PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Dear Friends,
I hope that you, your family and friends are all keeping well.
Since our last April Newsletter, many things have happened, some good and some sad.
The second half of the year was tremendous in terms of table tennis. A great World Masters Championships in Rome beginning of July where the ITTF, Italian TT Association and Local Organisers organised a record breaking event with the number of participants (some 6000) representing 56 associations. Those of you who were present had a taste of Italian hospitality.
Then the marvellous and unforgettable Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, putting the sport in the city. A successful decision and what an atmosphere in the TT arena!
Normally all of you must have received by post the 2024 SCI New Directory together with a SCI pin. If it is not the case, ple ase contact us.
In our last newsletter I was encouraging all the National representatives to be active in their respective countries and to t ry to recruit more members. This is a task for each one of you!
Contact your former partners, teammates, opponents, and ask them to join us to help and secure the future of our unique club.
The sad thing is the demise of our secretary, Harvey, in November. So sudden, so cruel… Harvey was much loved by all of us. He was calm, wise, caring and very kind. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
But life continues and this is also the time for wishing all of you a wonderful festive season and even a little bit in advan ce a Happy New Year 2025.
