Because of the possibility of Covid-19 shutdowns, we are not seeking licences for movies until closer to the time. Be assured, though, that if we are able, we will bring you a delightful movie in August. The SwanCare bus will begin its rounds at 6pm and take you home after the movie. Watch out for a leaflet in your letterbox with full details!

EMBROIDERY GROUP

Would you like to do a little exercise in the morning? We are not a club as such, just a gathering of people who have become friends but we would love to greet some new faces. The session only takes 25 minutes finishing with a friendly tea or coffee and natter.

Anyone for chess? There is no better brain exercise than a game of Chess. Enjoyable too! Beginners, “rusty” old players, and experts all welcome.

Work on your creative projects with some sociable chatter. Please bring your own materials for embroidery, knitting, other creative projects. BYO cup. All welcome!

SWAN VILLAGE BOWLING CLUB Despite the wet weather during the past month the club has had good attendances on most bowling days. Members are reminded our next gala day is Wednesday the 8th of September and the club’s AGM is scheduled for Thursday 9th of September commencing at 10am in the Pavilion. Details of both events will be posted on the club notice board in the next few days. Nomination forms for the committee will also be on the notice board, and members are encouraged to nominate for the committee. Another important date to note on your calendar is the 2nd of December for our Christmas lunch at the RAAFA Airforce restaurant in Bullcreek.

Learn all about Native Bees and how to provide food and shelter to encourage our fascinating food and native plant pollinators at our August meeting.

An informal get together for people who haven’t been out much or people who would like to chat and relax with friendly folks. Make new friends or meet with old ones. All welcome! BYO cup if you would like a hot beverage.

SWANCARE AUXILIARY The SwanCare Centres Auxiliary meeting topic will on resident Bill Waterer telling us about his experiences working with the Orangutans in Borneo.

SwanCare Allsorts Choir Concert Inviting all SwanCare residents to join our very own Bentley Park Allsorts Choir in a heart-warming singalong. Doors open 1:30pm. Afternoon tea provided. Ice creams, cool drinks & raffle tickets for sale on the day. Free tickets are available in Admin foyer on Monday 9th August from 9:00am to 9:30am. This is a seated event with tables of 8. Bus pick up at 1:30pm and return at the usual places.

Good to see so many coming along despite the weather. We had to miss a session during lockdown and then had to wear masks but still managed. Social Club Annual General Meeting All residents are invited to attend the Bentley Park Social Club AGM. The Social Club Committee coordinates the primary social activities for residents of Bentley Park. Committee Member positions are vacant and if elected stand for a term of 12 months. Nominations close on Friday 9th August 2021. Morning Tea will be available at the end of the meeting.

She will talk about the services available through Lions, and we are hoping to arrange for hearing screening tests to be available at Bentley Park on the same day. SOCIAL DANCE Our July dance was a good, fun evening. Thank you to all the people who braved a wet, cold evening to join us. We soon warmed up doing 9 line dances and 12 others. The evening is very inclusive. Dances are led and easy to follow. We enjoyed a delicious supper with tea and coffee. A big thank you to everyone who makes this evening possible. We look forward to doing it again in August.
