Fishing Derby 36th A N N U A L
APRIL 17, 2021 PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED.
Enjoy trout fishing at the well stocked pond in South Windsor’s Park on Barber Hill Rd. This FREE event features great fishing and fun! Bring a youngster and introduce them to the sport! No fishing license required for those under 16 years old. Seniors 65 and older can obtain a free lifelong license at the Town Clerk’s office. Bring your own equipment and bait! Pre-registration, masks and social distancing required. Register for EITHER 8:00-10:00am or 11:00am-1:00pm sessions. Registration begins April 12 at 8:00am.

Space is limited. Please register each person attending the event. Upon arrival, check in at the South Windsor Parks and Recreation tent to obtain each registered participant’s wristband. Families will be assigned a section to enjoy for their registered time period.
Moonlight Walk Saturday, April 24, 2021 @ 8:00pm
Join South Windsor Walk & Wheel Ways members for a Moonlight Walk through Nevers Park.
Meet us under the Rotary Pavilion at 55 Chief Ryan Way and get ready for a 1.5 mile walk through Nevers Park. The walk begins at 8:00pm. Social distancing and masks are required. Please bring a flashlight, family and friends!

Plug IntoYour
IMAGINATION! Classes held via Zoom
VIRTUAL CLASS
Plug into your imagination and explore new media such as video
game art, rice painting, newspaper watercolor and a sculpture made
with straws! Without leaving the country our imagination will plug us to Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France and India.
We will visit a lollipop garden; we will play on a watercolor piano; we will celebrate the Festival of Lights and more. We will even interface with famous artists such as Fernand Leger and Alberto Giacometti!
All supplies are included in the registration fee.
April 27 – June 1 TUESDAYS: 10:30 – 11:15am (ages 3-5) OR 4:15 – 5:00pm (ages 5-12) Residents: $75 / Non-Residents: $85
Track Club Kids Grade K-8 Our low-key running program will put some spring into your step and build your confidence for other sports. This twice a week fun-filled program of running, sprinting, hurdling, trail running and field events including the turbo-jav, discus, high jump, long jump and softball throw. Participate in track/cross country meets against other towns. Learn some fundamentals of good
health and exercise while getting into running shape. Please note that some organized track meets may fall on different days of the week than the program is typically scheduled.

Learn to
Skate All Ages Learn to Skate is a beginning ice skating program
that is challenging and rewarding - but most of all, fun. Participation in the program will enable beginning
skaters of all ages and abilities to learn the fundamentals of ice skating while teaching them the necessary skills that are used for their further skating advancement.
Skate Rentals available for an additional $10 for each 4 week session, must provide your own helmet.

Fitness VIRTUAL KRIPALU YOGA Classes held via Zoom
VIRTUAL CLASS
Welcome to Spring Kripalu Yoga Classes! Spring is a time of fresh starts, and Kripalu Yoga is the perfect way to revitalize and recharge yourself. The classes are fun, energizing the uplifting, but not difficult. The instructors are Sydnie or Paul Coté. We have been teaching yoga for many years. And we have been holding virtual Kripalu Yoga classes for the past 10 months via Zoom.
Adult USSSA Slow-Pitch Softball League Get a team together and enjoy summer nights at our Rye Street Field!
Choose to be a part of a more skilled division (A) or a more
recreational, fun division (B). Spots are first come, first serve with eight spots reserved for each division.
League includes: 14 regular season games officiated by our USSSA umpires, double elimination playoffs and best of
three championship series, banner in our backstop for one
season for regular season champions, trophy and award clothing for playoff champions, and trophy for 2nd place playoffs. Team practices will be from April 22nd – April 29th. - (A) Division plays Mondays and Tuesdays 6:15pm, 7:30pm, 8:45pm
We invite you to harness the renewing energy of spring by joining our Virtual Kripalu Yoga classes that you can take conveniently from your home. Zoom is very easy to operate. If you are unfamiliar with it, you can email us at yogacote@gmail. com and we will send you instructions.
ON THE MAT CLASSES We offer three on the mat classes each week. If you decide to join us you will have
the flexibility to attend as many of these classes as you can fit into your schedule. And
since all classes are accessible from your home, they are easy and convenient to attend.
CHAIR YOGA CLASS We will also be offering a Saturday Morning Chair Yoga Class during April.
This class alternates between sitting in a chair and standing using the chair for support. Chair yoga will improve your balance and leg strength and increase flexibility everywhere in your body. And is a great way to start the weekend.
All of our classes offer a deep guided relaxation at the end that will reduce your
tension and stress and give you an overall sense of well being like nothing else can. Classes begin the first week of April. We invite you to join us. If you have any questions, please email us at yogacote@gmail.com.

Reading – Writing – ‘Rithmatic – and… Recreation! A convenient, affordable, and FUN program for your children before and/or after school! AM Program: 7:00 AM – Start of School PM Program: School Dismissal – 6:00 PM • SPACE IS LIMITED for the 2021/2022 school year. All available spots and subsequent waitlist positions will be determined via
a lottery. Availability is dependent upon school and session.

The lottery will take place at the Wapping Parks and Recreation
Facility Gymnasium at the following times: - Eli Terry: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
- Orchard Hill: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
- Philip R. Smith: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
- Pleasant Valley: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
• Each lottery will begin at the top of the hour.
Please Note: · Masks are required throughout the duration of the lottery. Please help us maximize our social distancing efforts and have only one family member attend the lottery if at all possible.
· Parks and Recreation Department staff will be on site to oversee table games and activities for your child(ren) if necessary during the lottery.
· You must be present to confirm your position and any necessary details. Parks and Recreation staff will do our best to expedite this process, but please plan to stay for the entire hour.
· Wait lists do not roll over from the previous school year.
· Those that arrive after the lottery begins will be put into a second lottery to be completed after the initial process. · You must have a completed registration form to enter the lottery. Registration forms can be found on our website (recreation.southwindsor.org) or in the Parks and Recreation Department Office (91 Ayers Road)
· After the lottery is completed, any additional registrations will be added to the program and/ or waitlist (where applicable) on a first come, first served basis. · Available spots will be filled throughout the year according to wait list position.
