Oregon Connections Academy (ORCA) MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS SPECIAL MEETING Thursday, December 6, 2018 Held at the following location and via teleconference 833 NW Santiam Boulevard Mill City, OR 97360
I. Call to Order Mr. Kropf called the meeting to order at 11:10 a.m. II. Roll Call Board Members Present: Jeff Kropf, Joseph Brown, Becky Badger, Kim Thatcher (via phone; Sen. Thatcher dropped on and off the phone during the meeting at various times); Board Members Absent: Bobbie Jager; Guests Presents: Anne Marie Gurney; Allison Galvin, Executive Director; Todd Schweitzer, Lead Principal, Matthew Lowe, legal counsel, Beau Neal, SYS Education, LLC. III. Public Comment There were no public comments at this time. IV. Routine Business a. Approval of Agenda Mr. Kropf asked if Board members would like to request any changes be made to the Agenda. Becky Badger moved to amend the agenda and Joseph Brown seconded the motion as follows: RESOLVED, that the Agenda be amended to allow for a presentation in public session by Beau Neal of SYS Education, LLC with the remainder of the Agenda to be followed thereafter as presented. The motion passed unanimously. V. Presentation to Board of Directors Todd Schweitzer introduced Beau Neal, founder of SYS Education, LLC. Mr. Neal formerly worked with Mr. Schweitzer at a prior educational institution and then founded Frontier Charter Academy and SYS Education, LLC. Mr. Neal delivered a presentation to the ORCA
