JENNIFER STEWART | PRESIDENT & CEO
Dear CIPMA Members,
With governments at all levels balancing the need for immediate emergency investments with long-term economic recovery planning, the advocacy landscape has become ever more crowded. To ensure our sector doesn’t get lost in the shuffle, proactive engagement with government is all the more necessary.
CIPMA continues to maintain a pulse on the impacts policy decisions will have on our membership, so we can prepare, advocate, and adapt as necessary.
In this issue you will find the first of a new bi-monthly series that will capture what’s new in Canada’s Energy Policy Landscape. Even during a pandemic, there is still much going on in the sector, from Quebec’s latest announcement to ban the sale of new gas-powered vehicles by 2035 to the federal government’s reluctant approval of Ontario and New Brunswick’s carbon-pricing systems. Our goal is to ensure you have quick access to the big picture view in your inbox.
We also continue to explore virtual opportunities to stay connected with you. To that end, we look forward to hosting members for a 2020 wrap-up, Virtual Townhall on December 17th, to review CIPMA's latest advocacy efforts and to address any of your questions.
In addition, we are thrilled to announce CIPMA will launch an Industry Insights Webinar Series in January 2021. This 45-minute lunch and learn webinar series is designed with the goal of providing our members with the latest research-based analysis from notable industry leaders on the key issues impacting the downstream sector to support your busines decisions.
We’re also pleased to share CIPMA’s podcast Pump Chats will now be featured in OCTANE Magazine, further amplifying our members’ voices internationally.
On behalf of the Board of Directors and the team at CIPMA, I want to thank you for your continued membership and engagement in our association activities.
As always, if there is an issue that arises that you wish to bring to our attention, please feel free to reach out to me. Now more than ever, unifying under a collective voice to advocate for the future of our market is critical.
All the best,
Jennifer Stewart
