Ingredients Filling: 8 cups blackberries 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon 1 1/4 cups sugar Batter: 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 tablespoon baking powder Salt 1 1/2 stick butter 1/3 cup sugar 1 egg 1/2 cup heavy cream 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions Preheat oven 350 degrees F. Combine the blackberries, flour, cinnamon, and sugar in pot and heat over low heat in a cast iron pan. Allow the sugar to dissolve and the syrup to form. Over medium heat, bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat and allow it to cook until tender. Set aside and keep warm. Mix all batter ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. Pour batter over berries and return to the center of the oven and bake for approximately1 hour or until brown on top.
