Children have the chance to get into the spirit of bonfire night (with leftovers from Halloween) at a Haunted House Workshop, all afternoon on Friday 1st November, starting at 1230pm. Marie Brett from Swindon's Town Hall Dance Studios is organising a craft and dance workshop at Toothfll Farm Centre, Bodia m Drive. Youngsters will be making lanterns, bats, gouts and ghosties, and some will be working on a dance to be performed in front of the crowds at the bonfire at the farm during the evening. The workshops are entirely free and youngsters should just turn up ready to make and create.

Playscheme seasonal fun West Swindon's free playscheme - WASPS - joined in with the spirit of Halloween and Guy Fawkes with a week of half term activities for 5 to 12 year olds at Toothill Farm starting 28 October. Putting some balance into the education arguement Last month we featured exam result and comments from the headteachers of Bradon Forest, Greendown and Ridgeway Schools, the three secondary schools designated to receive West Swindon children. Regrettably, Greendown was the brunt of sensationalist and unfair reporting in the local evening paper during October. On pages 14 and 15 the head, staff and ex-students of Greendown put the record straight.
