As in Alberta Select tradition, we welcome our commercial bull buyers to our event. We will once again be drawing for over $10,000 in bull sale credits that will be awarded to numerous commercial bull buyers from across Alberta and BC. If you have bought a Charolais bull in the past 2 years all you need to do to be eligible for these draws is to show up in Red Deer on December 9 and enter your name into our draw.

The lucky winners will be announced during our pen of 3 bull show.

The Alberta Charolais Association also would like to welcome 4-H members from across the province that have shown their commitment to the Charolais breed by exhibiting Charolais sired projects at their local achievement shows. We will once again be awarding sale credits to eligible 4-H members that can be used in the Alberta Select Sale to assist in the purchase of their 2017 4-H project. Once again all you need to do is bring your ticket from the Alberta Charolais Association and register your name in the 4-H draw that will take place before the Alberta Select Sale.

The 2016 edition of the Alberta Select Sale is stacked with some of the breeds top genetics from leading breeders from Alberta and BC. The breeders have open up their herds to TBarC and they have only selected the cream of the crop from each breeding establishment that is taking part in this prestigious event.

If you are wanting to get a preview of what might be available for your potential new herd bull, the Alberta Select is the perfect place to come. In total, over 40 bull calves will be on display from breeders all across Alberta an BC. It would take you days of travel and thousands of miles to go and look at all the bull calves you can see in one heated facility on December 8 and 9. Take advantage of this opportunity!

elcome to the 2016 Alberta Select Charolais sale. Our team at T Bar C Cattle Co. Ltd. is extremely excited to be a part of this great event.

Alberta Select has become the “must attend” event in Alberta during the fall

sale season, for breeders from coast to coast.

The sale continues to be the one you can’t miss, as the consignors let us select from only the top of their programs. It was not always easy to get the ones we wanted, but when you are not settling for anything less than the best, that is to be expected. Only in a sale of this calibre can you as breeders take the opportunity to select from proven donor cows, young cows destined to make the donor pen, bred heifers that will simply amaze, heifer calves that will be in the forefront all next summer and semen from a many times champion bull. The opportunities are endless and if you are serious about the Charolais breed, you cannot afford to miss this event.

The bull show on Thursday night will once again give you the chance to personally view the top herd sire prospects from the entire province of Alberta and all under one roof. As usual, the pen bull show will be held Friday morning, geared toward our commercial breeders who are the life blood of this great breed. Be sure to be in attendance for the opportunity to share in the $10,000.00 commercial bull buyer’s bull sale credits.

In the Spring of 2016, we were lucky enough to host over 200 breeders from across Canada at Circle Cee. Our bred heifer pen left a lasting impression on several breeders. Included are ET females out of Benelli and Firewater and the great 302N, Firestruck daughters and daughters out of our Senior Herdsire, Dilemma. Our heifer pen is not large, but there is quality throughout. This selection will not be easy. Several breeders had chosen different heifers as their pick of the pen during the tour and in visits throughout the summer. We had the opportunity to select a great set of females from Future Farms and they did not disappoint - when you can bring females like this to town, it is very exciting. This heifer’s dam is becoming a herd favorite.

Rules and Regulations •The Contest is open to all 4-H members in the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia exhibiting 4-H beef projects with a Charolais influence in 2016.

•All entrants must be a member of good standing and show proof of membership in an active 4-H club in Alberta or British Columbia for the 2017 year in a beef project to be eligible for the contest.

•Entrants must be between the ages of 9 and 20 as of December 31, 2016 to be eligible for the contest.

•All entrants will be required to register at the designated 4-H table prior to 12pm, December 9, 2016 at the Red Deer Westerner Grounds in Red Deer, Alberta in order to be eligible for the contest.

•All entrants must be present at the Red Deer Westerner Grounds in Red Deer, AB on December 9, 2016 in order to be eligible for the contest.

•Qualified entrants will be randomly drawn on December 11, 2016 at 1pm for sale credits of one $2000 credit and one $1000credit for the Alberta Charolais Select Sale 2016 held that same day in the same facility. Consolation prizes will also be awarded.

•The credits must be used for the 2016 Alberta Select Sale and carries a maximum value of $2000 and $1000.

•The credits can be used to purchase any lot(s) in the 2016 Alberta Select Sale. This includes all live animals, embryos, semen in the 2016 sale.

•The credits hold no cash value and if not redeemed for a purchase in the 2016 Alberta Select Sale will be null and void.

•The credits are non transferrable.

641D POLLED This is the highest performing heifer calf from our 2016 calf crop.

On October 10, 2016 she weighed in at 1135 pounds.

Plain and simple, this heifer calf is a powerhouse. Some people will say she’s a little too big to be a show heifer but this is the kind of female that will produce herd bulls that will top any sale in the country. All summer long when people toured our pastures, this is the one that caught their attention and made them ask, “Who is that heifer calf?”

A full brother, CML Shockwave 566C who sold to Spring Valley Holdings for $10,000 in our 2016 bull sale, had the highest yearling WPDA of all our 2015 bull calves. CML Dusty 641D is a definite donor cow prospect.

The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final.

Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Charolais Association, unless otherwise stated. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.

HEALTH: All animals in the sale have met all necessary health requirements.

GUARANTEE: Each animal becomes the purchaser’s risk immediately after the animal is sold. All animals in this sale will be sold under the terms and guarantees set forth by the appropriate breed association with regard to health, freedom from defects and from both reproductive and specific genetic unsoundness.

PREGNANCY INFORMATION: All serviceable age females have been pregnancy examined by an accredited veterinarian, giving an estimated length of gestation. This estimated gestation period shall be used only as a guideline to calving and is not a guarantee of actual service.

The Alberta Charolais Association will once again be offering memberships for $100 that will make you eligible for the $10,000 Pick of the Barn draw.

If your name is drawn as the lucky winner of the $10,000 Pick of the Barn draw, you will have the option to use a $10,000 credit in the Alberta Select Sale towards the purchase of any lot(s) in the sale or to use a $10,000 credit towards the purchase of any bull calf entered in either the single or pen bull show.

If you are interested in purchasing a membership to the $10,000 Pick of the Barn, contact any of the ACA directors or any of the consignors to the Alberta Select Sale and they will be happy to get you a membership. Memberships will also be available on December 8 and 9 in Red Deer.
