Did you know? The play equipment has a nautical theme to celebrate the maritime history of the local area.
Development update: The transformation continues Phase 1B –The landscaping work on Phase 1B close to Blackwall DLR Station is now finished and open to the public. This area includes play equipment open to children who live on the estate and in the local area. Phase 2 – Work to install the external walls of the new homes is well underway on all four buildings. This work is most noticeable on Wayfare House (block C3) on Poplar High Street, where half of the building now has the pre-cast concrete façade panels in place. The next stage of the façade installation will start on Gosnold House (block C2) soon. On Woolmore Street, Venture House (block D) and Quest House (block C1) are now surrounded by scaffolding ahead of the start of bricklaying. These works are essential to start closing up the building, making it watertight so internal work can begin. Work has already begun on the internal walls of Venture House. The basement level work is almost complete so the electrical and mechanical installation works above
the ground floor can start soon. The heating pipework has been successfully extended from the energy centre in Phase 1B to Phase 2 and up to Phase 1A. This work will allow all the development phases to be connected to Blackwall’s district heating system. Phase 3 – Following the public consultation, we submitted a planning application approval for 315 new residential homes, a café/restaurant, concierge and communal space for residents, all within 2 main buildings between six and 12 storeys in height. The landscape will include new gardens, children’s playspace and improvements to the Millennium Green. We are currently awaiting a planning decision and hope to have an update later in Spring.

Update on bin collections Swan’s Estate Services Team have been assisting with refuse overflows caused by collections missed by London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The refuse collections are returning to normal again but we encourage everyone to report any further missed collections through the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council Self Service portal https://towerhamlets-self.achieveservice.com/ service/Report_a_missed_bin_collection Swan has provided access to an additional recycling refuse store in Perseus Court, please speak to the concierge if you need to use it. This is emptied weekly by Swan Estate Services. Work to increase the size of the underground refuse system (URS) chambers in this area is expected to begin in May. A new surface material that will protect the chambers from water damage and is easier to clean will be installed at the same time. The replacement surface material will coordinate with the existing colour tones on site and this work will be completed alongside the installation of the new chambers.
Remedial works Blashill Court & Camellia House Swan’s specialist Fire Safety Advisers have confirmed that some remedial works are required to be carried out to Blashill Court and Camellia House. We are fully engaged with London Borough of Tower Hamlets and the GLA and are committed to providing monthly updates to all affected residents and leaseholders. We have updated our fire safety advice and procedures, as well as including more regular checks to ensure everyone’s safety, which is our utmost priority at this time. Residents can update our team on any change to their household’s access needs by calling 0300 303 2500 or emailing claddingenquiries@swan.org.uk. Swan will continue to keep affected households updated as we work closely with specialist Fire Engineers to agree the full extent of works required to rectify this issue.

Swan have partnered with The New City College to offer you this bespoke course which will help you learn about various trades, gain practical experience and see what the industry has to offer. As well as getting an introduction to the building trades, you will learn about the life in the industry to maximise your employment potential.
The 8 weeks training will include: •

Shops at Blackwall Reach
As lockdown restrictions start to ease, the new businesses located at Station Square just off Poplar High St in Phase 1B are looking forward to welcoming customers back. Dock Coffee and Mooboo Bubble Tea, like many cafes and restaurants in the area, have continued to serve food and drink throughout the most recent lockdown period by operating a take-away service. Dream Nails, Chairman
Gentleman barbers and More Yoga are looking forward to opening as soon as they are allowed. Gold Star dry cleaners are currently fitting out their new store. This store will open soon and they plan to celebrate their opening with a special offer of 25% off all services. We are currently speaking to a further two businesses who we hope to welcome to Blackwall Reach soon.
Blackwall Reach Residents’ Board update The Blackwall Reach Residents’ Board (BRRB) met on 23 March at 6pm via Zoom. The scheduled AGM was postponed following a lack of nominees. The AGM has been rescheduled after Ramadan and will now take place on 18 May 2021 at 6pm. The meeting will be held online with nomination forms distributed on the estate a month before the scheduled meeting. If you would like more information on the BRRB or would like to join the next meeting, please email involve@swan.org.uk who will forward your message to Abul Hasnath, MAY Chair of the BRRB.

উন্নয়ন সংক্রান্ত সাম্প্রতিকতম তথ্য: রূপান্তর চলছে পর্যায় 1B – ব্ল্যাকওয়াল DLR স্টেশনের নিকটবর্তী পর্যায় 1B-তে প্রাকৃতিক দৃশ্যের অনুকরণে সাজান�োর কাজ এখন শেষ হয়েছে এবং সেটি জনসাধারণের জন্য উন্মুক্ত। এই এলাকার অন্তর্ভু ক্ত হল এস্টেট এবং স্থানীয় এলাকায় বসবাসকারী শিশুদের জন্য উন্মুক্ত খেলার সরঞ্জাম। পর্যায় 2 – চারটি ভবনের প্রতিটিতেই নতুন বাড়িগুলিতে বাইরের দেওয়াল নির্মাণের কাজ ভাল�োভাবে শুরু হয়ে গেছে। পপলার হাই স্ট্রিট-এর ওয়েফেয়ার হাউজ্-এ (ব্লক C3) এই কাজটি সর্বাধিক লক্ষণীয় যেখানে অর্ধেক সংখ্যক ভবনের সামনের দিকে প্রি-কাস্ট কংক্রিট ফেকেড (façade) এর প্যানেল লাগান�ো হয়ে গেছে। বাড়ির সামনের দিকের ফেকেড (façade) প্রতিস্থাপনের পরবর্তী পর্যায়টি শীঘ্রই গসন�োল্ড হাউজ্-এ (ব্লক C2) শুরু হবে। উলম�োর স্ট্রিট এর ভেঞ্চার হাউজ্(ব্লক D) এবং ক�োয়েস্ট হাউজ্(ব্লক C1) ইঁট গাঁ থার কাজ শুরু হওয়ার আগে এখন মাচা দিয়ে ঘেরা আছে। ভবনটিকে বন্ধ রাখা শুরু করতে এই কাজগুলি অত্যন্ত জরুরি যাতে সেটি পানি-নির�োধক করা যায় এবং অভ্যন্তরীণ কাজ শুরু হতে পারে। ভেঞ্চার হাউজ্এর অভ্যন্তরের দেওয়ালে ইতিমধ্যে কাজ শুরু হয়েছে। বেসমেণ্ট স্তরের কাজ প্রায় সম্পূর্ণ যাতে একতলার উপরে বৈদ্যুতিক ব্ল্যাকওয়াল রিচ | নিউজ্লেটার - এপ্রিল 2021
এবং যান্ত্রিক প্রতিস্থাপনের কাজগুলি শীঘ্র শুরু হতে পারে। হিটিং পাইপ এর কাজ সাফল্যের সঙ্গে পর্যায় 1B এর এনার্জি সেণ্টার থেকে পর্যায় 2 এবং পর্যায় 1A- পর্যন্ত সম্প্রসারিত হয়েছে। এই কাজের ফলে উন্নয়নের পর্যায়গুলিকে ব্ল্যাকওয়াল এর ডিস্ট্রিক্ট হিটিং সিস্টেম এর সঙ্গে সংযুক্ত করা যাবে। পর্যায় 3 – জনসাধারণের সঙ্গে আল�োচনার পরে আমরা 315-টি নতুন আবাসিক গৃহ, একটি কাফে/রেস্টুরেণ্ট, দার�োয়ান এবং বাসিন্দাদের জন্য সাধারণ ব্যবহার্য স্থানের জন্য পরিকল্পনার আবেদন জমা দিয়েছি যার সব উচ্চতা 6 থেকে 12 তলাবিশিষ্ট 2-টি প্রধান ভবনের মধ্যে। নিসর্গ দৃশ্যের অন্তর্ভু ক্ত হবে নতুন উদ্যানসমূহ, শিশুদের খেলার জায়গা এবং মিলেনিয়াম গ্রিন এর উন্নয়ন। আমরা বর্ত মানে পরিকল্পনা সম্পর্কিত সিদ্ধান্তের অপেক্ষায় আছি এবং পরে বসন্তকালে এই বিষয়ে সাম্প্রতিকতম তথ্য পাওয়ার আশা করছি।
