Wallpaper*, the leading design and lifestyle magazine, is renowned for its annual awards program that spotlights pioneering ideas across architecture, interiors, fashion, art, and technology. With a strong emphasis on longevity, circularity, and efficiency, the 2025 edition of the Smart Space Awards honors designs that push the boundaries of both form and function.
The DUO designer bed reinterprets the hallmark elements of the DUO collection, such as the curved lines, seen here in the headboard The structure is made of steel, with a base composed of struts in lime or tulip wood.
A light layer of padding wraps around the entire profile of the base. The suspended padded headboard extends beyond the frame, creating a wraparound effect, and features removable decorative quilting with matalassé stitching. The cylindrical legs are made of aluminum, upholstered in Pelle Frau® leather to match the bed.

The Vivienne seating system is inspired by the semicircular curved backrest of the Vivienne armchair, featuring a contemporary aesthetic designed by ItalianDanish duo GamFratesi The embrace of the backrest that wraps around the seat also acts as an armrest, giving it a particularly decorative flair. The project features a finely contoured upholstered base, supported by recessed aluminium bars, which hosts and partially conceals the thickness of the cushions. As a result, the seat appears thinner a detail that gives the upholstery a more delicate look, making it feel light while remaining incredibly comfortable. The designers describe this seating system as “a piece that plays with the harmony of shapes. Its soft and generous curves, typical of the Vivienne Large armchair, evolve into a sofa system with new proportions. A perfect balance between sinuosity and geometric rigour, between the decorative and the essential, making it suitable for any modern space while maintaining an iconic and organic character”

Floor lamp emitting direct and indirect light with symmetrical and asymmetrical distribution. Features two vertical ash wood blades joined by chromed metal fittings Blades rotate around a central tubular light source to allow variable light emission. Custom-developed dimmable linear LED light source The lamp can also be fitted with standard T8 LED tubes.Designed by Tobia Scarpa in 1963 and reissued in 2025, Seki-Han is testament to his mastery of design and wood-working expertise The intricate construction draws on naval techniques to shape two wooden blades that now rotate around the light source. Even when almost completely closed, a sliver of light remains visible, creating a highly poetic effect.
