Setting up a crossborder project T

he setting up of the project itself, within the framework of a call for projects, or in order to be submitted to the evaluation of national (state services), regional (ECOWAS, UEMOA, African Development Bank) and international funders, must undergo rigorous strategic thinking to consider and anticipate the needs and risks at each stage of the project.

The main suggested steps are:

1. Define precisely the scope of the project Define the objectives of the cross-border project Example: • The construction, equipment and establishment of the management structure of a cross-border health centre;

• the organisation of study tours/experience sharing among agriculture stakeholders; • the opening up of access routes to a health centre.

Define the criteria for selecting the cross-border project efine the project’s target audience: Local authorities? Populations? ProfesD sionals? List the local authority members of the cross-border area
