FIRST NAT IONS FIRST

We have an eclectic and vibrant line-up of First Nations Artists presenting works throughout the Festival. We want everyone to join us in a powerful, funny, informative and all-out deadly Fringe.

This year, Fringe is building something; we are embarking on a festival-long art project with Wiradjuri Yinaa (Woman) and artist Peta Joy Williams. Coil by coil an animal emerges from our collective yarning, it’s plumage made of our stories of reconciliation and respect.

Join us at one of our Waybara Gidyira (Weaving Animals) workshops. Get along for a Saturday lunchtime session of immersion into the beautiful indigenous cultural practice of coil weaving. We invite all participants to leave their coil behind to be added to our newest Fringe friend, Dinawan (Emu) created in collaboration with Gene Kelaher and Daniel Samuel.
