Sydney City Toyota has taken many positives out of the Covid-19 lockdown, and it’s our belief that our guests have benefitted. We have learned to navigate a path around remote valuations, and how we can help people buy and maintain their Toyotas even when they could not access our dealership. We’ve helped people choose and buy certified preowned Toyotas and we have given them a Covid-only opportunity to return them if they’re not totally satisfied with their purchase. When the State Government relaxed the access rules, we were first to ensure that we offered vehicle service opportunities to our guests who were most affected in red spot LGAs. We have also worked with our Toyota distributor to ensure we are able to help our guests through the world-wide wait for cars that has been the consequence of the pandemic. But first – I want to welcome everyone back and assure you that we are doing everything in our power to make our homes – at Glebe and Waterloo – your homes. It was the happiest day of 2021 when we re-opened the doors to our guests – in accordance with the guidelines laid down

by NSW Health. Our policy is to continue to comply with Health regulations, and as they relax, we will ensure that our operational systems synchronise with the relaxed regulations. But meanwhile, we will be travelling the extra mile to make sure no-one is disadvantaged. We have developed a system in which trade-in valuations can be performed accurately and remotely – by using pictures taken by our guests, so that our assessment of their vehicle is completely accurate. And how was it all collected? We’ve been running our own version of Click, Call and Collect. Where necessary, we have been sending our guests a new Toyota on a purpose-built car trailer, and this has resulted in bringing back the trade-in. Our expert sales team have been conducting one-on-one virtual handovers, sitting in exactly the same make and model of Toyota in the showroom. It’s been so successful that 25 percent of our guests have said they would like to continue that experience. However, the optimal experience for every guest is their presence in our showroom for the full comprehensive, bells and whistles ribbon-reveal.
