Across Borders During its fifteen years of operation, the main aim of the Alumni Association of the University of Szeged has been to build a community. We would like the citizens of the university, Hungarian and international students alike, to find the mission or cause which they can unite around as members of a genuine community.

We are happy to have achieved that the mentors of SZTE Alma Mater Mentor Program also host international students in each semester. It is also our pleasure that several international students regularly attend our traditional SZTE Alma Mater Weekend and have a great time.

We hope to see this trend grow so that students from every nation can connect to the larger SZTE family and, even after graduation, consider themselves an important and valuable member of the community of the University of Szeged.

“ Even if you are at the start of your career, do not be afraid to take action,” opera singer Zhang Yu Carolyn points out She was born in Xian, China. She graduated as a music teacher in this metropolis considered small on a local scale with its six million inhabitants. Then, she continued her music studies at the university in Szeged with a population of 162,000. With her voice, she has won the heart of the entire European continent. She speaks Hungarian fluently, but this is not the only reason why she is considered the ambassador of Hungarian folk music in China. Currently, she is a professor at Béla Bartók Faculty of Arts. Who is she? Zhang Yu Carolyn, who also talks to us about how she has become the only active coloratura soprano Chinese opera singer in Hungary.

– Having finished university in China, why did you want to continue your studies and why did you choose Hungary and the University of Szeged?

– Before coming here, I did not know much about Hungary, but my uncle was living in Szeged. He told me that the local university

is a good one with a great music faculty. He said if I chose to go on with my studies, it would definitely be worth applying to Szeged. So I tried. Luckily, I got in, but I did not think back then that I would have a career in Hungary.

– Did you stay in Szeged after earning your master’s degree at SZTE?

– No. First, I lived in Budapest, then moved abroad because I had plenty of performances. Officially, I have been teaching at the former Faculty of Music at SZTE since September 2018 and at Béla Bartók Faculty of Arts since August 2019.

– It must have been very frightening to come to study music thousands of kilometres away from China, in a totally different culture.

– It was. When I arrived, I did not speak a word of Hungarian so I communicated with everyone in English. This was difficult at first, but then, since I was here in the country, I decided to learn the language.

I thought I would understand local culture and the way people think much better if I spoke their language. Apart from this, Hungarian music culture is very prominent and I really wanted to understand the pieces I performed in. That is why I started to learn Hungarian.

– What is it like to be a student in Szeged?

– It is a great experience. I was lucky back then when I arrived that my classmates and professors helped me a lot both in my studies and my everyday life. I received tremendous support from them. It was a beautiful period in my life that I have fond

Lili from “I am Soyuz”: “I feel at home everywhere”

She has travelled the world with just a ukulele. She is a singer, songwriter and amateur photographer who, by the way, works as a pediatric surgeon in Stockholm. …

Felícia Lili Bozóky is a lot of things, but we could hardly call her an average person. She was born in Szeged from Hungarian parents. She lives in Sweden now but often visits Hungary to perform her one-person spacepop show. I met her when she came to Szeged to give a concert at Grand Café.

From piano to space-pop

Lili Felicia Bozóky grew up in Sweden with Hungarian parents. As a child, she already had an affinity for music and arts: she would always draw, play the piano and take photographs. At the age of 18, she bought her first guitar and went on a European backpacking trip. Her father, a distinguished pathologist, encouraged her to study at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Szeged. She got acquainted with the ukulele at a festival in Budapest. As an Erasmus student, she studied pediatrics in Rome. The idea of her project “I am Soyuz” was born in Monterrey, Mexico in 2012, when she was doing her internship at the trauma surgery department of the local hospital treating the wounds of tough guys injured in the drug war. She is a singer with an enchanting voice who performs her songs, defined by herself as space-pop, on ukulele, guitar, melodica, omnichord and kalimba with the help of a looper.

times when we randomly hitchhiked to Serbia. I hung out a lot on the bank of the Tisza. There were tons of parties … All in all, university life is awesome here. I think these are the things, the community, that make you a real grown-up. What I also liked was that students supported each other. I took photography courses here, too. I took photos, rode my bike, and there was a period when I had fish soup every day. It was a lifehack. Under the bridge, there is a beer garden where if you only asked for the liquid part, fish soup only cost 400 forints at that time. One spring, I biked there every single day from May 1 until the end of the exam period to have fish soup for lunch.

– Why did you decide to come to Szeged from Stockholm?

– You are a doctor, you play music and go on tours. This does not sound like an ordinary pace of life. How do you fit it all together?

– Right now I spend a lot of my free time making furniture. I tinker a lot at home. I have just finished building a stage. This might be my most peculiar hobby, but I like drawing and taking photos, too.

– My mum is from Szeged and I spent some time in the town when I was a child, too. Once I was here for half the summer. My parents knew the town so they might have felt better about me studying here than at a different place. Originally, I wanted to study animation, though.

I do not even remember how I ended up studying medicine.

– What are your greatest travel memories?

– I still do not know what I want to become. I really like the fact that I turned out to be a doctor, even though I was not always sure that this is what I wanted to do. I just liked the whole thing. I think I used to want to become an animator. So I am more like an artistic personality with a medical degree.

– That would be really difficult to sum up. … But, for example, being in Szeged right now feels amazing.

I was just thinking what I would talk about at my concert in Budapest and I decided to tell my audience about Szeged.

– How did you start making furniture?

– Well, I used to live together with some hippies who built everything for themselves. When I moved away, I thought if they can make these things, then I can, too. The ten of us lived in a big villa on an island in Stockholm. At that time, I had nowhere to stay. A friend of a friend lived there and told me I can come,

– How did you come across the spacepop genre?

– In fact, it is just my own way of defining the music I play. You need to find a category so people sort of know what it is all about. The way I explain my choice is that space-pop is a bit like me. There is space with various things floating in it and then I collect what I find there.

– What advice would you give to young university students who feel the urge to travel but are afraid or do not yet know how to get started?

– No guts, no glory. You have to go because what other time would you go? There is so much out there. If it goes wrong, it goes wrong, but, even so, it is going to teach you something about yourself or the other people.

And it cannot go all that wrong.

– You have been to so many places in the world. Where is home for you?

– I have two homes, Szeged and Stockholm. Though I think I actually feel at home everywhere.

– What did you want to become originally?

– How much do you feel that you stand out from among doctors?

– Do I stand out? I think everyone is totally different. I stand out a bit from musicians, too. But I think it is not necessarily a bad thing if you do not fit in. Every profession needs people who see things from a different perspective. Everyone can benefit from that.

SZTE Faculty of Science and Informatics Alumni at Global IT Companies

“ Creativity can never be replaced by machines”

Gábor Novák spent a year at Facebook and two and a half years working for Prezi after graduating as a software developer from the Faculty of Science and Informatics at the University of Szeged. During his graduate studies, he specialized in image processing, which helped him start Android development.

Gábor Novák had his first job as a graduate student and even worked in Singapore as a researcher. This is where he learnt Android development, a field he still works in. After his graduate studies in Szeged, he moved to Budapest and got a job at one of the best-known startup companies of Hungary.

“Working for Prezi was like a dream: I was developing the Prezi application. I learnt a lot there because we not only created the app, but also its maintenance was a challenge. We are talking about a large-scale application, which had to be available for users 24/7,” recalled the alumnus of SZTE TTIK. “Facebook found me after an Android conference in New York and offered me a job at their London office. After I got the job, I worked as a developer on the Messenger app.

– I am a motion picture editor. Imagine that you are trying to complete a 1000-piece puzzle, for which you were given 5000-10000 pieces.

– That they should be persistent and not give up because there are a lot of potential pitfalls in this profession, while more and more people want these kinds of creative jobs. It is true that slowly everything is going to be automatized, but creativity cannot be replaced by machines.

The power of the wind When he was a kid, Dániel Hajnal tried riding BMX, skateboarding and rollerskating, too. He learnt about kiteboarding in Swansea, when he was working as a cinematographer there. “I like to compete every once in a while. What I enjoy the most is the adrenaline and the tremendous freedom this sport gives you.”

The Faculty of Engineering on the Road With the CEEPUS Exchange Program, students and professors of the Faculty of Engineering travelled around North Macedonia and learnt about its culture and education system. Two groups of four students and a professor took part in the professional visit. Two students, Lilla Nyerges and Krisztina Matusek tell us about their experience.

Krisztina Matusek: – I heard about it from my mentor, Attila Mészáros.

L. Ny.: – I found that people live their lives much more calmer and slower.

They get up later and start running their errands later. A lot of the shops are open from 9 am. They have time for everything. The prices are similar, though drinks cost twice as much as here.

– What activities did you take part in?

– Did you enjoy the trip?

K. M.: – We visited the Mother Teresa University and the Mother Teresa Memorial House. We saw the labs at the university, then walked around in the city. We also went to the UKA halal meat processing plant with local students, who were very friendly.

K. M.: – I had a great time. I would love to take part in more programs like this.

– How did you learn about the opportunity to travel?

Lilla: Nyerges: – I read about it on Coospace and also from my friends.

L. Ny.: – We had free time, too, where we could visit wherever we wanted.

We had the chance to go up to the Millenium Cross, which can be seen from anywhere in Skopje because it is on top of a mountain. We also went to the spectacular Matka Canyon. We explored local restaurants to try Macedonian specialties, which were delicious.

Then, in the evenings, we played Solo.

– How different is life in North Macedonia from ours?

L. Ny.: – I recommend it to everyone.

No matter if you have been abroad or not, this is a great opportunity to form a closer relationship with your fellow students and professors, too.

Besides, you can meet new people and their cultures and you can see how they live their lives. You can try and discover a lot of things. If you are a bit more reserved, this is the perfect opportunity to open up to others. Plus, you can get to know yourself a bit better, too.

L. Ny.: – I loved the activities and the whole trip. The professors and staff from the local university were nice and gave us a tour of the city. They arranged a visit to the meat processing plant, too.

– Who would you recommend the CEEPUS Program to?

K. M.: – To people who like travelling, learning about other countries and cultures and would like to improve professionally, too.

Exchange program to Central Europe CEEPUS (Central European Exchange Programme for University Studies) is a Central European university exchange program.

Its goal is to facilitate the exchange and participation in professional trainings and summer universities of students and faculty for higher education institutions in Central and Eastern Europe. The program also supports professional visits for students and the establishment of joint degree programs.

As part of the Carpathian Basin Higher Education Cooperation Program, the University of Szeged maintains relations with 7 universities. This Makovecz Program allowed the university to host 39 students and send 3 students to do internships and 4 professors to teach for one semester at a partner university last year.

In the CEEPUS Program, after the previous 10 networks, SZTE cooperates with 104 partner institutions in 14 networks in the academic year 2019-2020. Campus Mundi Scholarships are increasingly popular among students of the university, as the program provides funding for part-time studies, internships or short study visits to almost any country in the world. Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility Program also supports building connections outside Europe.

Actions of the Greenest Hungarian University

The University of Szeged places great importance on the protection of the environment.

Year by year, it improves its impressive ranking in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings survey. At the university library, students can get reusable bags and there have been several events related to separate waste collection at Researchers’ Night.

Borrow a bag There is a variety of ways to make the University of Szeged greener. The management of SZTE pays particular attention to energy efficiency and environment awareness starting with separate waste collection.

Students and staff separate their waste in all academic buildings.

Environmental consciousness is also in focus at SZTE Attila József Study and Information Centre. Their latest initiative is “Borrow a bag”. Students can borrow fabric bags for their books and if they no longer need them, they can take them back to the collection point for someone else to use.

The Faculty of Agriculture at SZTE, for instance, held a workshop about separate waste collection and recycling. Preschoolers, students and their parents could create new objects from pieces of household waste.

Assistant professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Anita Csiba said that the workshop titled “Do the Right Thing - Separate” is organized annually at Researchers’ Night. To focus more on their own students in the future, the faculty is planning to submit a proposal to a V4 environment awareness project, which is a great opportunity to cooperate with foreign universities in the field. Within the project, they could involve the students of the faculty in environmental research and publications.

Since the beginning, the University of Szeged has beeen among the top green universities. For years, SZTE has been improving its impressive ranking in the Indonesian UI GreenMetric World University Rankings initiative. This international survey monitors how and how much higher education institutions act to protect the environment. In the 2019 GreenMetric world ranking, SZTE has the 74th place and ranks higher than 90% of the world’s universities compared to last year’s 86%. On the European green list, SZTE is among the top 20 percent. In Hungary, it has preserved its title as the greenest university.

The students of SZTE, Faculty of Agriculture are interested and very motivated to do research.

The thesis topic of environmentally friendly technologies applied in agriculture and the food industry is increasingly popular. Professors of SZTE Koma Faculty of Agriculture in Hódmezővásárhely pay special attention to teaching future professionals so that they address long-term sustainability in their work. They are also working hard to reduce emissions at the Faculty as much as possible.

SZTE Holds Prestigious Places on National and International Rankings Besides national rankings focusing on student and teaching excellence, international rankings measuring academic activities are continuously classifying SZTE among the world’s prestigious universities. According to QS World University Rankings the SZTE is the best university in Hungary, and is among the word’s most elite universities in several subject rankings. On the national HVG ranking list, SZTE was listed the first in Hungary out of the capital.

The University of Szeged is ranked as the best among the Hungarian universities in the British QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) World University Rankings 2020. The SZTE is placed between 501-510th on the world university list. This position is considered to be the best among Hungarian universities.

Universities on QS World University List are evaluated by six metrics: academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, citations per faculty, international faculty ratio,

What Impact Can the Friendship of 3 Szeged University Students Have?

Three Szeged university students, the trio of Tamás Kiss – András Lejtényi – Imre Tóth organized and conducted the general assemblies establishing AHUCS and declaring the university students’ points demanding educational and political reform in the largest auditorium of the University of Szeged, Auditorium Maximum at the Faculty of Humanities on October 16 and 20, 1956.

After the suppression of the revolution on November 4, 1956, Lejtényi emigrated. “In the spring of 1957, he sent a postcard to my parents’ address from Canada to inform me in black and white that he was there,” recalled Tamás Kiss, who was expelled from all Hungarian universities and sentenced to 5 years in prison as the first defendant in the so-called Szeged AHUCS trial that started on February 14, 1958.

Kiss and Tóth kept in touch after their time spent in prison, too. Tamás Kiss, for example, asked Imre Tóth to be the witness at his wedding in December 1962.

Decades went by, but they did not hear a word from their third friend, András Lejtényi. “Since 1989-1990, for almost fifteen years, I left no stone unturned.

I even did research in the historical archives to find any trace of Lejtényi,” said Tamás Kiss in an interview to SZTE. In 2007, a friend of a friend sent him the phone number of an ‘Andrew’ or ‘Endi’ living in Montreal. Kiss gave it a try and dialled the number. “A man answered

in English and I asked in Hungarian: Is that you, Andris? He said: Yes, it’s me, what do you want? You fool, where have you been for this long? This is how we started the conversation,” recalled Tamás Kiss. The two former Szeged law students found each other after 51 years and spoke on the phone every month or two until András Lejtényi’s death on February 10, 2010.

At first, the word ‘burnout’ might sound like an action film title featuring Vin Diesel or Jason Statham, but sadly it is a serious problem affecting the whole medical community. Burnout is a type of exhaustion that might especially be dangerous for medical students and new residents.

Szabolcs Béres What is burnout? It is a state of grave emotional depletion with symptoms characterized by feelings of constant fatigue and indifference to work primarily coupled with mental struggle.

It is a sad fact that medical professionals are proportionally the most affected by burnout.

What is this emotional exhaustion caused by and why is it so widespread among medical professionals?

The answer lies in the fact that people who choose the medical profession are exposed to an extreme amount of stress and difficulties right after they start their studies at university. Semester after semester, students encounter more obstacles along with even more stress. The first symptoms of burnout may occur after an exam period with bad results, though they may only be temporary. However, a prolonged chain of failures might lead to the onset of a definitive burnout.

What are the typical symptoms of burnout? The individual might

question their own skills and abilities. They ask themselves: “Is this really what I need?” or “Can I deal with this in the long run?” Graduating from the university does not mean that the stress factors are gone. Just the opposite, the worst is yet to come. Experts say that medical school also strengthens the students mentally for the tests they will later face. One of the most stressful moments is when seniors have to make the final decision about their medical specialization. This is going to impact their whole life. Probably the greatest mental struggle starts right at this point questioning whether they have chosen the right track. A doctor cannot pay exclusive attention to one patient, which may cause anxiety and frustration. This may later lead to indifference, which is the most significant symptom of burnout.

The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Szeged has also observed this problem. The Department of Behavioural Sciences at SZTE Faculty of Medicine offer courses that help students get to know themselves better and fight periodic depression if it occurs. The Junior Balint Group focuses exclusively on mental health management with the help of a psychologist. Students can sign up in Neptun for this 2-credit course starting from their 6th semester.

Apart from this, the university offers professional counseling for medical students struggling with problems.

This way, they have a positive impact on each other. The method is immensely popular in the USA but less heard of in Hungary. A lot of people prefer not to open up in front of others, while no one should be embarrassed by taking care of their mental health.

The old building of the clinic is being extended and connected to a new three-story wing of three hundred square metres each. An annual number of 100,000 patients are treated here with 4, 000 operations performed.

Spacious outpatient units are to be located in the ground floor of 300 square metres along with the new Cochlear Implant Centre and a new modern audiology test room. The first floor will house two large stateof-the-art operating units. On the second floor, there will be 10 to 12 new hospital rooms with two beds and a bathroom each.

Two new units will be added to the Department of Paediatrics of SZTE Albert Szent-Györgyi Health Centre. The main building at Korányi fasor on the bank of the Tisza will be extended with a new wing on each side. With the construction of a three-story wing, a new Paediatric Emergency Unit, a Paediatric Surgery Unit with surgical operating rooms and a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit will be installed. The other wing will house the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Addictology Department.

When the construction is over, the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department, currently located in Temesvári körút and Boldogasszony sugárút, can move here. In addition, the long-awaited Paediatric Emergency Unit will have new surgical operation rooms and a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.

The Chemotherapy Unit of the Department of Oncotherapy of SZTE Albert Szent-Györgyi Health Centre has recently moved to the first floor of the old intensive care unit building. At the Department of Oncotherapy, the chemotherapy treatment of various solid tumors are performed.

A student of SZTE Juhász Gyula Faculty of Education, Dominika Gardi is an inline speed skater, who studies special needs education and has two trainings a day. She is a member of the Hungarian national team and competes internationally w ith fantastic results.

Dominika Gardi started roller speed skating in her last year of kindergarten. She became a member of Tornádó Team in Szeged, where Erika Garzó and Ferenc Kéri have been her coaches ever since.

A series of European and world races ’Next year’s world championship is where you can qualify for World Games 2021, which is the olympic games of sports that are not contested in the actual Olympic Games. This is my primary goal now, and then to do

my best in 2021,’ the inline speed skater explained. ’The World Games will be held in the USA. I am especially happy about this because I was born there. We moved back to Szeged when I was a year and a half. We lived there again for a short time when I was in third grade so I have friends that I still keep in touch with. I can’t wait to return.’

What is a competition or practice like for inline speed skaters? Athletes usually train on the rink behind Szeged Pláza. During racing season, between April and October, they mainly have roller skating trainings. In the winter, their strength training includes several activities like running, climbing stairs, working out and training in the gym. Every season, they have 3 or 4 European Cups along with the World Cup, World Championship, European Championship and the Adult National Championship. In the summers, they also attend training camps.

Practice + Racing = Summer?

On the podium Dominika started competing internationally in first grade and has won title after title since then. Her most important achievements include 2 silver and 3 bronze medals at the Junior European Championship and a 6th place at the Junior World Championship. In addition, she has been the overall winner seven times at the European Cup. She has won first place several times at the Hungarian National Championship for adults, and, among international adult athletes, she also has a 3rd place from the European Cup, a 3rd place from the World Cup, a 6th place from the European Championship and an 8th place from the World Championship. In 2017, she competed at the Olympic Games for universities, Universiade and returned home with an individual 6th place and a 5th place in relay.

which means that my distances are between 10 kilometres and the marthon. Apart from these, I enjoy the middle-distance of 1000 metres and I perform well at short distances, too, but I prefer the long ones.

It is a tactical race, where endurance, fartlek and speed are equally important because we race for points in sprints,’ the skater told us.

Coordinating two trainings a day and the international competitions with her studies is not an easy task. Dominika Gardi’s trick is that she is studying special needs education in the correspondence program at Juhász Gyula Faculty of Education at SZTE. She thinks this is a simpler way of fitting both a competitive sport and college studies in her life. This way, it is also easier to practice twice a day. ’It also makes a difference if I can rest between two trainings. This way, I have the chance for that, too, as I do not have to run from practice to class or vice versa. Luckily, my academic performance is good besides competing, too, so it is not a problem for me to be a student and an athlete at the same time,’ she said. ’During racing season, it happens sometimes that I have classes and races or training camps at the same time. This happened a few times in the last semester, too, but the head of the institute and my professors were tolerant and helped me solve every issue I had.’

Movement development in special needs education ’My mother is a special education teacher so I could see what exactly they do. I also visited her at work, and I love working with children. Currently, I am specializing in education for children with mental and learning disabilities. I am also planning to study somatopedagogy, which means movement development. I am interested in this because it is related to sports,’ she said when sharing her future plans with us.

Dominika has loved sports and exercise since she was a child. Her parents and siblings are active athletes, too. What is more, her parents became so interested in her sport that Dominika’s father is now a certified international referee in inline speed skating.

’For me, this summer was about trainings and races, too,’ the talented athlete summed up. She also told us that, in her discipline, athletes and races are different based on their distances like in running. ’I am a long-distance skater,

’My parents did not know much about inline speed skating earlier like a lot of people do not. I was already a professional skater, when my dad received his referee certification. My siblings play basketball, so my parents gained the certificate to be qualified table crew member, too, said Dominika Gardi to finish off her story with sports.

University of Szeged and Coursera Partner to Support Students with Online Learning During COVID-19

March 2020 Regarding the COVID-19 The spread of COVID-19 in Europe, including Hungary as well, has urged the Government of Hungary to declare a state of emergency on the 11th of March and take all necessary precautions to protect the citizens of Hungary, minimize the number of infected people and slow down the spread of the coronavirus.

SZTE Conducts About 3,000 Coronavirus Tests as Part of a Nationwide Screening The University of Szeged is participating in a national screening study which involves tens of thousands of people, based on a representative sample. The series of studies aims to get an accurate picture of the extent of the epidemic and the actual number of people infected and reinfected with the coronavirus. and mix it with the pasta and the cottage cheese. Blend well and put it salt on it. Place the pasta in a casserole or baking pan and cover with sour cream. Put in pre-heated oven and bake it until the sour cream on top solidifies somewhat. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes at 180°C. Sprinkle with bacon and serve with more sour cream and grated cheese.

Szeged Fish Soup

Once you are in Szeged, it is worth tasting local specialties, including the world-renowned Szeged fish soup, along with túrós csusza

It is the most famous type of fish soup along the River Tisza. What is special about it is that it is made from different fish species. Ingredients:

• 600g carp (cleaned) • 600g catfish (cleaned) • 400g onion • 10g garlic • 1 or 2 hot peppers • 20g salt • 40g red paprika from Szeged Method: Clean and fillet the fish. Take the heads and bones, add one half of an onion, salt, pepper, garlic and red paprika. Add one litre water per head and boil for at least 2 to 2.5 hours.

Scale and chop the rest of the fish, put some salt on them and place them in the fridge until they are used.

When the stock is done, take the bones out and mash them through a strainer with a wooden spoon. This is necessary so the meat comes off the bones and thickens your stock.

When you are ready with the stock, put the chopped fish in it and cook for 10 minutes. If you kept the offals, add them, too and cook for another 10 minutes. Taste the soup and add more spices, if needed.

Serve the Szeged fish soup with hot green peppers or hot red paprika and crispy fresh bread.

Floating Islands (Madártej) Ingredients: • 4 egg whites • 1 pinch salt • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar • 800 ml milk • 1 vanilla • 4 egg yolks • 70g sugar • 1 pinch salt Method: Whisk the egg whites with a pinch of salt until soft peaks are formed, then add two tablespoons of powdered sugar and beat until it is stiff.

Szeged-style Noodles with Cottage Cheese (Túrós Csusza)

Heat the milk with the vanilla seeds until it simmers, then with a spoon scoop chunks of the egg whites.

Poach the chunks in the milk for 2-3 minutes, carefully turn them and poach this side for 2-3 minutes, too.

Take them out and put in a bowl.

Ingredients: • 250g pasta (square shaped) • 250g cottage cheese • 450g sour cream • 100g smoked bacon • 100g bacon (diced) • salt

Whisk together the egg yolks with the salt and sugar, add some of the warm milk and quickly stir until smooth. Add it to the rest of the milk and mix.

Method: Cook the pasta in salty water and rinse it with cold water.

Dice the smoked bacon, fry it over lard and when it turns translucent, add the other bacon. When they turn golden, take a small amount

Over low heat, simmer and stir continuously until it gets nice and creamy, then leave it to cool down.

Put the white chunks on top and place it in the fridge for 2-3 hours before serving.
