Darryl Worley Foundation enters a new Chapter of Growth

The Darry Worley Foundation has made a tremendous impact. Over the course of 23 years, the foundation has donated over $2.5 million to Hardin County and has been at the center of community impact and support. After a lengthy process of vision and strategic planning, the Board of Directors is expanding its support to Hardin, McNairy, Decatur, Wayne, Lawrence and Alcorn in 2026.

Along with expanded reach to support new communities, the Foundation’s board has adopted expanded pillars of giving that will allow for non-profit organizations serving these counties to apply for support from the Darryl Worley Foundation.

“This moment matters. After 23 years of dedicated community support, we feel it’s time to expand our reach, defining our mission and focusing our impact empowering incredible nonprofit organizations of our community,” said Dan Adkisson, President of the Board of Directors.

Southwest Tennessee Tourism Association Unveils New Logo

The Southwest Tennessee Tourism Association is proud to unveil their new logo that reflects the region’s unique identity and positions the organization for a dynamic new era in tourism promotion. The refreshed design is crisp, clean and clearly marks where Southwest TN is located on the map, serving as a bold representation of the eight-county region it covers. SWTNTA represents the counties of Chester, Decatur, Hardeman, Hardin, Haywood, Henderson, Madison, and McNairy and with this rebranding, the organization is concentrated on its mission: to promote, market, and showcase the diverse communities, rural treasures, and vibrant outdoors that make up this region.

“This logo is more than just a design, it is a symbol of who we are and where we are going,” said Executive Director Mary Beth Hopper. “It reflects the pride we have in the region and our commitment to tell the story of Southwest Tennessee in a way that captures its beauty and spirit.”

The unveiling also comes alongside the expansion of the SWTNTA team with new staff members bringing fresh energy and expertise:

·*Marty Marbry, Director of Marketing, Sales, & Community Engagement, will spearhead initiatives to strengthen local partnerships and expand outreach across tourism sectors.

·*Russell Ingle, Digital Content Manager, will lead efforts to enhance the region’s digital presence focusing on FaceBook, X and Instagram. Ingle will also serve as creative manager. This team is also excited to launch a campaign to reintroduce the region to travelers from across the country. Whether it is the music heritage, scenic beauty, or historic landmarks, Southwest TN has something for everyone. “Our goal is simple,” said Marbry, “We want to make sure that every traveler knows where Southwest Tennessee is and why it should be their next destination. Our new campaign says it all - Southwest TN - Small Towns Big Stories.”

Ballet Arts of Jackson will offer three showings of the timeless classic 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 28th, 7:00 p.m. Saturday, November 29th and 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 30th. Join Clara and her Nutcracker Prince on a timeless journey through the Land of Sweets premiering on Black Friday at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Downtown Jackson. It will be here before you know it, Christmas that is! And the Southwest Tourism Association is busy putting together a Jingle Bell Trail like no other! We need your help getting this trail filled out so that we can promote ALL things Holiday to potential visitors and Southwest Tennessee residents so they can fill out their holiday calendar. Send us your Holiday activities as soon as possible; include dates, times and locations of each event. We would also love to get your photos so that we can use those as well in our social media and ad creation. We will be creating special social media posts and specialty items to invite and encourage visitation to Southwest TN! So put a little JINGLE in your step and get your info to us soon!

KICK OFF THE HOLIDAY SEASON WITH SANTA, SNOW & COCOA

The West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center, in Brownsville TN, invites families to celebrate the start of the holiday season during its annual Santa, Snow & Cocoa event on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 5 to 8 p.m. Guests will step into a winter wonderland filled with twinkling lights, gentle snowflakes, and the joyful spirit of the season. Santa will be on site for photos, and children can drop their letters in the special North Pole mailbox before enjoying free hot cocoa and a variety of family-friendly activities.

This year, the event also features an exciting story experience. Families can enjoy a comeand-go Storytime and book signing with nature enthusiast and author Julie Hartsfield of Covington, TN. Hartsfield will read from her newest book, The Adventures of Hatchie and Friends: Hatchie Makes a Difference, from 5-7 pm in the Center’s Hatchie River room. The story follows Hatchie the river as she discovers the powerful impact one river can have, teaching young readers about friendship, caring for the environment, and making a difference. Books will be available for purchase and make great stocking stuffers for young children.

Santa makes his annual visit to the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center Friday evening, November 21, from 5-8 pm. New this year is a special reading and book signing for The Adventures

“We’re excited to bring the community together again for one of our favorite holiday traditions,” said Sonia Outlaw-Clark, Executive Director. “This year’s addition of Storytime adds a special touch, connecting West Tennessee’s natural resource to the wonder of Christmas.”

Families are encouraged to bring cameras to capture the magic as Santa visits with children surrounded by soft falling snow. A food truck will be available with dinner and treats for purchase, and all Delta Heritage Center exhibits, including the Tina Turner Museum, will be open for exploration. Admission is free.
