The landscaping and play area in Phase 1B by the new station square next to Blackwall DLR station is almost complete. The playground will open when the work on the path alongside it is finished and the play area has received a final safety inspection (subject to Covid-19 regulations). Overall, this entire area is looking great with its new trees, planting and green space.
We’d like to thank everyone who took part in the online public consultation events for Phase 3 in May and September this year. Over 200 people attended our virtual events and visited the consultation pages of the website. You provided valuable input and feedback which helped us shape the proposals into what will be a fantastic addition to the east side of Millennium Green.
Early in the new year, you will start to see rapid progress on homes in Phase 2. Swan and the Council will soon be writing to residents looking forward to moving into this phase to give them some more information. Cranes are now returning to the site. One crane is already in position and it will shortly be joined by two more cranes. Once the cranes are safely erected, installation work on the facades of the new buildings can begin. We are delighted to announce that the reserved matters planning application for the next phase of the regeneration was submitted to Tower Hamlets Council on 5 November 2020. The Phase 3 planning application is for 315 new residential homes, a café/restaurant, concierge and ancillary space for residents, all within two main buildings between six and 12 storeys in height. This is further enhanced by landscaping, children’s play space, new public realm and additional improvements to Millennium Green.
