Born and raised in McNairy County, Dr. Glover’s journey briefly took her beyond its borders to pursue higher education at Memphis State University and Lambuth College in Jackson. But even then, home was never far from her heart. It was at Lambuth where a defining moment occurred. Sitting in Dean Eagle’s U.S. History class, she discovered her calling. From that first day, she knew she was meant to teach.

That calling turned into a lifelong mission.

A Career That Shaped Generations

Dr. Glover’s career in education spanned decades and multiple roles, each one expanding her influence:

Assistant Principal, McNairy Central High School (1980–1992):

Guiding both students and faculty

Principal, McNairy Central High School (1992–1998): Leading with vision and integrity

Her leadership extended beyond McNairy County schools. She also served as Director of Institutional Research at Lambuth University and as an adjunct professor in the education department at the University of Tennessee at Martin’s McNairy/Selmer campus, continuing to shape future educators until her retirement in 2005.

A Life of Service Beyond the Classroom

For Dr. Glover, education was only one avenue of service. Her commitment to community is equally profound. She played a key role in launching the Imagination Library in McNairy County, helping ensure that children had access to books and early learning opportunities

Faith, Family, and Legacy

At the center of Dr. Glover’s life is her faith and her family.

A devoted member of First United Methodist Church in Selmer, she draws strength, hope, and purpose from her Christian beliefs—guiding her lifelong commitment to serving others.

Her family is a testament to a life well-lived. She is the proud mother of three children—Jim, Molly, and Jack along with daughters-in-law Stacey and Suzie. Her legacy continues through seven grandchildren and six great-granddaughters, each representing another generation shaped by her love and example.

Words of Wisdom for the Next Generation

Dr. Glover’s advice reflects the values she has lived by:

“Find what you love to do and work hard at it. Continue to improve your skills and talents through education and by learning from those who excel in what you love”

She also emphasizes the importance of engagement—both in civic life and in faith: “If we are to remain a democratic republic, we must be involved.” “My faith gives me courage, strength, love, and the desire to make life better for everyone—not just those like me, but all people.”

Mollena CimaWitt

Rooted in Legacy, Building the Future

In McNairy County, strong roots often grow into powerful futures and few stories reflect that more beautifully than that of Mollena Cima Witt. A proud native of McNairy County, with deep family ties to Adamsville, Mollena represents a new generation of women carrying forward a legacy of leadership, service, and community impact. Now newly married to Tucker Witt of Corinth, Mississippi, and eagerly awaiting the arrival of their daughter, Etta-Jane, this August, Mollena is stepping into an exciting new season of life—one grounded in both heritage and hope. And that name, Etta-Jane, is more than just meaningful, it’s a tribute. It honors two of the women who helped shape her life: her great-grandmother, Doretta Murray, and her grandmother, Carol Jane Cima. These women, along with her mother, Tiffany Cima, represent generations of influence in McNairy County. From business leadership to decades of service in education, their impact has been felt across classrooms, communities, and countless lives

“I’ve been surrounded by strong, impactful women my entire life,” Mollena shares. “I’ve seen firsthand the difference they make—not just in their families, but in their communities”

A Heart for Home and Community

Her work goes far beyond buying and selling houses.

Whether she’s helping a young couple purchase their first home, guiding a family toward their forever home, assisting investors with new opportunities, or helping someone find land to build a dream, Mollena approaches every client relationship with care, integrity, and a long-term vision.

Her mission is clear:

To help young people achieve homeownership

To build lasting relationships based on trust

To bring good people—and good opportunities—into her community

“I want to be someone people can trust,” she says. “Not just for a transaction, but for a relationship.”

Living Local, Leading Local Mollena’s commitment to her community doesn’t stop with her career. She is a familiar face at local events, showing up to support the people and traditions that make McNairy County special.

From cheering on the Adamsville Cardinals during football season to sponsoring game days, to attending Christmas parades, Halloween celebrations, and school events—her presence reflects a genuine love for the place she calls home.

When she’s not working or volunteering, you’ll likely find her enjoying quiet moments reading or spending time with family along the Tennessee River simple joys that keep her grounded in what matters most.

The Power of Women Who Lead

For Mollena, Women’s History Month is deeply personal. It’s not just about honoring women of the past—it’s about continuing their work in the present

She has watched the women in her family balance careers, raise families, care for generations, and still find ways to invest in their communities. Their example has shaped her belief in what women bring to the world.

“We care deeply. We lead with heart. And we bring people together,” she says. “When women are involved, communities become stronger, more supportive, and more inclusive.”

She also credits her father, Dennie Cima, for instilling in her a powerful mindset early in life—one that refused to accept limitations.

“I was never made to feel like there was something I couldn’t do because I was a girl,” she explains. “That stuck with me.”

A Legacy That Continues

As Mollena prepares to welcome her daughter into the world, she carries forward a legacy built by generations of strong women—while also writing her own chapter. Through her work, her community involvement, and her unwavering belief in the power of people, she is helping shape a future where others can thrive. And just like the women before her, she’s doing it with strength, grace, and heart.

This Women’s History Month, Mollena Cima Witt reminds us that legacy isn’t just something we inherit, it’s something we build, every single day.

The Hormone–Skin Connection: Why Estrogen, Stress, and Thyroid Shape Your Face

Your Skin Is a Hormone-Responsive Organ

Most people think of hormones in terms of mood, energy, or metabolism—but one of the most visible places hormones show up is your skin. In fact, your skin is one of the most hormone-sensitive organs in your body.

Fluctuations in key hormones estrogen, progesterone, cortisol, insulin, and thyroid hormone—directly influence how your skin looks and functions. These internal signals regulate:

Collagen production

Oil balance

Skin thickness

Healing speed

Pigmentation

Elasticity

When hormones shift, your face often tells the story before anything else does.

Estrogen: The Collagen Protector

Estrogen plays a foundational role in maintaining youthful, resilient skin. It helps:

Preserve collagen density

Maintain hydration

Support elasticity

Enhance blood flow

VALERIE BARBER

As estrogen levels decline—particularly during menopause—the impact on the skin can be dramatic. Research shows women may lose up to 30% of their collagen within the first five years after menopause.

This is why many women notice what feels like a sudden change:

Thinner skin

Crepey texture

Increased dryness

Faster wrinkle formation

This isn’t simply “aging.” It’s a hormonal transition happening beneath the surface

Cortisol: The Collagen Breaker

Cortisol, the body’s primary stress hormone, has a powerful effect on skin health—especially when levels remain elevated over time

Chronic stress can:

Break down collagen

Increase inflammation

Slow wound healing

Disrupt sleep cycles

Accelerate glycation (a process that stiffens and damages collagen)

Many high-performing women experience accelerated skin aging—not because of poor skincare—but because of prolonged stress. Simply put, the face often reflects what the nervous system is enduring.

Thyroid: The Overlooked Skin Regulator

Thyroid hormones control metabolism in nearly every cell—including your skin cells. When thyroid function is sluggish, the effects can become visible:

Dry, rough skin

Hair thinning

Puffiness

Slower healing

Dull complexion

Even subtle thyroid imbalances sometimes missed on standard lab panels can significantly impact skin vitality and appearance.

Insulin & Blood Sugar: The Texture

Shifters

Blood sugar instability is one of the most underestimated contributors to skin aging.

When insulin levels fluctuate, it increases inflammation and glycation, leading to:

Loss of elasticity

Sagging skin

Uneven tone

Acne flare-ups

Accelerated wrinkle formation

This is why daily dietary patterns often influence skin quality far more than topical products alone.

Why Hormone-Aware Aesthetics Matter

If hormones influence how your skin ages, then your skincare and aesthetic strategy should reflect that This doesn’t mean every woman needs hormone therapy. It means understanding where your body is in its hormonal timeline.

At Flourish Transformation Center, a deeper approach is taken by evaluating:

Comprehensive hormone panels

Advanced thyroid function

Cortisol patterns

Metabolic markers

Inflammation levels

When internal imbalances are addressed, aesthetic treatments perform at a higher level: Collagen responds more effectively

Skin heals faster

Results last longer

Aging Skin Requires Hormonal Awareness

Skin health cannot be separated from overall health. For many women, noticeable improvements in skin resilience begin internally

Key foundational steps include:

Hormone testing

Stress regulation

Thyroid evaluation

Blood sugar stabilization

Mineral optimization

From there, external treatments are layered strategically—not used as a standalone solution.

Sidebar: Signs Your Skin Changes May Be Hormone-Driven

If your skin changes feel sudden or unexplained, hormones may be a contributing factor. Common signs include:

Rapid texture changes

Noticeable collagen loss

Increased dryness

Adult-onset breakouts

Hair thinning

Puffiness

Slower healing

The Bottom Line

You may find yourself wondering: Why does my skin look different lately? Why did it seem to change so quickly? The truth is—it didn’t happen overnight, and it isn’t random. Your skin is responding to internal shifts—hormonal changes, stress patterns, and metabolic fluctuations—long before those changes become visible The mirror isn’t the cause. It’s the messenger. When estrogen shifts, collagen shifts

When cortisol rises, breakdown accelerates

When thyroid slows, texture changes

Understanding these signals allows you to take a proactive role in how your skin evolves—rather than reacting after changes feel advanced. At Flourish Transformation Center, the focus is on looking beneath the surface through comprehensive hormone testing, Biohack Blueprint analysis, and strategic skin assessments so aging is guided, not guessed.
