2024 2ND ANNUAL WOMEN’S SUMMIT PROOF OF PERFORMANCE

THANK YOU

Thank you for partnering with the Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce to produce the 2nd Annual Women’s Leadership Summit at the Franciscan Center on the campus of Lourdes University on Tuesday, August 20th. This event nearly doubled its number this year! Its goal is to uplift and promote businesswomen by surrounding them with the powerful women leaders of Northwest Ohio. This event was proudly sponsored by GBQ, UToledo Health, and Waterford Bank N.A. This event welcomed almost 200 businesswomen and included an inspiring keynote address from Noor Abukaram. It was such a pleasure to host this inspiring event for the community.

BUSINESS WOMAN OF THE YEAR

The Business Woman of the Year award is presented to a woman who has shown strides in business and the community.

The 2024 Business Woman of the Year award was presented by Schramm’s Flowers & Gifts.

Congratulations to our 2024 Business Woman of the Year award recipient Kendra Baroudi of Kabob It At Home.

Ten years ago, in 2014, our honoree and her husband took a bold step and expanded a family-owned business that had already made a name for itself with its authentic and beloved recipes brought over from Tripoli, Lebanon These treasured recipes have been at the heart of the restaurant’s success, a testament to the rich heritage and tradition passed down through generations.

A fellow Chamber member recently shared some thoughts that perfectly capture the spirit of this individual: “I can’t say enough positive words about her, but if I had to pick one word, I would choose the word Relentless. She has a spirit that never gives up, and her willingness to pivot and continue toward the next success is relentless in her quest to grow her business. We can learn a lot from her in our everyday journeys.”

We hosted nearly women, almost doubling our numbers from last year.

“Life changing - learned from all of the women in the room”

“This was an outstanding event... You could tell everyone involved was being their authentic selves and that really drove home the message of the entire day. I am already looking forward to next year's event.”

“The Women's Summit provided a safe and welcoming place for women of various ages and backgrounds to share ideas and find new ways to support other women in the community... The speakers and panelists brought concrete ideas and actions for making a true impact in our community, and I will definitely be attending again (and bringing friends and colleagues).”
