Heart of a Champion is bringing the William Lee Martin Seemed Smart at the Time comedy tour to the McNairy County AG Event Center on Saturday, March 7th. William Lee Martin is a veteran stand-up comedian known for honest, hilarious storytelling that turns real life into big laughs. With nearly three decades on stage, William delivers comedy drawn from marriage, divorce, parenting, faith, work, and the moments we all recognize, without cheap shots, politics, or shock for shock’s sake. His humor is relatable, smart, and grounded in experience, making audiences feel like they’re laughing with him, not being talked at. Martin’s current show, Seemed Smart at the Time, is a fully produced comedy experience built around the choices we’ve all made that didn’t quite go as planned. The show blends laugh-out-loud storytelling with moments of reflection, creating an evening that’s funny, human, and surprisingly meaningful. It’s comedy for people who’ve lived a little and appreciate humor that’s real, not manufactured. You’ll laugh at your own life, recognize yourself in the stories, and leave feeling better than when you walked in. Clean enough to bring your parents. Real enough to talk about on the drive home
The event is Heart of A Champion’s only fundraiser for the year.
Heart of a Champion is a non-profit organization All funds raised through the event will go to benefit the organization and their work to fund their teacher scholarship grants and improve education in the area.

Hardin County Convention and Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce that ticket sales for the 14th Annual Generals Breakfast at Cherry Mansion have begun. The event will be held on Saturday, April 4, beginning at 9 a.m., on the lawn of the historic home in Savannah. The Cherry Mansion came of note during the Civil War when General Ulysses S. Grant made his headquarters at the home during the Battle of Shiloh. The story goes that General Grant was enjoying breakfast with his staff in the Cherry Mansion, his headquarters, in Savannah, Tennessee when he heard the faint roar of artillery from the fighting at Pittsburg Landing down river; and said, “Gentlemen, the ball is in motion.”
Tickets for the event are $20 each and include the outdoor breakfast catered by Mollie Monday’s featuring hot biscuits, gravy, breakfast casserole, coffee and water and a selection of cherry treats, along with a storytelling program by the attending in character generals.
