From the desk at T Bar… Welcome to the 14th Edition of the “Best of the Breeds Bull Sale.” Each year this sale increases in quality, as these breeders have strived to make available the best genetics in their individual breeds and programs for the livestock industry. Since cross-breeding is commonplace in today’s industry, the line up of breeds can fill all your pasture requirements with just one trip to town...it’s a no brainer! Each program selects only their best bulls for this event. Whether you are looking for Angus, red and black; Gelbvieh, both red and black; Charolais, or Simmental, red, black, blaze or Fleckvieh, you will find what you need. The diversity of breeds and breeders give you a vast genetic pool to select from. Each of these breeders pride themselves in their programs and cow herds, trying to maintain a high maternal factor in the bulls without giving up performance. The bulls will be available for viewing at Heartland the day prior or feel free to visit any of the breeder’s farms, preview the bulls and see their mothers. Do not hesitate to call any of the consignors and discuss their lineup and which bulls would be suitable for your program. Welcome to the 14th annual Best of the Breeds Bull Sale. We are very excited about the bulls we will have on offer once again this year. We will have both red and black bulls that will work both on heifers, as well as performance bulls to produce those scale busting steers. Our bulls come from good footed, neat uddered, low maintenance cows. At Goodview we put a lot of emphasis on our cows, so you can buy with confidence knowing that the bull you purchased is from a sound problem free cow herd. Gelbvieh is a continental breed that has very strong maternal traits such as docility and rich milk that is produced in tight correct udders. Gelbvieh will add that extra muscle to give your calves the extra pounds you’re looking for at sale time. Gelbvieh calves are born with vigor, which is one of the reasons Gelbvieh influenced females wean more pounds of calf per cow exposed. Use Gelbvieh bulls in your cross breeding program to get early maturing, long lasting females, as well as sale topping steer calves. We continue to use the same feeding program, which is a high fiber bull developer pellet that is mixed with whole oats, bunk fed barley oat silage and a grass alfalfa mixed hay. This diet develops a healthy rumen, while maintaining good long term health. We target a 3.5 pound average gain to develop good footed, long lasting bulls that will last for their new owners. Please join us on March 25th in Yorkton to evaluate our bulls and we can talk about your bull needs. Tag 708E is very complete in his makeup. He is very structurally correct with the eye appeal to match. He is without a doubt our top herdsire prospect. Sired by BLB Wrocker 20W, who is also the grandsire of Flad Roc M Soc M the 2013 Futurity Champion. Wrocker sires very long, deep sided cattle with above average hair and hip muscle structure. You will notice the similar style of his sons, as you continue along in our sale offering. 708E’s dam is an Outback daughter from the very productive and consistent Lovebug cow family. Tag 737E is a bull we are very excited about. A bull with a 72 pound birth weight that has grown out to be very stylish and eye appealing. He is sired by SLC Starbucks 62B, a bull that we used on our heifers and performance cows. He sires very attractive calves that are deep sided, have a long strong top line, with good hair and dark red in color. We sold a paternal sibling to 737E at the Prairie Alliance this fall, where she was well accepted by many who saw her. 737E dam, BLB 55C is from our Wilma cow family. If you were to follow our program, you would see them come up time and time again. 55C is a black Outback daughter going back to Holman and Garth. She did a very good job with her first calf and we are excited about her future. 55C full sibling is the dam of 715E, who also sells in this sale. BLB 737E is a sure fit in many purebred programs, not only for his EPDs but his pedigree is just a little different. Moleski Family Black Ridge Bulls Eye 3B Sons This is the second set of calves from a bull whom we raised and used ourselves. Two years ago, he was used almost strictly as cleanup in one pasture but last year we let him out and he bred 50 cows. He combines S A V Harvestor 0338 and our old donor cow 60K. In our opinion, she was the best Whitestone Widespread female raised here. A neat twist in the pedigree is that her grandma was born 44 years ago – in 1974! These calves have tremendous performance; they are super deep and have lots of hair. They also carry a big old hoof and are very heavy boned. All the calves have been born unassisted; they come out long and fast and then they grow and they don’t look back.

We focus our breeding on the main areas that cattlemen look at when purchasing a new bull; calving ease, growth and performance, hair, soundness and docility. We provide stout, moderate framed bulls that can get out and service your cows. We are pleased with this yearâ€™s offering as it exemplifies our breeding program.

This year the majority of our bulls are sired by our senior herd sire MVY All Star 61A. In 2016, two of his sons hit $10,000.00 each to Perrot Charolais at Naicam and Ryan Stolson from Hodgeville. Another son sold for $32,000.00 in another sale. Many more sons were snapped up by keen eyed cattlemen. In 2017 we had no ALL Star sons, only daughters, which we retained for our herd. We are excited to be able to offer his progeny again for you to take advantage of. We also have the last group of CSS Gridmaker calves available from our program. This group is younger but exhibits the structural soundness, thickness and hair coats that is synonymous with the Gridmaker cattle. Last but not least are some AI calves from a few sires that have proven their acceptance in the industry. Cederdale Zeal for his calving ease, Kayr Velocity for his performance and a new bull, CJC Symbol which we are quite pleased with, that maintains the calving ease and can really add some muscle. We are dedicated breeders with a great set of bulls. For our customers, we keep a few bulls in reserve for your insurance in case you have a wreck . You can drive a long way and look at a lot of two-year-old Charolais bulls before you find a better bull than this powerful herd bull stamp. New this year, are the first sons of MRL Avenger 19C. He is a Discovery son we purchased from the great program at McMillen Ranching at Carievale, SK. His first son, Nighthawk, is quite possibly the best black bull we have ever produced. In addition we have some new genetics in both the red and black programs that along with our Fleckvieh bulls make this year’s offering one we are excited about. All bulls are Express Veriﬁed and treated with Pyramid FP 5 Presponse spring and fall. The bulls also receive double vaccination of fusogard for prevention of foot rot. We’d like to invite everyone to our Bull Pen Open House at the farm March 17 & 18 from 1-5 PM. In their program, he is the performance Fleckvieh bull that adds length and muscle to his calves. A maternal brother was sold to Howard Dobson a couple years ago (his 12th bull from FFF). When Howard started buying bulls from my dad 15 years ago, one of the key reasons was because our bulls are very quiet. This is a key attribute that we continue to focus on today and we thank Howard for his trust and confidence all these years. Zane is a bigger framed bull that was the 2nd ranking bull at yearling time.

The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance, unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.

Liabilities:

Each animal will sell to the highest bidder. In the case of a dispute, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved in the dispute. If no further bidding is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision on all disputes will be final.

All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and sale manager assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur. It is understood that T Bar C Cattle Co. Ltd. is acting only as a medium between buyer and seller and is not responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations. Neither does T Bar C Cattle Co. Bidding:

All announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay close attention to such disclosures.

Breeder’s Guarantee:

Should any bull fourteen (14) months of age or over fail to prove a breeder after being used on females known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six (6) months following the date of purchase or six (6) months after the bull has reached fourteen (14) months of age. The seller will have the right and privilege of six (6) months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will freeze.

The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.

Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone, wire or mail their bids and instructions to the sale managers, auctioneer or special representatives. Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale.

We will assist in making transportation arrangements outside MB and SK. All costs are the responsibility of the buyer. You may be asked to take your bull early if the truck is in your area. Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold.

Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Charolais, Angus, Simmental, and Gelbvieh Associations. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.
