The advertised speaker for June is, unfortunately, unable to come. The talk on Native Bees will be in August. This month we will meet and have a member-focussed Q&A discussion to share our knowledge. We are coming into winter now, so it will be useful to look at seasonal plantings and maintenance jobs. Come with questions!

An informal get together for people who haven’t been out much or people who would like to chat and relax with friendly folks. Make new friends or meet with old ones. All welcome! BYO cup if you would like a hot beverage.

SWANCARE AUXILIARY The June meeting of the Auxiliary will have a speaker from Zonta, a business which runs refuges for women. We would like to give a donation of goods suitable – i.e. toiletries, sanitary products, hand towels, socks, or even new underwear in various sizes. There will be boxes around the village and we also ask members to bring donations to the meeting.

The 2021 Bentley Park Show which will be held on Saturday, 2nd October, in the Leisure Centre Precinct. The Show Committee tries to offset some of its costs each year with the sale of chocolates and this year they will be sold through two stalls on the same morning, to enable you to reach one of them easily. The first is in the Auditorium, and the second is in The Pavilion (near the bowling green). Each will run from 9.30am to 12 noon, unless sold out.

ROBIN’S ART CLASSES

Our May dance was a successful fun evening. Eleven line dances were mixed in with twelve other dances which included fun, novelty and country dances. The evening is very inclusive; no partners are needed as all the dances are suited to singles or couples. A light supper, tea and coffee are provided.

SWAN VILLAGE BOWLING CLUB The club held a very successful sausage sizzle as a pre-game lunch on Wednesday 19th May, with many remaining to enjoy an afternoon of bowls. Many thanks to our social activities ladies for organising the lunch. Our next social outing is our lunch at the Byford Community Country Club on 29th July, details of which will be posted on our noticeboard in early July.
