K-1 PROGRAM
@ Swift
The mission of Swift School is to prepare students with
dyslexia and related language-based learning differences to be successful in life.
SUCCESS starts here
The kindergarten and first grade years are a special time in a student's life. Beginning in 2024-25, Swift School is excited to offer a K-1 program. K-1 is the first formal learning experience, one that will last well into high school and even college. The early years are vital to a student's success. Are you experiencing uncertainty or concern regarding your child's language-related diagnosis? At Swift School, optimism prevails. Students don't have to wait to fail. From the very first day, intervention takes precedence, with our dedicated teachers guiding students to a path of success in school and in life. "At Swift, intervention begins on the very first day, as soon as students walk through the door," stated Mrs. Roni Battoglia, the Lower Division Director. "In public schools, students typically need to demonstrate 12 weeks of failure and undergo data collection to qualify for learning accomodations. Here, we take proactive steps and initiate intervention from the moment they walk through our doors.” “It's very important for students to begin grasping their identity as learners,” she explained. “While they may not fully comprehend their entire learning profile at this stage of development, they can grasp that they learn in a unique way, and that's perfectly fine. They will begin to recognize the importance of asking for help and advocating for themselves. That skill will take them far.” Throughout the day, instruction will be delivered utilizing multisensory, direct, and systematic approaches. All students will experience a well-rounded academic and social program. The first grade students will attend exploratory classes in art, music, PE and STEAM, as well as receive instruction in science and social studies.

IMMERSIVE LEARNING All about a Swift School education
Swift School serves students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade diagnosed with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. As a specialized regional and national leader in the education of dyslexic students, Swift's programming is designed to remediate language learning challenges and deficits while also addressing the reasoning strengths of dyslexia. Swift students are bright, creative, and possess mmense potential; too often that potential is unrealized elsewhere. Many Swift students arrive as frustrated learners with low self-esteem. Swift offers a supportive, immersive learning environment for these students. In every class and throughout the day, expert educators use evidence-based techniques tailored to individual learning profiles. At Swift, students are provided multisensory instruction that is based upon the guiding principles of the Orton-Gillingham Approach, which targets and capitalizes on the cognitive and reasoning abilities of children with dyslexia. Swift School's academic programming follows the Georgia Standards of Excellence. Orton Gillingham Academy is the oldest and leading accrediting organization in the United States that credentials educators seeking certification in the Orton-Gillingham Approach. All Swift faculty members are certified educators and trained in the Orton-Gillingham Approach, in addition to other highly specialized programs. To ensure consistent instruction, faculty members are required to complete a supervised practicum led by an Orton-Gillingham Fellow. This high level of training and supervision is unique to Swift and a handful of other schools regionally and nationally with the result being increased student achievement.
In essence, Swift provides students “the gold standard.”
