The Bentley Park Social club invites all residents to two fantastic events upcoming in November! Due to restrictions there is a limit of 100 tickets per event. Kiosk will be open for purchase of nibbles and Raffle tickets will be on sale.

Our next function is our Christmas luncheon which will be held on Thursday 10th December at RAAFA Bullcreek at 12 noon. All details and list will be posted on the club notice board by Wednesday 3rd November till Monday 6th December, when numbers will be confirmed.

At last, the Gardens Interest Group will be getting together again. Our next topic will be about ‘Living Christmas Gifts’. Bring your ideas to share.

Please check the club noticeboard for change of day bowls to night bowls if weather gets too hot. A reminder that the Annual Club Fees are due.

SINGALONG GROUP How can singing improve your health, well being, mental and emotional development? By joining the fortnightly Sing- a- Long group, that’s how! There is so much evidence to back this statement but to prove it to yourself come along and join the group who choose and sing a wealth of favourite songs in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. There are 25 residents who come along and select songs from the file of 50 songs. Why not give it a go?

HEART FOUNDATION WALKING GROUP Residents of Rowethorpe and Bentley Park are welcome to join us for a 30 minute walk. We start at 7.30am every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings. The walks are free to join and are followed by tea and coffee and a chat. A great way to make new friends! Walk at your own pace. Some stride it out while others go along at a more leisurely pace or use walking frames.

COFFEE AND CATCH UP CLUB

FISH ‘N’ CHIPS ON STRATTON October luncheon was a great success as entertainer Moira Scott had residents and committee up dancing. Our next luncheon will be on Friday the 6th of November. Entertainers will be ‘Flashback Duo’. We will be celebrating the Melbourne Cup, so ladies dust off your pretty hats and fascinators. Gentleman dust off that top hat and tails. Due to limited seating, bookings must be made.

Would you like to do a little exercise in the morning? We are not a club as such, just a gathering of people who have become friends but we would love to greet some new faces. The session only takes 25 minutes finishing with a friendly tea or coffee and natter.

Pottery is a great hobby for those who like using their hands and getting creative. Unfortunately for the time being we are not accepting new members – we will advise in What’s On Guide when back open for nominations.

FRIDAY NIGHT FLICKS The November movie is Fiddler on the Roof. Set in prerevolutionary Russia, a Jewish peasant contends with marrying off three of his daughters while growing antisemitic sentiment threatens his village. Don’t forget that the SwanCare bus begins its run at 6pm for free transport to the Auditorium, and home again afterwards. Doors open at 6pm, and movies begin promptly at 6.30pm with a refreshment break. No need to book for the movie or the bus – just turn up! Any children under 16 will not be charged.
