irst off, welcome to the 2019 edition of the Autumn Angus Classic Sale, this being the 11th annual sale. The Saturday of the Labour Day weekend has become a ritual for Angus breeders to gather and to evaluate some of the finest Angus cattle available on the North American landscape. All of us here at T Bar C are excited to be conducting not only the AAC Sale, but also the entire weekend of Labour Day with the North Perth Dispersal on Sunday. This promises to be a great weekend of Angus cattle, fellowship and memories. Now let’s talk about the cattle on offer. The cow calf pair section is bar none the deepest quality we have ever had at AAC, which is a strong statement after last year’s very successful sale. I truly believe there are more donor type quality females available in this offering than ever before. Cow families that are proven, popular and in demand. Mated to exclusive, yet rare, sires or proven and experienced bulls that have stood the test of time. Heifer calves at side that are extremely worthy and eye catching with the freshest genetics injected into them that you can’t find on a daily basis. Please take this section of the catalogue and study it thoroughly. Next is the bred heifers, also the largest section of the sale. The approximately 50 heifers that have been hand selected are as dreamy as you’ll witness. Future matrons of the breed, I dare say this pen is as good as it gets. Many among them are deep bodied stout girls that have a distinct look and paperwork to match it. Speaking of paperwork, take a close look at some of the flush sisters that are available. Many of them have cow families backing them generations deep. Included in this year’s event is the Neilcairn Dispersal. Bob and Helen Darby have been raising superior Angus cattle since 1996. Their offering looks exceptional, bred for profit and temperament like none other. Please look over their offering, in past year’s their cattle have been featured through this very event. Special thanks to Bob over the years and his commitment to the AAC Sale. Also in this year’s event is a very special frozen genetics portion. We have the first embryos to ever be offered off S A V America and also the entire semen and embryo tank from the famed Locust Grove herd. A sale feature for sure! In concluding, we hope you can make plans for a great Angus weekend in mid-western Ontario. We have a lineup of cattle on both days that are worthy of anyone’s time and effort. AUTUMN ANGUS CLASSIC 2019

After much thought, we have decided to move forward in our lives and have a dispersal sale of our cattle. Decisions such as this are never easy, however, at this point in our lives we are ready to pursue other interests. In the fall of 1996 we bought our first Angus heifer from Dodswood Farms. Glenn Copeland was the farm manager at that time. Over the years, Glenn was very helpful in building our herd with his vast knowledge of Angus cattle and he stressed the importance of using EPDs as a tool in sire and dam selection. We named our farm Neilcairn in remembrance of Bob’s father Neil Darby and his Scottish ancestry. Neil was very fond of Black Angus cattle. Over the years, we have participated in a variety of venues across Ontario buying and selling cattle. We have enjoyed working with Angus cattle. Also, we have developed enjoyable relationships with other breeders. A highlight for us was in 2014 when Neilcairn Upward 44A was Junior Champion Bull at the Royal Winter Fair. We would like to thank Chris Poley and the staff at T Bar C Cattle Co. Ltd. for their help and Ben Wright for his successful efforts in organizing the Autumn Angus Classic Sale every year.
