Isak Smit, die eienaar van Piket Dohne Merino-stoet in die Eendekuildistrik, het onlangs sy 13de produksieveiling aangebied.

Die aanbod het bestaan uit 81 A & AA ramme en 72 oop ooie.

Die duurste Dohne Merino-ram (MR 19-538) van die dag is verkoop aan HL Kitshoff & Seuns van Moorreesburg vir 'n bedrag van R 72 000.

Die gemiddeld oor die ramme was R 13 475.

Multiple panes of glass are better than one large pane. Multiple glass panes provide added strength and durability to repel break-in attempts.

If you’re looking to increase the security of your current windows, these devices can help: Window bars for added security Add after-market window locks to your built in window locks. These simple gadgets are cheap and very successful at helping to stop a window from being forced open. Depending on your window style, you may need double hung window locks, sliding window locks, or locks for casement windows (sometimes called crank windows.)

Exterior window bars can be added for additional protection. Many window bars come in decorative designs and can accent the style of your house just as well as they can help protect your windows.

Security film can be added to windows to decrease the likelihood of break-ins. Thicker film provides the highest level of protection.

Spring is in the air - almost!

Unfortunately, there will be no walking among the thousands of flowers that blanket the West Coast National Park this year as only self-drive excursions are allowed, meaning visitors may not leave their vehicles.

However, that doesn’t have to stop you from making a day of it and getting a splendid view of the colourful fynbos welcoming spring. Avid birders can pack their binoculars too, as our feathered friends should be out and about.

The best viewing time is during August and

September. Postberg Nature Reserve is popular for flower viewing and will open to visitors on August 4 from 10am to 4pm.

To get there, follow the R27 north from Cape Town along the West Coast. The Park is situated about 1 hour 30 minutes from Cape Town.
