We'll provide the training and support to help you learn new skills, and you'll get a great feeling from helping those in need. Each year over 35,000 TaxAide volunteers serve over 2 million people nationally. Last tax season, volunteers filed returns for over 200 taxpayers in the Ridgecrest area.Tax Counselors work with taxpayers by filing tax returns.
Client Facilitators welcome taxpayers, help organize paperwork, and manage the overall flow of service. Technology Coordinators manage computer equipment, ensure taxpayer data is secure, and provide technical assistance to volunteers. We have a big demand for bilingual speakers in all roles. Please come to an Orientation Meeting to see if this is something you are interested in. You will have the opportunity to hear and talk about which volunteer position is best for you. All positions will attend additional training sessions.Some computer skills are required but training will be provided by experienced TaxAide volunteers. The program operates from February 1 through April 18 with a minimum service commitment of 10-12 hours per week. Training (4080 hours) will be from December to February and is mostly online with some in-person help. Volunteers are reimbursed for mileage.

In a soup kettle, saute onions in oil over medium heat for 10 minutes or until tender. Add the add all ingredients except spinach; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Stir in spinach; simmer for 3-5 minutes or until tender.
