Laindon War Memorial relocated

wan has moved the War Memorial and Jubilee Fountain to a temporary location so that work can commence on the new public realm that will form the heart of Laindon Place.
What to expect over the coming months Subject to approvals, Danacre will be restricted to one way traffic for four weeks as work to stormwater drains is completed. On the Landmark site at Burdock Drive, the internal and external works will continue. There should be a reduction to the number of heavy lorries delivering to this site but small trade deliveries will continue.
JAN
Fine art and antiquities removal experts, Momart (momart.com), carried out the removal and temporary re-instatement. Momart has a Royal Warrant. They will return to install both of these much loved memorials to the centre of the new high street.
FEB
The Swan team worked with local historian, Ken Porter, to create a bespoke hoarding around the War Memorial. It highlights the names of all the veterans who lost their lives from Laindon and the surrounding areas during the First World War and World War II.
MARCH
The names will be recorded permanently once the memorial is sited in its final position. Swan is working with Building Crafts College Stone Masons in Stratford to ensure a fitting reminder remains. Laindon Place | Newsletter - January 2020
Internal fit out work will continue on the Landmark site at Burdock Drive. On the Laindon Place site, podium and groundworks continue.
Works to the Phase 1B podium slab will be completed, with fixings to be cast in ready for CLT modular units on Block A. The Phase 2B Block E pile caps and Stair Core foundation will be complete. Works on the Landmark site on Burdock Drive will continue.
