ప్రతి రోజు ఓ చిట్టి చీమ పెందలాడే (సమయానికన్నా మ ెందే) వచి​ి వెంట్న్ే తన ప్ని ప్రరరెంభెంచే​ేద..

Every day, an Ant arrived at work early and started work immediately ..

అద చేనలా ఫల్ వెంతమైనద, ఉత్నాహెంగర ప్ని చేెయయడమే కరక తన వరుతి​ి ప్ట్ల చేనలా సెంత్ోషెంగర సెంతృపతి గర ఉెండేద.... ఆడుతూ ప్రడుతూ ఆనదెంగర ప్ని చేెయాడెం తనకెంత్ో ఇషిెం . .

She was very productive and happy too ..

Observing this, the Chief, a Lion, was surprised to see that the ant was working without supervisor!

యాదృచి​ికెంగర అడవి రరజు సతెంహెం దృష్తి కషిజీవి చిట్టి చీమపై ప్డెంద. చీమ శ్రమను, శ్రదధను చూసత చేనలా మ చిట్ేసతెంద. ఏ ప్రయవేక్షకుడు లేకుెండన తన ప్ని త్ననూ చే​ేసుకుప్ో యే అెంకిత భావరనిా చూసత అచిరయచకితుడయాయడు

సతెంహానికి బ్రహామెండననిా బ్దద లు చే​ేసే ఓ ఆలోచన తట్టి ెంద.. సూప్ర్ వైజర్ లేకుెండనన్ే ఇెంత చకకగర ప్ని చే​ేసి ుెందే... అదే ఒక సూప్ర్ వైజర్ ఉెంట్ె ఇెంకర ఎెంత బ్ాగర ప్ని చే​ేసి ుెందో కదన? అని.

He thought if the ant could do so much work without supervisor .. how much more would she be able to accomplish with a supervisor?

కరబ్ట్టి సతెంహెం ప్రయవేక్షణలో విసి ృతమైన అనుభవెం ఉనా ఒక బ్ొ దద ెంకను ప్నికి కుదరరిడు.

So the Lion hired a Cockroach, who had extensive experience as a supervisor & who was famous for writing excellent reports ..

The Cockroach's first decision was to set up a “time-clock” attendance system ..

The Cockroach needed a secretary (a bee) to help him write and type his reports and ...

... he recruited a Spider, to manage the achieves and monitor all phone calls ..

The Lion was happy with the work progress and delighted with the Cockroach's reports and asked him to produce graphs to describe production rates and analyse trends, so that he could use them for presentations at board meetings ..

... so the Cockroach needed to buy a new computer & a laser printer, and supporting software and devices.. and ..

....ఐట్ట డప్రరిమెంట్ ను మాయన్ేజ్ చే​ేయడననికి ఒక ఈగను నియమెం చేనల్సా వచి​ిెంద.

... recruited a Fly to manage the IT department.

... ఒకప్రాడు చేనలా ఫలవెంతెంగర మరియ ప్రశ్రెంతెంగర ఉెండే చీమ, ఈ కొతి కరగితప్ర ప్నిని మరియ సమావేశ్రలను కొతి సతబ్ాబ్ెందని అసహయెంచుకుెంద, ఉెంట్ూ ఉెంట్ూ ఈ మానసతక ఘరి షణ, ఒతాతిడ, చిరరకు ప్ని సరథయని ప్రభావితెం చే​ేశ్రయ ...! ... ఇప్రాడు తను ఏమెంత సెంత్ోషెంగర లేదు, ఎదో త్ెల్సయని వల్సతి, ఒకిెంత అసెంతృపతి ....

... The Ant, who had once been so productive and relaxed, hated this new plethora of paperwork and meetings which used up most of her time and affected her work levels ... !

She was no longer very happy ..

The Lion felt that it was high time to nominate a person in charge of the department where the Ant worked.

The position was given to the Cicada, who’s first decision was to buy a carpet and an ergonomic chair for his office

The new person in charge, the Cicada, also needed a computer. & a personal assistant; who he brought from his previous department, to help him prepare reports & Optimisation plans ...

కొతి వయకి​ి, కీచురరయకి కూడన కెంప్యయట్ర్ & వయకి​ిగత సహాయకుడు అవసరెం. అతను వరట్నిాెంట్టని తనత్ోప్రట్ు తీసుకువచేనిడు . మ నుప్ట్ట విభాగెం, నివేదకలు & ఆపతిమైజేషన్ ప్రణనళికలను సతదధెం చే​ేయడెంలో అతనికి సహాయప్డట్ానికి ...

చీమ పని చేసన విభాగిం విచారకరమైన పరదేశింగా మారిపో యింది. ఇపపుడు అకకడ ఎవరూ నవవడిం లేదు అిందరిలోనూ ఒక రకమైన నైరాశయత, చిరాకు, కోపిం, పెతినిం రాజ్యమేలుతూ ఉింది.

The department where the Ant worked became a sad place, where nobody laughed anymore and everybody had become upset ..

ఆ సమయెంలోన్ే కీచురరయ, చీఫ్ ను (సతెంహానిా) ప్ని వరత్నవరణ ప్రిశీలన ప్రరరెంభెంచడననికి ఒపతాెంచిెంద.

It was at that time the Cicada convinced the chief (Lion) to start a study of the working environment.

.. having reviewed the report, the Lion saw a decline in productivity in the Ant’s department..

.. నివేదకను సమీక్ెంచిన తరువరత, చీమల విభాగెంలో ఉత్నాదకత క్ీణెంచిెంద అని సతెంహెం గరహెంచిెంద .. ..

So he recruited the Owl, a prestigious and renowned consultant to carry out a comprehensive audit and suggest solutions ..

అెందువలల అతను సమగర లెకకల తనిఖీ నిరవహెంచడననికి మరియ ప్రిష్రకరరలను సూచిెంచడననికి ప్రతిష్రితమక మరియ ప్రఖ్ాయత కనాలెిెంట్ అయన గ డల గూబ్ను నియమెంచుకున్నాడు ..

గ డల గూబ్ 3 న్లలు విభాగెంలో గడపత అన్ేక వరలూయమలలో ఒక అప్రరమైన నివేదకత్ో మ ెందుకు వచి​ిెంద దనని సరరరెంశ్ెం ఏమట్ెంట్ే, "డప్రరిమెంట్ సతబ్ిెందత్ో కిట్కిట్ాలాడుతూ (ఓవర్ లోడ్ అయ) ఉెంద ..."

The Owl spent 3 months in the department and came up with an enormous report, in several volumes, that concluded: “The department is overstaffed ..”

Guess who the Lion fired first ?

సతెంహెం మ ెందు ఎవరి మీద అగిో మీద గ గిోలెం అయ ఉెంట్ుెందో ఆలోచిెం చెండ?

The Ant, of course! … because it was reported that she “showed lack of motivation and had a negative attitude towards organisation processes.”

ఖచి​ితింగా చీమే! … ఎిందుకింట్ే తను (చీమ) “పరరరణ లేమి మరియు ట్ిం సురిట్, నకారాతమ పరవరి న, సింసథ పరకయ ి ల పట్ల పరతికూల వైఖరిని కలిగి ఉింది” అని రిపో ర్టి ఇవవబడింది.

.. that was the end of “the Lion and the Ant” story ..

but similar stories continue under different themes and excuses in work environments and organisations !!

.. ఇద “సతెంహెం మయ చిట్టి చీమ” కథ మ గిెంప్ర .. కరనీ ఇలాెంట్ట కథలు వేరేవరు ఇతివృత్నిలు మరియ ప్ని వరత్నవరణనలలో మరియ సెంసథలలో అన్ేక రూప్రలోల కొనసరగ తూన్ే ఉెంట్ాయ !!

The story reflects the reality of many management practices and cultures in organisations today ..

ఈ కథ సింసథ లలో అనేక నిరవహణ పదధ తులు మరియు సింసకృతుల వాసి వికతను పరతిబింబసుి​ింది ..

But let’s analyse the “Lion’s” objectives and what he was trying to achieve ..

కానీ మనిం కాసి ఆలోచి​ించాలి... “సింహిం ” లక్ష్యయలు ఏమిట్ట? తను ఏిం సాధి​ించడానికి పరయతి​ిసుినిది ..

The objective from the Lion’s perspective aimed to improve the level, efficiency and effectiveness of the Ant’s performance (at least from our perception!)

సింహిం దృష్ి కోణింలో తన ఉదే​ేశయిం చీమ పనితీరు, లక్ష్య సాథయ, సామరథయిం మరియు పరతిభ మరుగు పడాలనిదే. (కనీసిం మా అవగాహన మేరకు!)

సాషిెంగర అరథమయేయద ఏమట్ెంట్ే, "సతెంహెం " మరియ అతని బ్ృెందెం అనుసరిెంచిన నిరవహణ విధననెం అధకరరికమైనదగర ; నియెంతురతమైనదగర , సహజత్నవనిా శ్రసతెంచే​ేదగర ఉెండేద. "పేరరణ మరియ ప్ోర త్నాహ" విధననెం కరన్ే కరదు.

Apparently, the management approach followed by the “Lion” and his team was of an authoritative; command and control nature rather than a “motivation and encouragement” approach.

The Lion and his team demonstrated great interest in employing management concepts of governance, organisation structure, performance management, audit and control, etc‌

but they have fallen into the trap of bureaucratic management and administrative red tape.. and they ended up paying attention to consecutive tasks resulting from decisions that were not linked to written and defined objectives!

పరిపాలన, సంసథ నిర్మా ణం, పనితీరు నిర్వ హణ, లెక్క ల తనిఖీ మరియు నియంత్తణ మొదలైన నిర్వ హణ అంశాలను ఉపయోగంచడంలో సంహం మరియు అతని బ ందం గొపప ఆసక్త ిని త్పదరిశ ంచంది… కానీ అవి బ్యూ రోత్కాటిక్ మేనేజ్‌మంట్ మరియు అడ్మా నిస్ట్రటి ే వ్ రెడ్ టేప్ యొక్క ఉచ్చు లో పడ్మపోయాయి ..

Can this explain the frustration and negative behavior that appeared in the “Ant” ??

Can we get some clearer excuses for the Ant at least?!

It may be that the ÂŤAntÂť was suspicious about the new systems and procedures and thought that it might have been questioning her work abilities or even a lack of confidence in her capabilities?

Or that because she was not informed and aware enough of what was going on around her, it contributed to her isolation from work and a reason for her passivity!!

మనం చీమ కోసం క్నీసం కొనిా సప ష్ే మై న సాకులు వెతక్ గలమా ?!

చీమకు ఈ కొతి విధానం, వూ కుిలపై నమా క్ం పోయింది. కార్ణం - ారు తన పనిని, త్పతిభను, నిజాయితిని శంక్తస్తిన్నా ర్నా అనుమానం తనదా? లేదా తన చ్చట్టే ఏం జరుగుతందో పసగట్ే లేక్ పోవడం, మారుతనా పరిసథతల, మారుతనా విలువల యెడల ి జాగ తావసలో లేక్పోవడం తనలో త్క్తయాశూనూ తకు కార్ణం అయిూ ందా !!

అయత్ే! .. సతెంహానికి తన నిరణ యానికి మ ెందు వేరే ప్రిష్రమకరర మారో ెం తట్ి లేదన?

But! .. wasn’t there any other option for the “Lion” prior to his decision?

Among the many questions that arise if we attempt to analyse the story, is the fact tha t the Lion could have achieved the same set of goals through: (1)Increasing the number of Ants for example, or ..

(2)by consulting the Ant itself in what can be done .. as she had the cognitive knowledge about her own work ..

2) చీమకు తన సవ ంత పని గురించ గొపప అవగాహన ఉండేది గనక్ ఏమి చేయవచ్చు చీమను సంత్పదించడం దావ ర్మ ..

We still wonder though about: whether the “Lion” was aware of what made the Ant energetic and effective, prior to his first decision?

Or was it a pure guesstimatebased decision?

మాకు దీని గ రిెంచి ఇెంకర ఆశ్ిరయెంగరన్ే ఉెంద; తన మొదట్ట నిరణ యానికి మ ెందు, చీమను శ్కి​ివెంతెం మరియ ప్రభావవెంతెం చే​ేసతెంద ఏ విషయమో “సతెంహెం”కి త్ెలుసర? లేదన ఇద ప్యరచి అెంచన్నఆధనరిత నిరణ యమా?

న్నయకతవెం & నిరవహణ బ్ృెందనలు అరథ ెం చే​ేసుకోవలసతనద ఏమట్ెంట్ే:

What leadership & management teams need to understand is that:

"సెంసథలలో నిరణ యెం తీసుకున్ే విధననెం అెంచన్న ప్ని మీద ఆధనరప్డ ఉెండదు .."

“the decisionmaking process in organisations can not be based on guesswork ..”

కరరయ నిరవహణలో ఊహా ఆధనరిత తరకెం అని పతలువబ్డేద ఏదీ లేదు !!

There is no such thing called the logic of guessing in management!!

The story in its entirety, refers to the importance of focusing on the final desired results at all times ..

And that in the absence of such focus, the organisation may get itself strategically deviated
