$12,000 Rolex raffled by Ridgecrest Pregnancy Care Center
Rolex Submariner For tickets call 442-294-9539
"We rely on the good citizens of Ridgecrest, churches, and business owners," said Judy Bernard, Executive Director of the Ridgecrest Pregnancy Care Center. The organization will be holding a fundraiser raffle over the next month thanks to a donor's generous donation of a fine watch. The watch is a Rolex Submariner, appraised as $12,500 last year. Bernard notes that the price of gold has gone up since. If the winner has no need for the watch, a buyer has been secured to purchase it for $10,000 cash. Tickets sell for $100 each and the raffle will go on until 250 tickets are sold. The date of the drawing for the winner is currently to be announced, the Center is aiming for mid December, at Santa's Artshop. The Pregnancy Care Center is a non-profit organization that receives no state or federal funding, relying on community donors. Recently, High Desert Air Ductor supported the Center by donating the HVAC air conditioner they required, as part of their "Do What is Right" program. A timely donation from elsewhere paid for the labor. The Center provides a substantial number of services in support of pregnancies, including confirmation and free prenatal vitamins. Going beyond the pregnancy they offer free online courses in 2,000 parenting subjects, even going beyond and educating parents on how to buy their first home, among other courses. Performing these short, 8-10 minute, educational courses earns the parents Baby Bucks to be spent on any number of useful supplies from diapers to car seats in their Baby Boutique. These courses can be taken by both parents and grandparents to support the new family. Once their B-suite is prepared they intend to do in-person courses and visual learning. They also plan on offering a 10 week Bible study to treat depression and anxiety suffered by abortion recipients. Thanks to the Daily Independent for this article and information
