparrows Divergent dam is a picture perfect cow. Moderate, deep sided and feminine fronted with a great udder. She is a cow that everyone spots when they tour the herd.
