We use bright and enticing, flavor-forward imagery that prompts the viewer to want to eat their screen. Yummy and delicious are two adjectives that should be used to describe all Quest products on our social media channels.

As one of our core principals, transformation plays a huge role with our fans. We encourage and support people making positive changes in their life. Quest social channels are a celebration of the Quest lifestyle.

Many people don’t know you can cook with Quest products. Whether it’s a recipe from our own kitchen or a fan-made creation, we encourage people to experiment and create with Quest products and to share their recipes with everyone.

Our fans are highly engaged and love sharing the new and exciting ways they use our products. Whether it’s a recipe hack, a transformation or a photo of a Quest Protein Bar at Machu Picchu, it has a home on our social media.

PROTEIN PRODUCT FORM:

The word "Protein" is the height of the cross bar of the "T" in the Quest logotype*. The font for "Protein" is Trade Gothic Condensed Bold No. 20. The product form always follows "Protein" in the same font. *The only exception to this rule is when it is decided to lead with form over flavor. For example: Protein Chips

The Quest Protein logotype changes color with each individual product.

The color of the logotype is determined by the secondary flavor color, which is usually inspired by the ingredient photography OR a darker tone of the background color. The goal is to create the most contrast or vibrancy on pack (see examples on page 28).

The Quest packaging logo is made up of 3 elements: - the word "Quest" with ÂŽ - the word "Protein" followed by product form - the white distressed banner

The Quest Protein logotype sits in a white distressed banner. The color of the distressing is made by the background color. The right edge of the logo banner should never be visible on pack. Depending on product form, it is either covered by food photography or goes all the way to the right edge of the pack (see examples on page 28).

Using the darkest color found in the photography is the preferred method of choosing the logotype color.

As mentioned on the previous page, the right edge of the logo banner should never be visible on pack. Depending on product form, it is either covered by food photography or goes all the way to the right edge of the pack.

Horizontal Pack: The food will always cover the right edge of the logo banner.

Alternatively, the logotype color may be a darker tone of the background color.

Vertical Pack: Depending on the optimal position of the food and logo size, the logo banner will either get covered by food OR extend all the way to right side of package.

OVERVIEW

Quest photography is all about the amazingly delicious Quest flavors. The images should be highly craveable, colorful, textural, and not perfect (but not messy). We want Quest products to look just as good (if not better) than the snack or dessert they are replacing. We want consumers to know how great it tastes even before taking a bite. We chose the 3/4 angle as the ideal way to showcase the delicious shapes and textures of the food. The focus is full to capture the entire image.

PROTEIN BARS The photography for Protein Bars is supposed to capture the delicious flavor it represents. We do not show the actual bar, only the flavor cues. Each flavor requires both a horizontal shot and vertical shot to accommodate the different size panels of the cartons and wrappers.

PROTEIN POWDERS The photography for Protein Powders is supposed to capture the delicious flavor it represents and what the mixed product will look like. Each glass has a splash unique to that flavor and the splash is created by the flavor cues. Secondary flavor cues are shot toward the bottom of the glass for even more appetite appeal.

For Oil Powders, we wanted a clear differentiation from Protein Powders. We wanted to highlight the powder itself instead of the mixed product because it can be used in many different ways. We chose an overhead view for these products to do so.

PROTEIN CHIPS For both Original Style and Tortilla Style Protein Chips, we want to highlight the form of the chips followed by the delicious flavor cues. Each shot of the chips is a unique composition, however, we always start with 2 overlapping chips at the top and follow with 1 chip below. That one chip can interact with the food below in different ways depending on its angle and the shape of the flavor cue.

THIN CRUST PIZZA For Thin Crust Pizza, we want to highlight the form of the ingredients followed by the delicious pizza slice. Each shot of the ingredients is a unique composition, however, we always start with a mozzarella ball drizzled with olive oil and a topping of basil. Secondary ingredients are defined by the flavor.

PROTEIN COOKIES For Protein Cookies, we switched to the overhead camera angle to get the cookie as big as possible on pack and to capture all the unique textures each flavor has to offer. Each cookie is styled with a bite taken out of the top left side and some crumbs sitting on the surface by that bite. Secondary flavor cues only appear on the reverse of the packaging.

These badges were designed with the shape of the bar in mind. Any other future call outs that need a badge should use this shape with Cervo Medium as the font.

USAGE RULES These icons are a simple, flat illustration to represent the flavor. Use in only 1 or 2 colors picked up from logo/background colors. Do not add dimension or shadows, and do not complicate. The flavor icon holds the Protein message and should always have the distressed texture in the background except for on the bar wrappers (because of printability issues). See nondistressed flavor icon to the right.

The distressed texture is used in the white logo banner, the flavor icons, and in some romance copy. There are 6 different versions to use for different sizes and substrates - see images above for how to use these correctly.

All of the products in the Quest portfolio should look like a family. Because of different needs for different product forms and different structures, they cannot all look exactly the same. However, we have created a few rules to ensure they all hang together as a family: QUEST LOGO - Always sits in the top 1/3 portion of the pack and should be the first read. There is always space between the top of the pack and the top of the logo banner. This amount of space varies with the different product forms and packaging structures. PHOTOGRAPHY - Always sits on the right side and should be the second read on pack. For most products, we show the product with flavor cues. However, for Protein Bars, we only show flavor cues. FLAVOR NAME & BENEFITS - Always sit on the left side of the pack. Depending on structure shape, the benefits will either sit under the flavor name or next to it. These should be the third and fourth read on pack. BACKGROUND - The background color should always relate to the flavor. It is a flat color with no texture. A soft glow in a lighter tint of that background color will always emanate from behind the food photography to add depth to the pack and to hero the food.
