Across the towns and backroads of McNairy County, women are quietly and powerfully shaping the life of our community. They are leaders, caregivers, entrepreneurs, educators, artists, volunteers, and visionaries. Their work often happens without fanfare, but their impact is seen everywhere, from local businesses and classrooms to churches, hospitals, farms, and community organizations. MC WOMAN is a celebration of the women who make McNairy County stronger. And the young lady spotlighted in this issue is a wonderful example of how youth is being well served and the future of McNairy County is in good hands. Kaylea Johnson is proud to call McNairy County home, a place where her roots, family, and career continue to grow. Together with her husband, Riley Johnson, owner of RJ’s Store, Kaylea is building a life centered on faith, family, and service to the community they love. Her commitment to people is evident both in her professional work and in the relationships, she values throughout McNairy County.
For the past three years, Kaylea has served as a Member Service Representative and Loan Officer at Employee Resources Credit Union. In this role, she helps members navigate important financial decisions, assists with everyday banking needs, and guides individuals and families through loan processes that often mark major milestones in their lives. Her approach is built on trust, care, and a genuine desire to see others succeed.
Beyond her work at the credit union, Kaylea also supports the daily operations and continued growth of RJ’s Store, helping create a welcoming atmosphere where customers feel appreciated and valued.
When she’s not working, Kaylea enjoys life on the family farm, where she loves spending time outdoors and relaxing with their golden retriever, Beau. She also enjoys shopping with friends and spending meaningful time with family, something she considers one of life’s greatest blessings. Family is at the center of everything Kaylea does. She treasures the moments spent making memories with loved ones and believes strong families are the foundation of strong communities.
Kaylea is also passionate about supporting local businesses and fostering meaningful connections throughout McNairy County. She believes investing in the local community strengthens relationships and helps create opportunities for future generations.
Above all, Kaylea’s faith in God is the foundation of her life. She strives to live with integrity, kindness, and gratitude, trusting that her path and purpose are guided by Him.
Kaylea believes women play a vital role in shaping communities through both their professional careers and their volunteer efforts.

During Women’s History Month, commun the country pause to recognize the wom dedication, vision, and compassion help places we call home. In McNairy County, woman is Christy Wilson Longoria, whose entrepreneurial spirit, and love for peop made a meaningful impact especially in Adamsville.
Many residents know Christy as the own welcoming smile behind The Bean Scene McNairy County’s first coffee shop. But h about more than coffee; it’s about comm and the desire to create a place where pe they belong.
Christy originally moved to McNairy Cou neighboring Hardeman County in 2003 H connection to the area began several yea when her mother married a native reside McNairy County in 1995 who lived in Fin to be close to her mother, Christy reloca small community of Finger.

Over time, that sense of home grew into invest in the community that had welcom warmly In 2018, Christy opened The Bea creating not just a business but a gathering place for the community.
The café offers a wide variety of food, beverages, and coffee options, but its purpose goes far beyond the menu.
“Our goal is not just to provide a great service to the community, but to be a place that brings people together,” Christy explains. “A place where Jesus is glorified and His presence rests. Our establishment is a place to find peace, catch up with friends, have Bible studies, and enjoy a hometown experience that is hard to find these days.”

Her impact extends beyond the café walls. Christy actively works with other community leaders and stakeholders to support downtown Adamsville and promote growth along Main Street
“I love being able to be a part of and at times collaborate with—others throughout the year to help build Main Street in Adamsville,” she says. “It helps highlight and bring more business to our downtown area ”
While Christy’s professional work keeps her busy, she is quick to emphasize that faith and family come first. She is the proud mother of two biological children, Serena and Tristan, and also considers herself blessed with many spiritual or adopted children who lovingly call her “Mom.”
Outside of her work and community involvement, Christy enjoys traveling, hiking, reading, journaling, and cake decorating activities that reflect her creative and reflective spirit.
Another joyful milestone came in late 2025 when Christy married Austyn Longoria, beginning a new chapter in both her personal and family life
When asked why women’s leadership and involvement are so important in communities, Christy speaks with conviction. “Women bring a compassionate, nurturing side that a community needs to thrive and be balanced,” she says. “Women bring life to a community and are natural multipliers We have a natural capability to cause things to grow, expand, and beautify whatever we touch.”
Her words perfectly reflect the role she herself plays in McNairy County. Through her faith, hospitality, and commitment to building relationships, Christy Wilson Longoria continues to help make Adamsville—and all of McNairy County a brighter, warmer place to call home
