Friends and Fellow Cattlemen:
Welcome to the Fourth Annual Combined Forces Bred Female Sale. It is amazing how fast sale time comes around again and how much progress we make from year to year. It’s never fun planning around mother nature when it comes to clipping and prep on the cattle and especially hoping the sun shines when you put them in the picture pen. It does pose a bit of a challenge when we as breeders are located in different states trying to coordinate everything that goes into the sale prep, but it makes it all worth it when we get the catalog finished and anticipate the day we bring them all together. The Combined Forces Breeders truly appreciate and want to thank the customers we have had in the past and look forward to developing new relationships in the future. This set of cattle for our fourth Combined Forces Sale is tremendous. The bred heifers are, as always, sired by some of the best genetics in the game. We as breeders have tried to diversify a little and add some color and some registered females to the offering while still maintaining that maternal look we all appreciate. We believe this set of breds to be as deep as we have sold. The cow division is awesome! These females are right from the heart of our herds. There are many young future donors as well as proven cows that have already worked for us. The planned matings are as good as they get, featuring the industry’s most proven and successful AI sires. With the exception of one, every single female is safe to her AI date, and we assure you we are selling some of our best. Be sure to read a few success stories from our past sales on page 56. The work behind the scenes that it takes to put this sale together is sure in need of recognition. The farm help and picture help are a huge part of the success of this sale, along with the late nights and time on the phone organizing. SALE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
All animals sell to the highest bidder. Any disputes with regards to bids will be settled by the auctioneer, and his decision will be final. Terms of the sale are cash or good check. Settlement must be made with the sale clerk during or immediately following the sale and before cattle will be released. Cattle that are eligible for breed registration will be registered upon request. All animals will be accompanied by valid health papers for immediate interstate transfer.
BREEDING GUARANTEE
All females are sold under the condition “safe in calf” as attested to by a licensed veterinarian and sell with no further guarantee. The majority of the offering has been ultrasounded safe to the AI date. The ultrasound results reported are as accurate as possible but are not guaranteed. No guarantee is given that bred females will deliver a live calf.
INSURANCE
We take every precaution for the care and safety of your purchases. The purchaser assumes risk of death or injury after the animal is “sold.” Livestock mortality insurance will be available sale day through James Bessler, XL Catlin, 815.762.2641.

It’s show time, it’s show time…guess who’s back? Broker females, boys and girls, are the kind that will give you big pockets full of 24K magic! Lots 34 and 35 are the result of a very successful fresh flush in the spring of 2016 that resulted in four heifers and eight bulls born. One bull sold to Herb Barber, one to Bob Howard of Oklahoma, and we retained the other six bulls for in-herd use. A full sister sold to Glen Toews in our 2017 pasture sale that was exhibited very successfully by the Baalman family in Kansas; they are extremely happy with the banner success but more excited about that female and her future production.
The versatility of these two bred heifers selling January 26 is endless. You can use them in a variety of different ways, depending on what is most suitable for your operation. I know the pictures have your attention, but look at their pedigree. Donor 250 is the last natural born female to our 210 Donor, and she is about to start writing her own history. As much as we strive to raise sale pasture show cattle, we have not bred her to a club calf bull to date—Angus and Simmental sires only. She is in her prime, and these Broker-sired daughters are the kind you want in your lineup. I think Adam will like the more clubby one, while Kyle (who sorts cattle daily) will like the other.
