Dwardu’s Scoops ST EDWARD’S COLLEGE NEWSLETTER
Working towards positive outcomes By Nollaig Mac An Bhaird, Headmaster So, we arrive at the end of yet another scholastic year, and the final edition of Dwardu’s Scoops. Looking back over this newsletter is a reminder of what an active
bunch we are. Students, parents and staff have all worked with one goal in mind – the creation of an enriched, caring learning environment for our students. All three groups do not always see eye to eye on all matters, we bring different perspectives to the table, but listening (and hearing) what the other is saying will result in a positive outcome.
Thankfully in ninety-nine-point nine percent of the times this is what happens! Being involved in education is one of the most satisfying and rewarding professions that there is. Having worked in different systems, and countries, what strikes me about working at St Edward’s College is the willingness of staff to go well beyond the ‘call of duty’. Pastoral care seems to be
embedded in the psyche of all staff members. If you read Dwardu’s Scoops carefully you will see this coming across in all sections. Already I have been approached by members of staff suggesting projects for the coming year. Along with parents and naturally students, we will continue our drive to have yet another enriched academic learning environment for all of us.
