Correction In August we reported on the front page that Laura Drayton from West] ea had been knocked down crossing Langstone Way by a speeding car, on her way to catch the school bus. This was incorrect. We are informed that the car was not travelling overthe 30mph speed limit and we apologise for adding to the distress already experienced by the driver.

district finalist receives a bursary of £500 and the overall national winner gets an additional £1,000,allof which must bespent on the project with which they are serving. The scheme has long been sponsored by Lloyds Bank to help youth furthering the Lions motto of 'We serve'. West Swindon Lions President Gloria Haynes says, "we often hear of the 'could not care less' attitude of young people, but the Lions show time after time that today's youth do care." Anyone knowing of a suitable youngster should contact Lions, Gloria Haynes - 771822, or Graham Reeve -881157. • Yearof the Family-Lions and CALM help family on page 35.

More petition collectors wanted for hospital campaign The campaign to save the threatened Princess Alexandra RAF Hospital at Wroughton needs more people to collect names on a petition calling for the proposal, to close it to be dropped. Campaign organiser Jim Masters said there has been massive support in oppostion to the closure, but many more people have to express their views. "We need more help to collect petition signatures to show the Government that people in Swindon care about saving this hospital which is essential to the armed services, and to the National Health Service." If you can help, call Jim Masters on 525768.
