First off, we would like to thank everyone for the support and utilization of our genetics in your programs. We feel gratification to see our cattle working in different programs in different areas and under different management but still providing our customers with value. We believe that cattle need to work for the people that raise them. We strive to produce those type of cattle; real world stock that are genetically designed to calve with little to no assistance, produce maximum salable pounds at weaning, and last in your herd. To stay in tune with our customer’s needs we visit with them to see what their perspective is on the genetics that work in their operations and we work on replicating those genetics. If you are new to our program and would like to discuss your needs with us, feel free to contact us anytime. Another way we feel we stay in touch with the needs of our customer base is by producing cattle in the same aspects of the industry as they do, meaning we produce cattle commercially as well. Our operation has a genetic testing component that we feel helps keep us on track, and that component is our commercial cowherd. We utilize our own genetics to see how they work for adding hybrid vigor, producing replacement quality females, and test their production on feed by backgrounding our steer population. To say we are impressed with the bulls’ development this year would be an understatement. This set is honest, stout, and sound, with an abundance of calving ease throughout. If you are looking for a bull to service heifers or cows without sacrificing weaning performance we have them available. The coming two year olds are born on grass, backgrounded on a high forage ration post weaning, and turned back to grass as soon as it is available the following spring. We keep them on grass until the snow comes and start them back on a low Mcal TMR to develop them for the sale. We believe in lean hard muscle development and not pushing the bulls past the point in their development where we sacrifice their longevity or soundness. The yearling bulls are born from our winter calving group. They are weaned off mid September after running on native grass in the river valley. This encourages their lean hard muscle development and also allows their rumens to develop on grass at a slower rate. We feel this sets them up to utilize forages and understand grazing techniques so they are equipped to develop at their new homes pre and post breeding their first season. After weaning, they are also developed on a low Mcal high forage TMR that encourages their development without over fleshing them. We calve in two calving periods to provide both yearlings and coming twos that are not picked over and are the cream of the crop of both contemporaries. You can be confident that these are the type of bulls that we would utilize in our program as we do utilize these same genetics to breed over our papered and commercial cows. We feel fortunate to be multi-generationally involved in the industry and to be the same people that calve the cows, wean the calves, feed the bulls, and market them. We have two great outfits consigning open replacement quality heifers this year in Two Rivers Ranch and Schetzsle Marketing Corp. We will have our own home raised heifers available again this year as well. All the heifers will be palpated, are on full herd health programs, and are top cut replacements that will be offered by like color, weight, and type in a gate run fashion. FERTILITY TEST: All bulls will be semen tested prior to delivery. Due to the age of the yearling bulls at the time of the sale they will be semen tested prior to delivery and are sold as guaranteed breeders. If for some reason a yearling bull is not evaluated as a sound breeder a suitable replacement of equal value will be available to the buyer and or a credit towards the purchase of another bull of which the value will be decided upon between the buyer and the seller. SIGHT UNSEEN: We would love to have you be with us. However we do understand how busy things can get around your operations. Our sight unseen program is simple.
