We'll provide the training and support to help you learn new skills, and you'll get a great feeling from helping those in need. Each year over 35,000 TaxAide volunteers serve over 2 million people nationally.

Last tax season, volunteers filed returns for over 200 taxpayers in the Ridgecrest area.Tax Counselors work with taxpayers by filing tax returns.

Client Facilitators welcome taxpayers, help organize paperwork, and manage the overall flow of service. Technology Coordinators manage computer equipment, ensure taxpayer data is secure, and provide technical

assistance to volunteers. We have a big demand for bilingual speakers in all roles.

Please come to an Orientation Meeting to see if this is something you are interested in. You will have the opportunity to hear and talk about which volunteer position is best for you. Curry Chicken

2 tablespoons vegetable oil 1 tablespoon butter 6 chicken thighs or you can use breasts Salt and pepper 1 cup chopped onion 3 teaspoons curry powder 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon cumin 2 carrots sliced 1 1/2 cups chicken stock 1/4 cup heavy cream 3/4 cup frozen peas Your favorite rice cooked 1/4 cup chopped celantro for garnish

Heat oil in large skillet and stir in butter to melt. Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper. Cook thighs skin side down until golden brown. Flip chicken and continue to cook until golden brown. Set chicken aside Stir in onions and cook until tender. Stir in curry, cinnamon and cumin and cook until aromas are released. Stir in carrots and toss to coat. Add chicken stock and bring to a simmer.

Place chicken thighs back into skillet. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes to cook chicken.

Stir in cream and peas. Top with celantro.. Serve with rice.

Exhibits shall be so installed that they will not extend beyond the space alloted. Distribution of printed matter, souvenirs or other articles must be restricted to the space of the exhibit. Any part of the exhibit that is over eight (8’) high must have written approval for installation by The Daily Independent & The Swap Sheet. No individual public address systems or highly flammable materials will be permitted on the premises. Music or audio-visual sounds must not be audible more than five (5’) feet from booth.

Exhibitors are to remain within the confines of their booth and are not to work in public aisles.

Teardown Exhibits shall not be taken down prior to 5pm, Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, 2023

Liability

The Daily Independent & The Swap Sheet cannot guarantee exhibitors against loss or damage of any kind. Space is leased with the understanding that the exhibitors will hold sponsors harmless from any or all liabilities from any cause. The Daily Independent & The Swap Sheet shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, or injury that may occur to the exhibitors, their employees or property from any cause whatsoever prior, during or subsequent to the period covered by the exhibit contract and the exhibitor on signing the contract expressly releases sponsors and all claims for such loss, damage, or injury.

Eventuality

In any case of facility damage caused by fire, other elements or causes, or in case any other circumstances shall make it impossible for Management to permit the contracted space to be occupied by the exhibitor shall waive any claim for damage or compensation except the pro-rate return of the amount paid for space rental.
