STANDARD AND REGULATIONS La Normativa

SVELT SAFETY LADDER are designed according to local regulations. European standards EN131 are not applicable. Test certificates: all our products have got a certificate where Svelt declares the conformity to standards. Labels and instruction manuals: All products are equipped with stickers printed with indelible ink, specifying: - Conformity of products to quality standards and regulations - Safety of products - Guarantee - Main user instructions explained with different drawings - Where necessary, capacity, heights, thickness, serial number, weight, number of steps, series (heavy or light duty). - Each product is fitted out with assembling, use and maintenance manual.

WALKWAYS CERTIFICATION

SVELT GUARDRAILS are designed and manufactured according to local regulations. European standards (optional): models PC1A and PC2A complies also with UNI EN 13374:2004 Temporary systems which protect edges – Product specification – Method of test – EN14122-3 – Permanent access solutions to machinery – Ladders, stepladders and guardrails. PC1A and PC2A have been Tested by Politecnico di Milano (Applied-Science Faculty in Milan). GUARDRAILS CERTIFICATION

Guardrails, safety ladders and walkways are warrantied 10 years against manufacturing faults. The products in this catalogue conform to ISO 9000 according to UNI EN 287/1 and EN ISO 9602/2. Our welders and welding machines are periodically examined by an approved lab who issues a license when they pass functionality, ability and precision tests. Our suppliers of row materials are certified according to ISO9001. Our products are welded with TIG method.

FIRST STEP: CLIMBING THE ROOF – SAFETY HOOPED (CAGE) LADDER

Non-folding fixed ladder with steps or rungs suitable to access roofing or machineries, for control of fumes, maintenance, cleaning. Perfect for chimneys, fronts of buildings, platforms, overhead travelling cranes… Heavy duty and weather proof, they are manufactured with the best safety and quality standard to last for long. HOOPED LADDER • Made in extruded reinforced aluminium welded with TIG method • Simple assembling thanks to the instruction and maintenance manual • Capacity 150 kg • The cage starts from 2.50 m from ground • Last 1,10 m at the top is without rungs to allow operator’s exit • Equipped with 2 aluminium brackets of 15 cm every 2 m for fastening to the wall • Cage diameter 680 mm • Distance rung /cage 600 mm • Distance rung/wall 160 mm • Available also without the cage

FIRST STEP: CLIMBING THE ROOF –STANDARD & OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES La Normativa

Safety gate Aluminium gate which can be locked by the user to avoid unauthorized people’s climbing.

Climbing platform Aluminium platform designed to step over the ribs of sheds with low walls on the roof. The ladder can be vertical or with an inclination of 45° or 60 ° and handrail for a comfortable descent.

Moving brackets

Outreach and inspection platform Aluminium platform designed to outreach roofs or windows or other opening on the wall. It can also be used for flue gas test, for maintenance or other access works.

Removable access ladder Aluminium ladder conforming to European Standard EN131 which is hooked to the cage ladder to reach roof. Once the work is finished it can be unhooked and stored in another place to avoid unauthorized people’s climbing. Height 2,30 m. Available also custom-made models.

Access handrails Aluminium handrails which grant safe and ergonomic grip during access.

Galvanized steel bracket which can be easily used by the assembler as it can be placed at the desired height. They are different from standard brackets which are welded to the ladder at a fixed height. Moving brackets are particularly suitable to fix the cage ladder to lattices where girders are always in a different position.

Reinforced brackets Aluminium or steel brackets replace the standard ones of 15 cm when the cage ladder is installed on a wall with obstacles which have to be climbed over. The dimension of the bracket is made to measure according to the distance from the wall.

Non-folding rest platform The aluminium platform allows the operator to rest during climbing or going dawn. It is compulsory for ladders higher than 10 m. It is integrated in the spitting form and it is the most comfortable and safe way to go up and down.

Removable ladder for manholes

Folding rest platform The aluminium platform allows the operator to rest during climbing or going dawn. It is compulsory for ladders higher than 10 m. It can be assembled also on cage ladders without spitting form. Aluminium ladder designed to help the operator during entry and exit from the top of the ladder assembled in a well or manhole. Entry available also with telescopic handle.

Splitting form and side exit The user can also request an exit on the left or on the right in addition to or in replacement of the standard one. In this case, a cut is done in the cage where the user needs the exit. The splitting form is supplied only for ladders higher than 10 m (including non-folding rest platform).

Gate to protect exit Aluminium gate designed to close the exit on the roof to avoid operator’s back falling.

SECOND STEP: MOVING ON THE ROOF – MODULAR WALKWAYS

Custom-made walkways for roofs, machinery, rooflight or Eternit reclamation . Temporary ways made by aluminium gangways which allow safe walk on fragile or slippery roofs or work in inaccessible areas. They are rust prof and equipped with non-slip knurled platform. They are easy to assemble, light and can be installed on preexistent structures. On request they can be supplied with one (left or right) or both guardrails. (designed and produced just for protection and safety of men at work) Walkways can be: 1) Modular or custom-made 2) With or without left or right guardrails 3) - Standard length 600 mm - Special width on request: 700/800/900/1000 mm - Custom-made width 4) With standard modular length 2 and 3 m - Modules can be hooked one to another - Custom-made lengths 5) Great allowance which permits good fitting to cambers or imperfections of the surface Note: compact dimensions for easy transport

Single modular walkway

Svelt walkway are designed to be used totally adhered to flat or slightly inclined surfaces or adhering to supports with a max centre to centre distance of 1500 mm and a capacity of max 100 kg every linear meter (distributed). For particular requirements (for example centre to centre distance > 1500 mm), please ask for a quotation specifying special requests such as walkway dimensions, distance between supports, capacity, place of use…

Triple modular walkways

Walkways can be tailor-made according to the required length. We can plan fixing points suitable for flat or inclined surfaces (also on walls). Walkways are not designed to install safe lines systems.

Custom-made temporary modular guardrails designed for roofs and machinery to protect edges. They are extremely light and handy and are used to form the required perimeters. Our high quality aluminium guardrails grant collective perfect safety according to standards. Easy to assemble, aesthetically pleasant, statically resistant and rigid. (designed and produced just for protection and safety of men at work) CLASS A MODULAR GUARDRAIL (for roofs with slops up to 10° or 18%) With a quick assembly, you can obtain a comfortable, light and rust-proof guardrail. Fixing to roof is made by the user. Each module is equipped with joints to create a continuity along the whole roof. The guardrail can also be fitted out with bends. Guardrail systems must grant resistance to static loads. The base features are: • Carrying a person who leans against the barrier and giving support when he walks sideways • Stopping a person who walks or falls towards the barrier Technical features • Guardfrail height 1100 mm • Aluminium pillars with centre to centre distance up to1500 mm • Handrail diameter 32 mm • Toeboard height 175 mm • Pre-perforated lock plate for floor or wall fixing • Extremely compact for transport

PC1A (floor fixing)

PC2A (wall fixing) NEW PCR3A (adjustable/foldable) Foldable guardrail with adjustable inclination (ballasted on floor) equipped with toeboard, guardrail and handrail. It is suitable for sloping roofs and easy to transport. PHOTOVOLTAIC S: model PCR3A is perfect for roofs with photovoltaic systems on as it is always closed avoiding shading. The guardrail is opened by the operator just before maintenance works and then closed again (on request also for models PC1A and PC2A).
