youth PRE-BALLET

Ages 3–5 Pre-Ballet is a wonderful introduction to the world of dance! We use imaginative games and mime to provide a sound Foundation for future dance education. Students learn how To work both independently and as a group. Wednesdays: 10:00–10:45am Session 2: November 4 – December 9 Fee:$120 per session Location: Dance Progressions Studio, 259 Sullivan Ave.

SPORTZ SKILLZ

Ages 5–8 and Ages 9–12

These classes are designed to promote physical fitness, fun and friendship in a safe environment. Dynamic games, exercises, and drills are used to enhance flexibility and build strength and coordination.

LEARN TO SKATE

All Ages

Learn to Skate is a beginning ice skating program that is

challenging and rewarding - but most of all, fun. Participation in

the program will enable beginning skaters of all ages and abilities to learn the fundamentals of ice skating while teaching them the

necessary skills that are used for their further skating advancement. Skate Rentals available for an additional $10 for each 4 week

Short and Suite Ages 8-16

The Connecticut Performing Arts Center presents the one act

Nutcracker Short and Suite! This is a perfect introduction to the Classic Holiday favorite. The story is condensed using a

combination of various dance styles, dialogue, and narration to tell the story that follows Clara and the Nutcracker.

All those who enroll will receive a part in the performance! Performances will be live-streamed only.

Autumn is a time when nature lets go and unwinds. A Kripalu

Yoga practice in November will keep you in alignment with these

natural rhythms. And a virtual practice from the privacy and cozy comfort of your own home is very inviting as the days become

SpecIal Events

Poker Ryed

Four Trails, Four Miles, Three or Four Laps, Five or Seven Cards!

November 7th • Rye Street Park • 12pm–3pm Join the South Windsor Parks & Recreation Department in our 3rd annual Poker Ryed! Come and see why those who ride Rye Street call it “a great workout” while trying your luck to create a winning hand! This family-friendly event is not a race! All experience levels welcomed. Eight bridges, six downhills, endless roots, and one skinny ride on the tight twisty trails created by the SWPRD Parks Crew. You will cross and recross dry brook as the terrain meanders through the hills and valleys hidden in woods of Rye Street Park. Your $12 fee for this event includes three or four varying laps around our course, one souvenir, and one raffle ticket. Format and course: this event involves riding your bike to five or seven different stops, drawing a playing card at each stop, and trying to assemble the best poker hand you can. The top hand will be awarded a CASH prize of half of all proceeds. The route will consist of singletrack. Online registration is required. Riders are able to start the course anywhere between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. that day.

Join us for some holiday skating at South Windsor Arena, 585 John Fitch Blvd., South Windsor.

It is recommended that a parent/guardian skate with

their child and must remain on the premises with their

child(ren) for the length of the event. It is suggested that all participants wear a helmet on the ice.

Donations of non-perishable food items for the South Windsor food bank can be dropped off at the mailbox.
