Lifting Equipment inspections must be undertaken on a regular basis, by personnel with adequate training, knowledge, skills & experience. It is vital that these inspections and examinations are undertaken to ensure that your equipment is maintained and can continue to be used safely. Our clients are provided with an online registry, where all of their items are documented & serviced quarterly.

CASE STUDIES MACINTYRE WIND FARM CLIENT: BMS HEAVY CRANES AUS. NORDEX OCEANIA PROFESSIONAL WIND SERVICES (PWS) QUBE RENEWABLES

SCHEDULE: 2021 - CURRENT

INDUSTRY: Renewable Energy, Heavy Lift & Transport

THE PROJECT The 1,026MW MacIntyre Wind Farm Precinct will be ACCIONA Energía’s biggest renewable energy facility and one of the largest onshore wind farms in the world. Developed in partnership with CleanCo, the Queensland Government’s newest renewable energy generator, the wind farm is expected to be operational in 2024.

The MacIntyre Wind Farm will be constructed on land predominately used for sheep farming. Current farming practices will continue during the construction and operations phases of the wind farm. The site has been selected due to its exposure to consistent winds across this part of the country and provides a suitable resource for the development of a wind farm.

By greening Queensland’s electricity mix, the MacIntyre wind complex will help the state meet its decarbonisation commitments and climate change mitigation strategies. The scale of the MacIntyre project makes it one of the largest onshore wind farms in the world today.

OUR SCOPE Production & Maintenance NEYCO was engaged by both BMS Heavy Cranes Australia, and Professional Wind Services (PWS) to provide over 750 hardwood timber mats to the MacIntyre Wind Farm Precinct. That is 700t & 3450m² worth of hardwood timber.

The 750 units were split into different sizes and species: 200 units of Beech 5000x1000x200 200 units of Azobe 5000x1000x200 150 units of Oak 3000x1000x200 200 units of Rental Mats 5000x1000x200 We worked closely with our clients and managed their requirements that suited them best. They split the requirement of mats with using both purchase and rental options. They purchased the mats that they knew were going to be stationary for a long time (laydown areas, jacking timbers), and rented/off-rented the additional units when required.

NEYCO were also engaged by Qube Renewables and Acciona Energia for full lifting & rigging equipment fit-out at the port marshalling facility at Brisbane Port. The full register of lifting equipment included modular spreader beams, high-performance synthetic slings, & large Van Beest Green Pin sling saver shackles.

MELBOURNE DOCKLANDS

CLIENT: KELLER AUSTRALIA

Keller Australia is a leading geotechnical solutions company in Australia, and part of the global Keller Group, the worlds largest geotechnical company.

SCHEDULE: 2024

INDUSTRY: Piling, Construction

THE PROJECT At Collins Wharf 2 and 3 in Docklands, Melbourne, Victoria, Keller Australia partnered with AUSTRAL CONSTRUCTION to combine forces to deliver a multi-technique foundation solution, showcasing their strength of collaboration. This project called for a diverse mix of piling techniques to support a twin-tower residential construction project. With a rock-solid foundation of 659 new apartments in the Regatta and Ancora towers.

THE CHALLENGE Keller Australia required ground protection solutions for their crawler cranes and piling rigs on site. The main challenge with this project was the potential impact of the foundation construction on the existing sea wall and timber wharf structure. The main concerns were that common techniques such as precast could induce lateral ground displacements, causing the sheet pile wall to deflect and damaging the existing timber wharf structure.

Inclinometers were installed along the north and south of the site to monitor ground movements during the works. Due to this concern, the piling pad areas closest to the north and south were constructed to reduced bearing capacities. It was this restriction that led to the use of the multi-technique approach and brought in our products to assist.

OUR SCOPE NEYCO provided Keller with over 150 units of Azobe hardwood timber mats for their Dockland project, all within a week of initial enquiry. Keller recognised and understood the importance of engineering and high quality, and would only accept Azobe hardwood mats for their application. Within a week of enquiry, Keller provided us with a purchase order to deliver all mats of different sizes & thicknesses to their Docklands site.

NEYCO was tasked with delivery, and with collection from our Brisbane depot, the mats landed on site 2 days after we received the purchase order, ensuring smooth operations and no delays for our client.

THE BENEFITS SAVINGS Hardwood Timber mats have proven to be vastly economically better for both purchase and rental options than composite matting. On average, our rental pricing is approximately 70% cheaper than composite matting.

STRENGTH Azobe is used globally as the goto material for crane mats, boasting some of the best phyiscal properties hardwood has to offer.

SUSTAINABILITY Our sawmills are certified in numerous forestry legislation for responsible sourcing. Timber is also a biodegradable product, and much easier to decompose and destroy compared to composite mat products.

THE PROJECT The DCH team was in action with their Liebherr LTM1250-5.1 All-Terrain 250t capacity crane, in Central QLD installing more bridge girders, as part of a major civil infrastructure project. Followed by a successful modular installs, DCH were honoured with the Business of the Year in the Mining Equipment services category at the CHDC Business Awards - showcasing their impressive growth, hard work, and dedication for doing things the right way.

Their vast project portfolio across Central QLD means they need a lot of bespoke rigging solutions. All lifting, rigging and crane ancilliary equipment for this 250t crane was provided by NEYCO.

OUR SCOPE NEYCO was engaged to provide all lifting, rigging, height safety, and crane ancilliary equipment for DCH, mainly for their LTM1250-5.1.

KURRI KURRI PIPELINE

CLIENT: SPIECAPAG AUSTRALIA APA GROUP

SCHEDULE: 2023 - 2025

INDUSTRY: Gas, Infrastructure, Pipelines

THE PROJECT The Kurri Kurri Lateral & Storage Pipelines Project, delivered for APA Group, is one of the most technically ambitious and strategically significant infrastructure achievements in Australia.

Spanning over 45 km of high and medium pressure gas pipelines, this was a complex suburban project including 7 HDDs, 8 thrust bores, 9 creek crossings and multiple associated facilities.

THE CHALLENGE Spiecapag developed the open-trench pipeline construction. Open-trench pipeline construction is the typical method used for pipeline construction and involves the following sequence of steps: clearing and grading, pipe stringing, pipe bending, welding of pipe joints, trench excavation, lowering pipe into the trench, backfilling, hydrostatic testing and rehabilitation of the right of way. Spiecapag has a global presence in this industry - meaning they have plenty of experience using temporary roadways for these application and groundwork during pipelines. Spiecapag required over 3km of temporary roadways to perform the facility constructions.

OUR SCOPE Spiecapag approached NEYCO to supply over 3000m² of tempoary road access. Dependent on their site requirements, we fulfilled this large area by utilising a full brochure of our products, with multiple sizes of our hardwood timber mats. For less-trafficked areas where kPa was less of a concern, we also provided our WX380 composite matting system.

THE BENEFITS SAVINGS Spiecapag hired the full 3000m² of temporary road access to save on costs of purchasing this large quantity.
