On behalf of everyone at MRL, we would like to invite you to the ranch December 13th for our “Herdbuilders 19” fall female sale.

I won’t waste much ink talking about the spring, summer and fall that most of us in the ag business clean across the country would like to forget. It seems every region has had its struggles. As bad as it may have seemed at given times throughout, it was far from a complete wreck and from the standpoint of most cattlemen reading this, there is some light at the end of the tunnel. Calf prices thus far have been good, cull prices steady and there is a ton of feed around the country in one form or another. I truly believe the cattle business is where you are going to want to be in the next few years.

Our 2019 lineup is the strongest set of females from top to bottom we have ever assembled; from front end donor females, to females that will fit in the top end of progressive commercial cattlemen’s operations. We will be offering more females out of our ET donors and top end females than we ever have before. As usual, they are not fitted for the show ring and haltered for their pictures. In fact, this fall with all its struggles, the heifers were simply chased out of their field, down the road to the picture pen and Dave and I shot these pictures in 2 short afternoons. What you see is what you get! We hope you can look through a little manure on their side and analyze such things as the overall soundness of structure, udder quality, dimension and presence this group of females possess. What you don’t see at first glance may be what is most important. The pedigree, sires and, first and foremost, the proven cow families behind this powerful set of females. Cow families that are tried, tested and true to produce results over the past 50 years. This cowherd that year to year we strive at improving here kept us in the forefront of the business and we are thrilled to share them with our customers. We have no greater pride than seeing these females excel for their new owners as foundation cows that rise to the top through production for their operations. A sincere thank you to all who have invested in our program over the years.

In each and every category of our 2019 lineup you will find top of the breed sires and service sires with highly proven, yet cutting edge, genetics. In the red and black Simmental division, sires like MRL Missile, MRL Capone, MRL Red Whiskey, MRL Blacktop, MRL Prism, MRL Red Force, MRL Regulator. All bulls that have led off our bull sales and have made an impact for several progressive operations within the industry. As well as top sires we have added to our program such as R+ Venom, Rust 18C and BBS Load em Up that add outcross pedigree and quality. From the standpoint of service sires is where it gets really exciting! Sires like WS Epic, Proclamation, MRL Bender, Hart State of War; all exciting, young calving ease sires with total outcross pedigree and unbelievable curve bending numbers. As well as proven sires with semen available no where else such as IPU Red Western and MRL Red Force. The AI service on this group is second to none. The exposure for 30 days to R+ Focus (high selling bull at R+ 2018 bull sale) only adds to the powerful genetics on offer.

On the Angus side, direct daughters of the $102,000 Renown, $75,000 Cockburn Assassin and all AI bred to the calving ease phenom U2 Retrospect bull that walks our pastures. He is flawless in phenotype and pedigree and a bull we’re extremely high on.

The commercial females on offer are the same as you have come to expect the past couple of years. These females genetically are the same as the purebred heifers on offer and are actually the heifers out of our spring calving herd and almost entirely registered females as well. They are bred to calve the start of March and AI’d to the $24,000 U2 Retrospect sire and exposed to an awesome calving ease son of Lazy MC Forum. Not just run of the mill commercial heifers here but 100% home raised and the most elite genetics in the industry. Progeny will be true FI Simm/Angus on the Simmental females and straight Angus on the Angus group of breds.

Our offering on December 13th will allow you to take advantage of 50 years of genetic progress and step right in at the top of our program with exclusive genetics and proven cow families. Females selected from over 700 registered females and the “sisters to the bulls”. Highly proven genetics that will work in the real world.
