Humans have a moral obligation to protect the environment and promote the sustainable development of the planet for future generations. Environmental degradation is detrimental and is jeopardizing the longterm health and security of animals, plants, and humans. Now more than ever, it is important that we understand the impact our actions have on the environment. To become more environmentally aware, we also need to take measures to protect the planet and hopefully undo some of the damage already caused by human activity. Behaving in a more environmentally conscious manner can be as simple as making minor changes to your lifestyle. Individuals affect the environment in a variety of ways including pollution emission to land, air, and water, use of natural resources, energy consumption, and waste. Treetify Pvt. Ltd is a team of millennials gathered up through this start-up, fighting for their and coming generations’ future. They impart information and knowledge to educate people and bring Environmental Empathy into everyone’s heart. They do a lot of research, planning then execution to keep everything aligned sustainably while delivering plants, products, and services, also maintaining the fund flow for the cause. It was the year 2019, Kullu District Himachal Pradesh, they were trekking to one of the very famous places in Parvati Valley, Kheerganga. While on the trek, with ecstatic views and soothing white noises, there were domes of plastic at all the places. At 13000 ft. above sea level, seriously? That’s all humans left behind. Returning from the trek, it was no day passed till October 2020 without reading and looking more after about these issues. Concluding that people’s quick education and lasting empathy should be the very first step. They decided to start Treetify to look for like-minded people to put in work together for a sustainable future.

Why is environmental awareness important?

There is no doubt that human activity is hugely responsible for damaging the environment. The fact that concentrations of greenhouse gases have increased by more than a third since the industrial revolution highlights our impact. Therefore, it is our responsibility to improve our environmental awareness and change our behavior. The rise in greenhouse gas emissions contributes to the enhanced greenhouse effect, which has caused global temperatures to rise. These gases also cause air, land, and water pollution. Pollution affects the quality of food, which might cause the ingestion of toxic substances. Poorer air quality also poses severe risks to human health. Deforestation is another example of how human activity is impacting the environment. Forests provide us with raw materials such as food and medicine. Trees are also an important ‘carbon sink’, which means they help to balance out the concentrations of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere by absorbing it during photosynthesis. With fewer trees, we are enhancing the greenhouse effect which means global temperatures are rising. This causes drastic climate changes such as hurricanes, droughts, and floods. Treetify Pvt. Ltd communicates a positive influence on the citizens of India about how all humans are an integral part of nature and they must empathize with nature to create balance and harmony. They at Treetify pledge to make every Indian a warrior in this fight against the destruction of nature. Because in the coming avoidable catastrophe no one should be left behind.

The environmental effects

The biggest problem the world is facing today is environmental pollution. Environmental impacts include the five basic types of pollution: air, water, soil, noise, and light. Environmental pollution is the contamination of the physical and biological components of the earth to such an extent that normal environmental processes are adversely affected. Air pollution affects all things. It is harmful to our health, and it impacts the environment - reducing visibility and blocking sunlight, causing acid rain, and harming forests, wildlife, and agriculture. Greenhouse gas pollution, the cause of climate change, affect the entire planet.

Effects Of Air Pollution

The effects of air pollution on the human body depend on the type of pollutant and the length and level of exposure, as well as other factors, including the individual’s health risks and the cumulative effects of multiple pollutants or stressors.

 Harm To Human Health: Ground-level ozone causes the muscles in the lungs to contract, making breathing difficult. Exposure to high levels of ozone can cause sore throat, cough, inflammation of the lungs, and permanent damage to the lungs.

 Harming Animals and Plants: Damage to the respiratory system is the most common effect on animals, but neurological problems and skin irritation are also common.

Ozone pollution harms plants by damaging structures called stomata, which are tiny pores on the underside of leaves that allow the plant to “breathe.” Some types of plants can protect themselves by temporarily closing their stomata or by producing antioxidants, but others are particularly vulnerable to damage.

 Affects Aquatic Life: Water contamination has a significant impact on aquatic life. It affects their metabolism and behavior, as well as causes disease and death. Dioxin is a toxin that causes a variety of issues, ranging from reproductive issues to uncontrolled cell development and cancer. This chemical accumulates in fish, poultry, and meat.

Chemicals like these make their way up the food chain before entering the human body.

 Groundwater contamination: Pesticides and fertilizers used in agricultural production pollute groundwater as well as our ecology. If this groundwater is directly delivered to our home via bore-wells or tube-wells, it will cause a multitude of health issues.

 Affects Human Health: Pollution affects humans, and fecal matter in water sources can cause illnesses such as hepatitis. Poor drinking water treatment and contaminated water can always lead to an epidemic of infectious illnesses like cholera.

Effect of Soil Pollution

 Effects on humans: The contamination of soil has a major consequence on human health. Crops and plants that are grown on polluted soil absorb most of the pollution and then pass them to humans. Living, working, or playing in contaminated soil can lead to respiratory diseases, skin diseases, and other health problems. Diseases caused by soil pollution include  Effects on Plants: In such a short period, plants are unable to adapt to the soil change chemistry. Fungi and bacteria found in the soil that bind them together start to decline, which creates an additional problem in soil erosion. Regular use of chemical fertilizers, inorganic fertilizers, pesticides will decrease the fertility of the soil and alter the structure of the soil.

This will lead to a decrease in soil quality and poor quality of crops. The fertility of the soil diminishes slowly, making land unsuitable for agriculture and any local vegetation to survive.

 Effects on the Ecosystem: The soil is an important habitat for different types of microorganisms, birds, and insects. Thus, changes in the chemistry of soil can negatively impact the lives of living organisms and can result in the gradual death of many organisms.

Conclusion

If pollution is not controlled, by 2030, our environment will become so poisonous that it will be necessary to use an oxygen kit to breathe easily. Rising pollution will also lead to premature aging. Human exposure to different kinds of toxins will increase to a great extent leading to unbalance of the ecosystem.
