Fred and Mick, two old friends, are on vacation in an elegant hotel at the foot of the Alps. Fred, a composer and conductor, is now retired. Mick, a film director, is still working. With curiosity and tenderness they look on their children's confused lives, Mick's enthusiastic young writers, and the other hotel guests. While Mick struggles to finish the screenplay for what he imagines will be his last important film, Fred has no intention of resuming his musical career. But someone wants to hear him conduct again – at all costs.

Amnesia Barbet Schroeder

* 1941 in Tehran, Iran. Swiss citizenship. After a childhood in Colombia moves to Paris in 1952, where he studies Philosophy at the Sorbonne. 1958 – 63 Works as journalist and collaborates with Cahiers du Cinéma. 1962 Assistant to Jean-Luc Godard on LES CARABINIERS. 1963 Founds the production company Les films du Losange and produces Eric Rohmer's first two films. Schroeder directed big budget Hollywood films such as SINGLE WHITE FEMALE (1992) or MURDER BY NUMBERS (2002). He received the César (Best Documentary) for TERROR’S ADVOCATE in 2007.

Ibiza, the early nineties, Jo is a twenty-five-yearold music composer. He has come over from Berlin and wants to be part of the nascent electronic music revolution, ideally by getting a job first as a DJ in the new nightclub on the island, Amnesia. Martha has been living alone in her house facing the sea for forty years. One night Jo knocks on her door. Her solitude intrigues him. They become friends even as the mysteries around her accumulate: that cello in the corner she refuses to play, the German language she refuses to speak… As Jo draws her into his world of techno music, Martha puts everything she had previously lived by into question.

In Portugal, a country in crisis, a film director proposes to build fictional stories from the miserable reality he's immersed in. However, failing to find meaning in his work, he cowardly runs away and leaves the beautiful Scheherazade to stand in his shoes. She will require enthusiasm and courage so as not to bore the King with sad stories of this country! As nights go past, restlessness leads to desolation and in turn to enchantment. Therefore she organises the stories she tells the King in three volumes. She begins like this: “It hath reached me, O auspicious King, that in a sad country …”

* 1972 in Lisbon, Portugal. Studied Film at Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema in Lisbon. 1996 – 2000 Works as a film critic. Gomes directed his first feature in 2004: THE FACE YOU DESERVE and continued his successful international film career with OUR BELOVED MONTH OF AUGUST (2008). He won several awards for his latest film TABU (2012), such as The Alfred Bauer Award and the FIPRESCI prize at the Berlinale 2012. TABU has been sold to over 50 countries.

João Pedro Plácido has been working in features, shorts, documentaries and commercials all around the world since 2000 and since 2009 as a cinematographer. At Uz, a tiny hamlet in Portugal's northern mountains, emptied by emigration, only a few dozen peasants remain. In 1984 Colla founds the production company Peacock Film AG, in 1985 receives degree in German studies and Romance languages from the University of Zurich. Since 2002 lecturer at the EICT (Escuela Internacional de Cine y Television) in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. Colla is known for his OBJECTION series (1999 – 2012) and for SUMMER GAMES (2011), for which he received the Swiss Film Award 2012 for Best Fiction Film and Best Screenplay.

Ivan and Chiara meet on a Sicilian island to prepare the wedding for Ivan’s brother and Chiara’s best friend. Despite the fact that Ivan is determined not to repeat the failure of his last relationship and Chiara does not want to jeopardize her marriage, the two fall in love with each other. In 1984 he founded the production company Catpics AG. For JOURNEY OF HOPE (1990) Koller received the Academy Award, Best Foreign Language Film in 1991. Amateur Teens Niklaus Hilber

* 1970 in Fribourg, Switzerland. Studied directing at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and screenwriting at the AFI in Los Angeles. Since 1998 works as screenwriter and director. Lives in Zurich. He is known for his films AIMLESS (2014) and CANNABIS (2006).

A group of ordinary 15-year-old teenagers at a secondary school in Zurich, hungry for life, insecure, full of longing and anxiety. But the power of social media, with its high-gloss selfies and perpetual pressure towards being cooler and sexier, increasingly forces the kids to deny their true feelings. A tragedy runs its course, one in which it is almost impossible to differentiate between perpetrator and victim, guilt and innocence.

KÖPEK means dog in Turkish and is Isik's eagerly awaited first feature film.

Max is a fictitious character, born out of Klopfenstein’s fantasy, the filmmaker who also created Max’s beloved, though she constantly rebuffs him. Because the director has had a creative crisis for a long time now, his characters haunt the film world of their creator – until Max calls on his “master” and obtains special permission. The compilation film, assembled from works by the famous Swiss director Clemens Klopfenstein, ventures something entirely unique in film history: it tells a new, self-contained story based on the works by one sole director.

Ruxandra Zenide studied film directing at New York University and at FAMU (Filmová a Televizní fakulata Akademie múzických umení), Prague. She has received many international awards for her short film GREEN OAKS (2003) as well as for her first feature RYNA (2005).

In the heart of the Danube Delta, earth and water, superstition and religion are mixed together to make up the mysterious and miraculous Tekir’s mud. Accused of witchery and chased away from her village, Mara finds herself employed at the Tekir Hotel, specifically in charge of the rich and eccentric Mrs. Lili, providing her treatment with this miraculous mud. The relationship between the two women will become the key of the miracle of Tekir, between magic and power, tradition and modernity.

Twenty of the most energetic, emerging producers from across Europe are selected to participate in the networking platform PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE at the Festival de Cannes 2015. Representing Switzerland this year, as recommended by SWISS FILMS, is Aline Schmid (Intermezzo Films, Geneva). After studying Social Sciences and Screenwriting she worked as Head of Distribution at Cineworx and as the managing director of the Cinema Tous Ecrans Film Festival. In 2011, she joined Intermezzo Films. Her much-acclaimed production BROKEN LAND was screened in Locarno and Rotterdam. Her two latest films – HORIZONTES and GANGBÉ! – have celebrated their world premiere at Visions du Réel 2015.
