On behalf of the Alberta Charolais Association and the consignors of the Alberta Select Pen Show and Sale, we would like to invite you to this impressive Charolais event! It is a one of a kind opportunity to connect with fellow Charolais enthusiasts and to source leading edge genetics. It truly is an exciting time to be in the Charolais breed! From the sale ring to the show ring, Charolais cattle are making a notable and profitable impact. Speaking of excitement, a highlight of this year’s sale will certainly be the Lot 1 bull, the 2018 $50,000 Player’s Club Champion! The Alberta Charolais Association is once again proud to offer a $1,000 Alberta Select Sale credit to any 4-H member that previously exhibited a Charolais or Charolais cross steer or heifer in 4-H. We truly appreciate your commitment to the Charolais breed and would like to support you in purchasing your next project! 4-H members, all you need to do is bring your ticket that you received from the Alberta Charolais Association or a picture of your last year’s Charolais or Charolais influenced project and register your name upon arrival at the sale. Then you will automatically have a $1,000 credit to be used at the Alberta Select Sale! True to the name of this sale, you will find a top selection of females and genetic opportunities from herds across Alberta and BC. As you peruse the catalogue, you will see that T Bar C has selected the cream of the crop for this sale and there truly is something for everyone. Do not hesitate to give the consignors or T Bar C a call to discuss the offering. Be sure to purchase your ticket for the chance to win a $10,000 sale credit to be used at this year’s sale or to put towards any bull in the barn! Tickets can be purchased from any of the consignors. The Single Bull Show and Pen Show portion of this event offers a unique opportunity for both purebred and commercial cattleman alike to source out a potential new herd sire. Upwards of 50 bulls will be available for you to analyze under one roof and in a heated facility! While you’re touring the barns, you can also pick up your copy of the ACA’s new Breeder’s Directory, just printed this fall! We would like to extend a big thank-you to the past organizers of this Charolais powered weekend. Many people have worked hard to get this industry leading function up and running. We would especially like to thank Rod and April McLeod for their time and effort in organizing this event the past few years. Your creativity, dedication and hard work has helped develop this into an elite event and for that we thank you. This two day event involves great cattle, great people, great food and is definitely one to mark on your calendar! Please plan on heading to the Alberta Select Pen Show and Sale December 6 and 7 at the Red Deer Westerner. We would be honored to have you join us!

elcome to the 2018 edition of the Alberta Select Pen Bull Show and Sale at the Westerner in Red Deer, December 6 and 7. A feature event that allows Charolais breeders west of the Saskatchewan border to participate, consign and display their respective programs. This show and sale offers unique two-fold opportunities. For the purebred sector it is a production sale for many and a preview of all the leading herd sire prospects available in the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia. For farmers and ranchers, in addition to seeing the great herd sire prospects, you get to view a cross-section of programs that will be selling bulls next spring. Take a moment to meet and visit with them. Let’s not forget youth in agriculture! Again this year, the Alberta Charolais Association continues their 4-H credit sponsorship for all juniors that showed a Charolais steer or heifer in 2018…the $1,000.00 sponsorship will go a long way in selecting your 2019 project out of this top lineup of heifer calves.
The sale offering is powerful and represents a cross-section of all the progressive programs. Whether you are looking for a front pasture bred female, a fancy heifer calf with a competitive edge or a chance at the exclusive picks, the Alberta Select Sale can fill your bill. In a sale of this nature, the fresh genetic diversity will add value to your program. Plan to be with us, it will be worth the trip! If we, at T Bar C, may be of any assistance prior to or sale day, feel free to contact any of the T Bar team for professional and confidential assistance. Chris Poley

Players Club
The Alberta Charolais Association is pleased to host the 2018 National Charolais Show at FarmFair International in Edmonton this November. A new and exciting concept called “The Player’s Club” was launched during the National Show week, where memberships were sold and a Champion determined by the members of the group. Over 30 top bull calves from across Canada will compete for $50,000 cash and the title of “Player’s Club Champion”. The ACA will assume ownership of the Player’s Club Champion and as a way to incorporate the National Show and the Alberta Select Sale, the ACA is pleased to offer 3/4 Interest and Full Possession in the Champion in this sale! At the time of print of this catalogue, the event has not yet occurred, so please check www.buyagro. com and/or www.albertacharolais.com for more information and pictures on the Champion after November 12, 2018. No semen can be sold or gifted from the Player’s Club Champion in Canada until 2020 by the purchaser of this lot as semen will be exclusive to the Player’s Club membership. International semen sales (including every other country other than Canada) are not restricted in any way or form. Semen may be collected for use by the 1/4 interest owner and the ‘purchaser’ of this lot at their expense. All semen will be collected at Bow Valley Genetics. The bull will be sent to Bow Valley Genetics in Brooks, Alberta as soon as he is deemed to be ready and must freeze the required amount of semen for all Player’s Club members prior to being able to be released to the new owner. The ACA will cover the costs of collecting semen for the Player’s Club membership. Every effort will be made to collect semen in a timely manner but all bulls respond to collection differently and therefore the ACA cannot guarantee when the bull will be available for natural breeding. The Player’s Club Champion will be on display at the Alberta Select, so if you missed seeing him in Edmonton, be sure to be in Red Deer! If you have any questions, any ACA Board Member or the sales staff of T Bar C will be happy to answer them for you. This is an incredible opportunity to own the Top Charolais Bull Calf in the country, voted on by the Top Charolais Breeders in the country!
After November 12, 2018 be sure to check www.buyagro.com and/or www. albertacharolais.com for more information and pictures of the Champion. Page 2

Pick Of Any Female
In June of this year we were honoured to host part of the Alberta Charolais Association tour. It was an outstanding turnout with lots of positive feedback on our cattle. We feel the cow herd is very solid and so decided it was time to offer a pick of ANY female we own! We have never before sold a female in a sale. The purchaser will get the opportunity to pick through all 300 head of bred cows, bred heifers and heifer calves. Our purebreds are our livelihood. There are no outside jobs here! The cows are moderate framed, tidy uddered, heavy milking, functional females that are easy to handle, have excellent dispositions and are under a full herd health protocol. They start calving the end of January and have a tight breeding period. Most of the females are sired by or bred to these herd sires: - Elder’s Hernandez 17E (Keys Jackson) - RGP Bell Ringer 133E (High Bluff Bodacious) - WGD Mr. Kizz 2E (Thunder Roll 69Z) - Pleasant Dawn MVP 316Y (P.D. Magnum) - Steppler’s BluePrint 64C(LT Blue Value) - Cederlea Shoeless Joe 83C (Circle Cee Legend) - Cederlea Gridmaster 22Z (CSS Gridmaker) - Cederlea Lincoln 28D (Circle Cee Legend) We sell between 60-70 bulls at our annual High Country Bull Sale which is going into its 45th year. Make your pick of any female prior to our annual bull sale which is on March 2. 2019. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call.

Selling Choice of 3 Full Sisters The best of Prairie Cove Charolais
Lot 3A - Miss Prairie Cove 806F
We mated Miss Prairie Cove 407B to Turton hoping for big things and that is exactly what happened. These ET sisters represent exactly what we are striving to build and breed here at Prairie Cove. These females possess big bodies , easy fleshing ability, sensational hair and that attractive look that we try and have in all our cattle. These Turton females have proven to work in many facets of the industry including the show ring and production, as seen last fall at Agribition with the high selling bull extravaganza Serhienko put on last year. All those high selling bulls were out of a highly productive Turton daughter. These females are sound and exhibit fantastic udder attachments and milk and always stay fleshy and attractive. Miss Prairie Cove 407B has been a highly productive donor female. Her first calf was a wonderful heifer calf that was a $16,000 high seller that went to our friends, the Trasks. Watch for big things coming from this female as well! We kept PCC 407B open the following year to flush and to build up an embryo bank. This proved to work well as this calendar year we have 13 calves on the ground and they all look awesome. As you can see we are offering our best here at the Alberta Select, as we always do. These three females will lead you into the future with the strongest of pedigrees backed with proven producers. These females combine performance with their heavy weights yet moderate frame and easy fleshing ability, with also keeping the sound structure we strive for and always having the “look” we love and the hair we always have. Return on investment on these sisters will be high!

This Turton x Miss Prairie Cove 309A cross has worked so extremely well! Last year one of our high selling heifer calves, Miss Prairie Cove 714F (Tuna), the massive bodied favorite by many to see her and our good friends the Trasks bought at Alberta Select is a full sister to Miss Prairie Cove 704E as well as Cays Full House, a high selling bull in the spring PCC Bull Sale to Charolais enthusiast, Steppler Farms. Cays Full House was also Junior Bull Calf Champion at Canadian Western Agribition. Miss Prairie Cove 704E is no exception on her high quality that her brother and sisters have exhibited. As an added bonus she is bred to the most popular Charolais bull in the USA, M & M Outsider 4003 PLD. Outsider has sired many champions and adds such an attractive look to his offspring. This first mating could easily pay for the entire female in the first shot, don’t miss on this big time opportunity. AI bred to M & M Outsider 4003 PLD on April 1, 2018.

The first ever, M & M Outsider 4003 PLD female to sell at auction in Canada and what a special female she is. Outstanding pedigree on this female, the BCC5 Elsie donor dam of 805E is a very impressive beast when you see her in real life, massive rib shape and big time presence down in Iowa at Boyerts. These Outsiders are all the rage in the USA. Miss Prairie Cove 805E is extra long necked and an added rib than most, smooth made and attractive look as well as still possessing performance that’s needed in all Charolais cattle. Completely different pedigree to build a cow family around, outcross for all you pedigree fanatics out there. Everyone talks about finding something new and different, well here she is ladies and gentlemen!

She is safe to our newest herdsire, Easton, a homozygous polled son of HRJ Maverick and the best Circle Cee Legend daughter in production at Horseshoe E. 715E is deep bodied, thick and yet is stylish and belongs in your front pasture. We were fortunate to partner with Springside in 2016 and purchase 352Y out of the Steppler Piece of the Program Sale, where she was the high seller. She has since entered our ET program and Bliss and Flawless are the results of the inaugural flush. Both heifer calves are sired by the CML Gusto bull whose progeny you will see featured in the major shows this fall. Bliss will be in the Circle Cee string at the National Show in Edmonton and is everything you would want in a show heifer. Gentle, fancy and eye appealing with a terrific hair coat. Flawless is a little bigger and broodier then her sister but is equally impressive. Take your pick, or better yet take them both! No better way to start a cow family then with these two foundational pieces! Watch for a video online at www.circlecee.com in the near future.

BW: 82 lbs. 205 DW: 758 lbs. 365 DW: 1178 lbs. Selling the right to one sole conventional flush or IVF cycle with a guarantee of six (6) freezable embryos or two (2) shared conventional flushes or IVF cycles partnered with Circle Cee. All embryo work will be done at Transova Missouri and costs associated with the flush will be the responsibility of the purchaser. Here is one of the most intriguing opportunities you will be presented with this fall! We were fortunate to purchase a new, powerful, unique donor in Missouri this spring from Hankin’s Farms as she topped the Renaissance sale in April. HF Tyra 1327 PET is out of Hankin’s premier cow family and is one we are very familiar with. With our partner, Medonte Charolais, we imported a maternal sister to 1327 a few years ago and have sold ET bull calves off a flush of her dam, 717, in the past few years. Tyra 1327 has already produced a herd sire for Bradley Cattle and a fancy show heifer for Braden Booth who was very competitive at the AIJCA Junior Nationals in Iowa this summer. Once you watch her video and admire her picture, you will see why we are so excited to bring these genetics up to Canada. Tyra is still in Missouri and has an outstanding late August daughter sired by RMB Fargo at side. She will remain in the United States until the calf is a bit older and can handle the trip up to Alberta. In the meantime, she is open and ready to be flushed to the outcross American bull of your choice! Imagine finally getting that new outcross herdsire or fancy show heifer…opportunity awaits! Selling Choice of Flush Mates
Lot 9A - ONL Miss Allie 33F
Nothing haunts us like the things we don’t buy! This is a rare opportunity to own a direct “Allie” (JIL Misty 123Z) daughter!! We literally cannot say enough good things about this cow and what she has done for our program. She has been a complete game changer for us. After a successful show career as a bred, she entered our donor pen and set the bar high! She is the dam of the 2018 Reserve National Champion Charolais Bull at Denver, ONL AWR Cool Cub 7C. She is also the dam of the two year old cow we showed this fall, ONL Miss Allie 6D, who was Champion Charolais Female at Olds Fall Classic. The 123Z cow can be counted on to combine jaw dropping phenotype, excellent udders, great feet and the ability to flat out produce! These heifer calves are no exception! We recently sold Allie to Aces Wild Ranch in Texas; she was a tough one to part with and therefore there will be very few direct Allie daughters leave our herd! Here’s the thing though - it gets even better!! When we first started in the Charolais breed and purchased Allie from Future Farms, we also purchased RPJ Miss Trim 298Z at the Perrot Martin Dispersal. We always wanted to cross these two cow families and these heifer calves are exactly what we had in mind! ONL Chara 4B is a bull we raised and sold to Wilgenbusch Charolais, where he is still at work. His dam, the 298Z cow, is our other foundation donor. She consistently raises docile, easy fleshing cattle that look great and milk awesome! We always say that when we are old and sitting in a seniors home, that we will still be talking about the 123Z cow and 298Z cow – the cows that anchored our start in this great breed. We will forever be grateful for these two leading ladies and now here’s your chance to own a beautiful combination of two front pasture females! We are selling choice of these two embryo flush mates that were born on the same day – think of it like a test where there is no wrong answer! We love them both – so take your pick and we will happily take the other one home! Follow us on Facebook at Daines Cattle & O’Neill Livestock for updated pictures and videos!

Her power, attractiveness and temperament alone make this female one to take a close look at! Then add in the fact that knocking on 10 years old, her mother is still a top producer for us and the mother of ONL Chillin’ It, who is a very successful sire with JD Cattle in Nebraska. The 910W cow breeds back every year, even the year we snuck this flush in on her after calving! If 910W was a woman, she’d be the one that everyone asks what kind of cream she uses – she maintains her youthful look with ease! With the gentle nature of this heifer calf, she would be great for a junior member to take on and show, or kick her out, breed her and let her go to work as a long time consistent producer in your herd! Cool Cowboy 8E - Half Brother to 31F
ONL Daddy Cool 4C - Sire
The 4A cow is a bit of an unsung hero in our herd. Marge faithfully works hard for us every year. She’s as reliable as they come. 4A is one of our bigger cows, who has terrific feet and an udder that will stand the test of time. This heifer calf is sired by ONL Daddy Cool 4C, who in 2017 was Champion Charolais Bull at Farmfair and Champion Senior Bull at Agribition. ONL Daddy Cool 4C was the sire of our high selling bull in our bull sale this spring, WGD Cool Cowboy 8E, to Danny Hansen. After his show halter was hung up, he headed to the great folks at Wilgenbusch Charolais. His mother is one of our best milking cows. This heifer is extremely attractive in her lines, great haired and nice to be around! She will be a fun one to watch develop into a bred and a reliable producer in the future! Follow us on Facebook at Daines Cattle & O’Neill Livestock for updated pictures and videos!

Here is one sweet female that is so easy on the eyes that the more you look, the more you like. Feeling Crazy is another winning combination of Crowd Favourite and Doubletree; this cross has worked wonderful in our herd creating big bellied, smooth made functional type cattle. This heifer’s dam, HRJ 535C is well on her way to be a leading lady in our herd with her first calf being a bull and going to work in Dessert Land and Cattle’s heifer pen and then producing this gem. This heifer is so attractive through her lines and out through her skull yet still carrying a big hip and soft belly. In 2017 the Crowd Favourite heifer calves that were sold across Canada were one of the high averaging sire groups, making them a very sought-after breeding piece. 821F is the type of female that cow families are built around.

We couldn’t come to terms as to which one of these heifers we would part with so we are leaving it in the hands of the prospective buyer. These pair of Bandit heifer calves carry similar features yet are unique in their own way. When we came across Bandit we analyzed his cow family and we were hooked. Bandit was used solely in our heifer pen with great success, his calves come easy and hit the ground running. Fat Chance 846F comes from a work horse of a female that we acquired from Daines Cattle and what a great introduction she was, producing a home run of a first calf. Fat Chance is huge middled, long spined and possesses great character and extension in her front end. Flash Dance comes from a beautiful first calf heifer that is backed by a strong cow family that has been a huge asset in our herd. Flash Dance is a moderate tank of a heifer with a personality and disposition that anyone can fall in love with. Be it Fat Chance or Flash Dance either way you so choose you won’t lose!

“Holy Moses Baby!” What a total sweetheart of a heifer! If you ever wanted to be in the winner’s circle, I totally recommend VFF 113F. 113F’s dam has been a total standout for us. Her bull calves have topped our sale ever year. With sons selling to Dr. Mark Roibaille, Bellingham Ranch, Primose Cattle Company and Darren Issaac. 58X is a total no miss cow. 113F is sired by our bull we purchased from Elder Charolais. We are really excited to have the opportunity to participate in this great event. This will be our first offering of a Charolais at a consignment sale, so we are bringing our very best. This summer at the Alberta Charolais Tour, this heifer was picked by many as our top. We got her in dam with the cows we purchased from Kay-R Charolais. Her mother is a great uddered, now three year old with lots of milk. She is turning into one of our best young cows. 717E’s sire is a bull Kacey and Elders bought for an old outcross pedigree that’s proven on the maternal side. This heifer is sure to milk and should have a good udder.AI bred to our new, exciting Copyright bull owned with McLeods. AI bred to CML Copyright 714E ET on May 5, 2018. They say you have to sell the good ones, so here she is. FVC Jessie’s Girl 6E could be the best bred heifer that we have raised to date! You have to admire the depth and volume that she possesses. Sired by HBSF Specialist 108U and a SOS Up In Smoke daughter, 24W, she has a pedigree that screams performance. 24W is a heavy milking, honest cow that is a sweetheart to get along with. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to take this bred heifer home. She will make a great addiction to any herd. AI bred to Circle Cee Legend 307A on April 17, 2018. Pasture exposed to SOS Rage 128C from April 26 to August 9, 2018. Preg checked safe in calf on August 15, 2018.

She is no Diamond in the rough! Diamond Cherry comes from a gorgeous cow with a flawless udder that raised a top six steer at Calgary in 2017. To top that off check out the Firewater genetics that comes from her daddy. She has the pedigree to raise great ones and the look to be a lot of fun in the mean time!
