You may have driven along Red Arrow Highway outside Paw Paw past an elegant white Colonial-style mansion with four distinctive pillars, and wondered about getting a glimpse inside. If you are looking for a great salon experience, now you can! In 2018, the historical Harvey House property built at the turn of the 20th-Century opened to the public as a hair, skin, beauty and wellness salon.
The salon offers hair styling, facials --including DermaSound -- eyelash extensions, makeup application (and lessons), body waxing, therapeutic and deep-tissue massage, body waxing and body wraps. The products used at the salon are the highest quality, and natural – vegan, sulfate-free and easy on the environment! Salon owners April Webster and Chelsea Ausland have decades of experience in the beauty industry and promise a one-of-kind experience in an unforgettable setting! The Harvey House Salon has gone through an extensive restoration to bring it back to its stately splendor. The interior is magnifi cent with a grand staircase winding to the second fl oor and ornate wood trim and

furnishings. “We honored the space by keeping rooms, woodwork, and features intact,” says April Webster. “This allows our guests to experience the grandeur of an era passed. Many guests have commented that the space is warm and inviting and feels like home.”
The Harvey House was completed in 1904 for Edward Harvey and his family. Edward Howlett Harvey had a distinguished career that eventually landed him in Paw Paw in 1877. Harvey was born in Cazenovia, New York in 1845 and fought in the Civil War with the 7th Michigan Calvary under General George Custer. Discharged after being seriously wounded, Harvey entered the seminary and became a pastor in New Jersey, New England, Albion, Michigan and fi nally Paw Paw, where he took over as a Presbyterian minister when his pastor brother Henry fell ill.

For four years, Edward Harvey served as US Pension Agent in Detroit. He returned to Paw Paw and purchased land from his brother to build the Harvey House. Harvey and his wife Florence were active in the Paw Paw community and Edward would even host the Paw Paw High School graduating class every year at the house! Fittingly, the Harvey House Salon has become a popular destination for weddings, and proms! As a full service salon and spa in one of the most beautiful buildings in West Michigan, Harvey House Salon guarantees their customers will be treated to a genuine royal experience!
